Big hotel that never seems to be big, thanks to a brilliant layout. Excellent staff, the service level is really high. Good bed, shower, room. Great Spa and Pool area. The separate family spa is brilliant, it keeps the adult only spa quiet but is not lacking in its offering. Probably the best breakfast buffet and à la carte we have had. Dinner at the hotel was really good as well.

Tegernsee or Lake Tegern is situated in a pristine environment in southern Germany surrounded by the enchanting Bavarian Alps, only 50 km south-east from Munich. This tastefully decorated, quiet, dog-friendly, family-run hotel a few minutes' walk from Rottach-Egern, on the south shores of Tegernsee Lake, was a real delight. The staff team, coordinated by the lovely Agata, was professional and discreet, the public areas felt like a home from home. We were able to use the self-check-in facility (as we arrived after hours) without any problem. Our well-behaved lab was made to feel welcome and we gladly paid the doggie supplement. We chose to have breakfast on the terrace - could also have opted for the conservatory, especially set up for guests accompanied by their furry friends. : ) Very clean and friendly, quality toiletry products (shampoo, lotion, handsoap), with thought given to those small details designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible (especially in the kitchenette!)... Breakfast very good too. We would gladly return!

The location cannot be beat; mountains on all sides. The dining room is upscale rustic, very charming. Staff very friendly and helpful, food fresh and interesting. The most comfortable comforter on the bed that I've ever had. Loved that our room for 4 had a door for privacy for adults. Shower also great. We hiked Wallberg (bring spikes in winter), and did some sledding (we borrowed their wooden sleds). The whole weekend was cloudy at the lake but not where we were: above the clouds in the sunshine! Staff brought a nice cake for birthday, a surprise.

Amazing hotel. I didn’t expect anything, just booked one night to relax near the lake. But it was unexpected good! Room, swimming pool, service (I had a massage, which was also good) and the main for me is food! In the evening tasty dinner with good wine and view, and breakfast… that was really good, because it’s very rare in german hotels to have something not sweet for breakfast! Here is excellent selection of sweet and non sweet food, you really should try it!

A picturesque town surrounded by stunning landscapes,

A picturesque town surrounded by stunning landscapes, offering excellent hiking trails right from your doorstep. In the town center, you'll find a variety of amenities, including supermarkets, medical facilities, bakeries, and restaurants. We also visited Lidl and Rewe to stock up on groceries. Additionally, there is a DM drugstore nearby for personal care needs. Just keep in mind everything closes soon. Only REWE and LIDL and DM were up to 8 pm.

For us it was the trip, a family reunion and a funeral and memorial for an uncle a trip into the past. Spent many childhood summers and winters here, when my grandparents lived lakeside here. If you like Bavaria and are active, hiking, skiing, swimming, sailing, mountain biking, etc this is a great area. It is also a bit of the Hamptons of Munich, so pricey.

This was my third stay at this beautiful hotel, and I have had the chance to stay in a different building each time. All three were equally wonderful. The staff are exceptional—both the reception and restaurant teams are highly professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean, peaceful, and very comfortable. The views are simply breathtaking. The spa is also excellent (apart from the presence of children and babies, which can disturb the otherwise peaceful atmosphere), and my massage experience was extremely enjoyable. I have left the hotel with wonderful feelings after every stay and would happily return again. During my last two stays, there were children and babies in the spa, particularly around the pool. Due to the strong echo, the noise significantly affects the peaceful atmosphere. I would strongly recommend making the spa area adults-only. Another concern is the large number of bees during breakfast. Perhaps the hotel could create a designated bee-friendly area away from the dining tables to attract them elsewhere. I am highly allergic to bee stings, so having so many bees around poses a serious health risk for guests like me.

If you are looking to stay in a place where you can readily walk to all attractions, restaurants, cafes, bicycle rentals, boat and beach access, then this location may be a little out of the way. You should have a car. However, if you have a bike, it is easy to get around. Gmund is more of a villa and apartment town. The main activities along the Tegernsee are in the towns of Tegernsee and Rottach-Egern. The walk to the ferry boat is about 25 minutes.

Small town with good places to eat in a beautiful location. Guests at the hotels and apartotels may receive a free bus pass which is extremely useful for the 359 and 357 buses that travel lakeside. For the 4 nights there is a Euro 24 community charge on top of your booking.

This place is best for cycling and walking in the mountains. It's quite easy to get around on foot, there are lots of hotels, clothes shops and supermarkets, but there aren't too many places to eat and no proper embankment to enjoy the lake.

Bad Wiessee is a very nice town on the lake.

Bad Wiessee is a very nice town on the lake. You can easily walk around shops and along the lake with very beautiful view from the mountains surrounding. We ate at an Italian place (La Vela) which seemed to be quite popular as there were lots of people. The ability to join the other side of the lake as well as the other cities by boat is really nice day trip.
