A lovely place to stay just outside of the bustle of the city with all the creature comforts like hot showers, comfy beds, and air conditioning. It's enough outside of the city that you can see stars at night and listen to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. However, it's a quick and easy bus ride right into the center, and it's near a lot of the jungle attractions like Reserva Omagua and Parque Mundo Amazonico. Plus, you couldn't ask for better more welcoming hosts!

Authentic and beautiful boutique hotel located in close distance to both airport and Leticia. The family collaboration and attention to detail along with personalized tours/amazing food made our stay here very special. I had an absolutely incredible stay at Cruz Roja in Leticia, easily the best experience of my entire trip in Colombia! The staff here are simply amazing—friendly, funny, and always willing to help. They made everything easy and enjoyable, from modifying my booking dates to storing my belongings while I traveled deeper into the jungle. They helped coordinate with a tour agency, which was a huge plus. Each morning, they cooked delicious meals, and we had great and easy conversations over breakfast. Their kindness and warmth made me feel at home, and I truly appreciated their care and attention. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean, and the rooms are very spacious with air conditioning—an absolute necessity in the Amazon! One detail I particularly loved was the adjustable lighting in the rooms, allowing you to switch between cold and warm tones. Small things like this really make a difference. Just keep in mind, like everywhere in the Amazon, there is no hot water—but that's to be expected. The location is convenient, just a short drive from the airport, and while it's not the most walkable area due to an open field separating it from the city center, tuk-tuks are cheap and fast. Getting around Leticia is very easy, as it's a small town. Another reason to stay here: the hotel contributes part of its profits to the Red Cross Foundation. So by staying here, you're also supporting a great cause. Huge thanks to the entire staff for making my stay in Leticia unforgettable! If you're visiting the Amazon and want a comfortable, welcoming place with amazing hospitality, I highly recommend Cruz Roja.

Very convenient hotel next to airport. Very nice people. Our flight was delayed so we were so glad they had given us such a hearty delicious breakfast before we left. The proprietor has a Tuk Tuk so he can take you part way with a 5 minute walk to the entrance of the airport. Also we got a ride the evening before departure to the city center to have dinner. Another convenience was the laundry service with the clothes returned the same day.

This location is amazing! The structure is open air, with some walls for privacy in the bedrooms (the walls go up about 3/4 height) and bathroom (full wall), and actually floats on the Amazon River. The structure and construction is a marvel. Coordinating arrival with the staff was easy - they arranged for us to be picked up from Leticia airport with a taxi, and then a boat to the hotel itself. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and delicious every day! We also had the lunch and dinner meals at the hotel (we paid out of pocket for these), which were also homemade and based on local cuisine - yum! Finally, the hotel staff helped arrange expeditions for us while we were visiting; they coordinated a day-long Amazon River tour for us and a day-long Amazon jungle tour. All we had to do was say we wanted to do those tours, and the hotel staff coordinated the rest. It was wonderful.

Everything was lovely, the staff is really helpful and ready to support you. The tours organized by the hotel really give you the opportunity to explore the Amazon. The food was also really tasty, a plus was that we were offered a different natural juice each day, from Amazon native fruits. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the hotel has a souvenir store with really good prices and beautiful pieces carved by indigenous communities. On the sustainable component of the hotel, we liked the fact it purchases part of the restaurant ingredients from local communities, that it hires indigenous people and that it's energetically self-sufficient (solar power). 10/10 recommended.

Our stay was super nice! The family that owns the hotel are very friendly & welcoming and the rooms are very comfortable & clean. There was a fan and also AC which we could use in the evenings which made everything much easier as it's very hot and humid in Leticia. The room is equipped with everything you may need and very well taken care of. There was housekeeping, which was super helpful, as it rains a lot and it gets muddy so it's easy to get everything a bit dirty. We were very happy with our stay and appreciated the nice atmosphere and welcoming attitude. There is a shop directly by the hotel and the centre is like a 20 minute walk away, but it's a nice walk and not too difficult. The hotel is super close to the airport, which is very practical, as you can just walk directly when you arrive, and it's not noisy. We absolutely recommend it!

Nice hotel! Check-in was easy, and the room was great! The shower was your standard shower in colombia, but what was unusual (and awesome) was that the room had A/C! The room also had a mini fridge with really cheap drinks! So unusual, usually those are crazy expensive haha. The breakfast room was a little tricky to find, but once we found it it was great! Lots of food and juice options. There's a pool as well but we didn't wind up going in. Great little hotel and it had A/C, would definitely stay here again!

Leticia is the city you will reach to start your Amazonas adventures. We spent one night in town before we traveled up the river. Leticia is very safe and friendly, with plenty of stores, restaurants, bars, cafes, and more. There are plenty of police, soldiers, and coast guard. We walked from the airport to our downtown hotel, but the sidewalks and roads are rough. There are many inexpensive taxis, tuk-tuks, and even moto taxis (motorcycles). There are ATMs and currency exchanges, in case you want to go to the neighbour town in Brazil.

July 2022. A special place. Great relaxed vibe.

July 2022. A special place. Great relaxed vibe. Locals friendly. Very safe to walk around. I’d recommend 3-4 nights to get full experience. Lots of cheap hostel options. We stayed at Refugio Maiku - recommended, but one the pricier options (US$25/day for a private room with b/r). A handful of options to eat. Most restaurants are clustered in one area. Margarita is biggest and has a good lunch buffet (US$5). Dona Luz and Rogelio (cheapest) are also recommended. At night, there is a parrilla in the street where you can get cheap eats. There are a couple of basic grocery stores facing the river where you get water, beer and other essentials. One is open until 11pm. Most tours (“actividades”) you’ll want a guide. Depending on the water level, the tours are very different. I’d recommend a night hike the first day you arrive. Tarapoto is a must. The trip to San Antonio reserva on the Peruvian side and hike to a ginormous tree is also beautiful. We didn’t have time to go, but heard great things about the hike in Parque Natural Amacayacu. Each tour we did was between $12 -$25 but can vary based on group size. When you arrive, you can go to the information booth and get a map and information on tours. You can walk on your own to the Wochine reservation on your own (25 minutes) and see the pirarucu and caimans. You can also walk to Altos de Aguila and see monkeys and parrots (15-20 minutes) Lots of people will offer to be your guide, but best to find someone recommended beforehand or to ask at your hostel. Brandon was our guide for a few tours and is recommended. Tickets for the ferry back to Leticia is behind the malecon. You can reserve a place the day before you travel.
