The only irksome thing was the Wifi. Most hotels just let you into their Wifi as a guest and the others just need a password. Having to sign into Swissscom and giving them all sorts of info was a little over the top for me.

I’ve been coming to the Stadthaus for roughly 20 years and have always found it an exceptional location and building. I have always been well taken care of and have enjoyed every stay. It’s a beautiful area and a peaceful place to enjoy yourself. The food is always good and the service exceptional.

Cute little place in a secluded area. We didn’t spend much time here and it was just a quick stop. Lovely balcony we could enjoy and watch the farmer toil his land. Decent breakfast. Water pressure and heat in the shower was incredible. Best shower I had in Switzerland.

Very clean, great breakfast, amazing setting (800 yr old castle in the gorgeous Emmental hills & farms).
We walked to the Trachelwald Castle (and up the steep steps inside the prison tower) fascinating history!

The town is small but has a great deal of charm, with cobbled streets and old buildings. The highlight being the castle.
If you're there in summer - and like swimming - do not miss a dip in the outdoor pool, the Freibad. You get a great view of the castle.

We found Eggiwil village very nice and the residents were very friendly and respectful. We were in Mr. Alexander hotel for one night but have lots of good memories. At end he gave us two pockets of homemade spaghetti. Thanks for all he did for us.
When we arrive to home one day later we found that my one son brings a towel of hotel mistacally. If we visit again Eggiwil will give it back, if not we hope Alex porden us.

I lovely place to stay.
I lovely place to stay. Not your normal hotel but all the better for that.
The room was large and bright and perfect for our needs. Breakfast provided was delicious, varied and local.
The area isn't very touristy but is charming with easy access to tourist hot spots

We didn't have time to use neither the sauna or the outdoor bathtub which are extra to pay, naturally as they have to heat the facilities.
The accommodation is ideal for families with children.
You should visit Trachselwald castle (middle ages) with a lot of history.
Also visit Burgdorf and castle.
The owners offer a lot of information leaflets for visits and other suggestions, e.g. visit Cheese Production facility in Affoltern !!!! Langnau, Trubschachen, Trub, etc.
