Pool very nice (we used the indoor one, but they also have two outdoor ones!). Staff very friendly and accommodating - hotel does not have a “Ruhetag” (important as the location, while lovely, is rather remote) but has a more restricted menu & hours one day a week instead. We were there on this day, but there was still sufficient choice and the waitress prepared some ice cream for us after the kitchen had closed, despite being very busy.

Great location, superb and spacious family room (penthouse duplex), reasonable price. I arrived late in the evening (outside of reception working hours), but the key was waiting for me at the reception. There is no parking available, but I got clear instructions where to park (public garage nearby, accessible and safe). Hotel personnel communicated with me in English, quick to respond to my written questions.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, quickly and efficiently fixed initial wifi issues; they were continuously cheerful and helpful even though it was a very busy and full hotel over the Easter weekend.
The restaurant dinner was excellent!

Their restaurant is perfect. You can get their special cuisine at about 16 euros. It is good and it is large as giant food. The pork tastes amazing! And I like the room it’s clean and comfortable! And nice beer of course 🍺

A modern hotel located in the Fortress of Rosenberg. A neat, cosy room with perfectly clean bathroom and a toilet. A very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. A parking place on the site.

Franconian beer.
Franconian beer. Bamberg and even better in the surrounding towns you will drink Franconian beer. And your life will never be the same. Bamberg incredible, the surrounding towns even better, get to the Kellers (Griess Keller and Sauer Keller for example).

Bayreuth is the place to go to see and listen to Wagner's works. The city may seem boring to those who don't attend the Festival's performances. At least for me, everything revolves around the Wagner Festival, which is unparalleled in the world.

Surprisingly wonderful town.
Surprisingly wonderful town. So rare in Germany to experience a town spared from destruction during WWII. The downtown is very interesting and atmospherically inviting. I would place Coburg ahead of Bamberg regarding the visiting value. Hard to compare the two places, but if it is not about the Bamberger Reiter or similar treasures you can find in Bamberg, Coburg will satisfy most other and all worldly things on the same level if not a bit more.

The room was nice and clean.
The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacy. The shower was a hit difficult to place in the preferred height but all in all it was all a wonderful experience.

It is a charming town with beautiful places and friendly people. There was a lot of reconstructions in the centre but I hope next time to be ready.
I would like to know more for the history of the town. There were too many interesting places - the tower, the gate ancient door, old houses and a lot of churches, a river - but I didn't find enouph info on the same places.

Also nice is that the town is located within the hills and forests : so you can combine a city-trip with some decent hiking.

A small university town, with few sights to see.
A small university town, with few sights to see. The downtown or main street had cool stores and a mini flea market going on. Food options were limited, not much for vegans as far as I could see. Taxis are plenty, but they have to be called on a local number. And they require YOU to provide a baby car seat, which is difficult if you are travelling for just 2-3 days. Other wise relaxing and nice place to visit. Public transport is very well organised and many areas are within walking distance.

Fichtelberg is surrounded by beautiful forests, with clearly defined walks to follow, using the maps in the accommodation. Favourite places were Fichtelsee, a large lake within walking distance with boating etc and a very good restaurant.

Bamberg is an interesting old town, with lots of charming buildings.
The natural history museum has some amazing fossils and is well worth a visit. It is not very big, so an hour or so geat.
Lots of places to eat and drink. Bamberg is famous for its smoky beer!
The view from the Neue Residenz is worth the walk and there is a pleasant cafe in the rose garden, where one can rest and enjoy a coffee and cake, an ice cream or a drink.

This is Mecca for Wagner fans in July and August.
This is Mecca for Wagner fans in July and August. The acoustics of the Festspielhaus are superb and unique--no other place achieves that blend of voice and orchestra. Bayreuth is a charming, real town--nothing kitschy or twee about it. Several good restaurants; and everyone stays open late to accommodate festival goers.
