Our stay at the hotel was very peaceful and lovely . The room was very clean with a view of the sea, there was a balcony where you can drink your coffee every morning and watch the sun rise. The staff was very efficient and friendly, you can always turn to them with any questions you have. The hotel has its own restaurant where the food was excellent. Olive Villas was fantastic from start to finish. Stayed 2 nights then added 2 more it was so good. Staff was fantastic from check-in forward. Restaurant is good (ate there for 2 dinners plus daily breakfast). Beach service (chairs and towels) were FANTASTIC. Beach good/drink service was also good albeit pricy. Great views from the rooms. Liked that the pool closed at 1900 so that things got quieter in the evenings. We were there in August 2025 and while the resort was essentially full, it never felt overcrowded. Olive Villas is pricey, but worth the money. I would absolutely return - HIGHLY recommended. (Reviewer: 55 year old experienced traveler with teenagers).

If you are looking for a quiet and modern place, Onyx is the best choice. Private beach, easy access , really clean , new and nice rooms. It was our second year here. Safe to say we feel like home. The staff is nice and friendly and tend to all your needs. The beach is clean, don’t know why or how but it does not fell crowded. Which is always a plus. Good breakfast,. We really enjoyed our stay here.

    We did decide to go off season, so most places where just opening up but even with that there was plenty to do. We can't really complain but we would have loved to see what the pools looked like and felt like when they were heated and when it was peak season! The pool bar being open was a plus, the restaurant was exceptional and everyone was beyond friendly 😁. Also very grateful for the shop in the complex. And the gym was cool and with the sauna it's a classic combo... didn't get to they the jacuzzi but definitely next time we will. Lastly because of the time off year we decided to visit it was extremely quiet which we did enjoy too.

    wonderful location , easy access to the beach , room it was extraordinarily clean and big . The room had exactly the sea view that we were expecting . The foods I can say were good and we had lots of options for all meals during the day . inside bar was active till 11 PM which was a wonderful option . free parking was prepared . The hotel had prepared good water play equipment for free . Wonderful beach , clean and safe for swimming . Active 3 bars , beside the pool and sea till 6 PM and inside the bar till 11 PM. Opportunity of visiting Nessebar beautiful city and Old town (Lots of free events in the Old town during summer).

    Extremely crowded city. Food in restoraunts is meh at best. Sea is clean but you cannot swim, lifeguards don't allow to go further then 1.5m depth and if a small breeze blowing- further then ankle depth, so if you want to enjoy the sea-choose a different location.

    Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded. The walking corridor along the beach and the hotels now is full of stores and restaurants and sometimes you cannot even walk. There are several things to explore in the area besides de beach ( which to me is better towards Varna than golden sands). Varna sea garden, and harbor are a nice thing to explore while you are there. Also other historical places as the Ovech fortress or the aladhza monastery are good options. We also took our chances and went to Nesebar old town ( 2 hours from varna) totally worthed.

    From a tourism perspective, it's not a very interesting city...

    From a tourism perspective, it's not a very interesting city. It has a large park, a less impressive pedestrian street, and a long beach that is crowded and littered (lots of cigarette butts are scattered around). There are a few scattered socialist-era sights still in the city. I would recommend visiting the nearby Balchik instead.

    Great find!

    Great find! The history, atmosphere, beaches, shops and restaurants were great. The local people are lovely too (all except a grumpy art gallery owner!) Make sure to walk down to the level below - we luckily found it by chance but the external fort walls along the edge of the town is a wonderful, vibrant line of beach side restaurants! We would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

    We were really only passing through, between Sofia and...

    We were really only passing through, between Sofia and Nessebar. We spent a fine day exploring nearby Sozopol - an old fishing port caked in history and with interesting churches. Consequently we didn't have much chance to explore Burgas itself. There were plenty of fine bars and restaurants, but Burgas is not really a spectacular holiday destination, compared to the nearby Black Sea resorts.

    Nesebar it's lovely.

    Nesebar it's lovely. A perfect mix of beaches to rest, tan, get into the water. Also, walking around the new and old city that are very well kept, makes me feel that I must comeback. Nice breeze, so you don't feel very hot.

    The centre is very busy with tourists however is nice to walk into the shops Not much pavement is provided for tourists to walk safely and may need to walk down on the road which is unsafe for children and people The town is nice and a lot of places with tasty food can be found

    It's a great place to visit for a chill vaycay. Aside from the unique setting there are less points if interest than expected. The palace and it's gardens was great and huge, you should set aside an entire day for it if you plan to see it. The beach was okey, the main one is on the smaller side, it's in a janky area aswell but it was not overcrowded. There was also an odd tiny beach but we didn't go there. It seemed terrible to be honest. A road between the sand and the water and a strip of rock and gravel between the road and water. Have transport if you are staying further into the town. The whole place is on a series of steep hills, that is a lot of upward walking in the blistering heat.

    A good selection of restaurants with good food and drink at a reasonable price. A nice buzz in the old town at night. From our location, bikes were essential for getting into the old town along the promenade. Roads around our location very poor - no footpaths and rough surface on lanes. A lot of unfinished abandoned looking buildings in the area.
