United KingdomOne of the Best place we ever stayed with Family. We arrived late at night and Leonie gave us the most warmest welcome. The staff are very attentive, and the spa and pools are great. Many indoor and outdoor facilities for the children. Breakfast is amazing. During our stay Leonie and her team took great care of us and nothing was too much trouble. We left early in the morning and received a very generous and tasty breakfast for the road too. Can't recommend this place enough, we will be back!

The location cannot be beat; mountains on all sides. The dining room is upscale rustic, very charming. Staff very friendly and helpful, food fresh and interesting. The most comfortable comforter on the bed that I've ever had. Loved that our room for 4 had a door for privacy for adults. Shower also great. We hiked Wallberg (bring spikes in winter), and did some sledding (we borrowed their wooden sleds). The whole weekend was cloudy at the lake but not where we were: above the clouds in the sunshine! Staff brought a nice cake for birthday, a surprise.

Amazing hotel. I didn’t expect anything, just booked one night to relax near the lake. But it was unexpected good! Room, swimming pool, service (I had a massage, which was also good) and the main for me is food! In the evening tasty dinner with good wine and view, and breakfast… that was really good, because it’s very rare in german hotels to have something not sweet for breakfast! Here is excellent selection of sweet and non sweet food, you really should try it!

It's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history. It was the summer residency of Tsar Ferdinand. Great location and lovely staff. The room was very cozy and clean and the breakfast was fantastic.

In the town center, you'll find a variety of amenities, including supermarkets, medical facilities, bakeries, and restaurants.
We also visited Lidl and Rewe to stock up on groceries.
Additionally, there is a DM drugstore nearby for personal care needs.
Just keep in mind everything closes soon. Only REWE and LIDL and DM were up to 8 pm.

This was my third stay at this beautiful hotel, and I have had the chance to stay in a different building each time. All three were equally wonderful.
The staff are exceptional—both the reception and restaurant teams are highly professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean, peaceful, and very comfortable. The views are simply breathtaking.
The spa is also excellent (apart from the presence of children and babies, which can disturb the otherwise peaceful atmosphere), and my massage experience was extremely enjoyable.
I have left the hotel with wonderful feelings after every stay and would happily return again.
During my last two stays, there were children and babies in the spa, particularly around the pool. Due to the strong echo, the noise significantly affects the peaceful atmosphere. I would strongly recommend making the spa area adults-only.
Another concern is the large number of bees during breakfast. Perhaps the hotel could create a designated bee-friendly area away from the dining tables to attract them elsewhere. I am highly allergic to bee stings, so having so many bees around poses a serious health risk for guests like me.

For us it was the trip, a family reunion and a funeral and memorial for an uncle a trip into the past. Spent many childhood summers and winters here, when my grandparents lived lakeside here. If you like Bavaria and are active, hiking, skiing, swimming, sailing, mountain biking, etc this is a great area. It is also a bit of the Hamptons of Munich, so pricey.

If you are looking to stay in a place where you can readily walk to all attractions, restaurants, cafes, bicycle rentals, boat and beach access, then this location may be a little out of the way. You should have a car. However, if you have a bike, it is easy to get around. Gmund is more of a villa and apartment town. The main activities along the Tegernsee are in the towns of Tegernsee and Rottach-Egern. The walk to the ferry boat is about 25 minutes.

This place is best for cycling and walking in the mountains. It's quite easy to get around on foot, there are lots of hotels, clothes shops and supermarkets, but there aren't too many places to eat and no proper embankment to enjoy the lake.

Bad Wiessee is a very nice town on the lake. You can easily walk around shops and along the lake with very beautiful view from the mountains surrounding. We ate at an Italian place (La Vela) which seemed to be quite popular as there were lots of people. The ability to join the other side of the lake as well as the other cities by boat is really nice day trip.
