- From $121.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 37 reviewsWe sailed up from Virtsu port to Puise port and I booked this place several days before as it has a very unique, authentic, and comfortable look. I didn't think it would be much trouble at all to get from Puise to Altmõisa but it was more challenging than expected. Altmõisa said they couldn't send anyone for us and the taxi companies weren't answering calls or didn't find anyone willing to come and get us from the port. Fortunately one of the owners and staff from the Puise harbor inn was around and gave the 3 of us a ride to Altmõisa hotel. It would have been a long and late hike of about 2 hours if we wanted to stay at the hotel otherwise. I was in contact with the hotel and they graciously had someone stick around to serve us a late dinner which was very nice and accompanied by some local libations. They were very gracious in that regard and it serves testament to their dedication to please their guests.Guest review bynjsantanaEstonia
- From $168.98 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 304 reviewsThis place has it all for a cozy visit in beautiful Haapsalu. It is centrally located close to everything yet with possibility to park the car. When you step into the apartment you can see and feel that everything is thought through and designed with attention to detail with lots of care. Decorated exactly fit to the buildings atmosphere including nice pieces from local Estonian designers . Kitchen is equipped with all the necessities you would need if you decide to cook a meal. Living room has a comfy couch to snuggle up to watch tv or to read a book. Bedding and bed linen fit to a premium hotel assures a great night sleep. Also there is a restaurant in the same building that is a must visit if open. Best part is the hospitality, hostess makes sure you have everything you need by staying in contact even after checked in.Guest review byTriinEstonia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 109 reviewsIt was a very nice little house. Everything you would need for a good time was there. There were BBQ-s, place to make a nice fire and toast marshmallows, a private sitting place with a roof, nice saunas and kitchen equipped with basics. The house itself was quite noise cancelling as well because neighbouring housing was closeby and their blasting music was not heard inside the house.Guest review byLetlaneEstonia
- From $80.12 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,118 reviewsWe stayed at päeva villa during our 3-day cycling trip in estonia with a group of 16 cyclists. The place was perfect for our stay! The hotel is located very close to the city center and there's a variety of nice restaurants. The person working in the reception was very nice and helpful, sorting out our questions, giving recommendations on restaurants, etc.Guest review byTimoFinland

Best town in Estonia to visit with small kids (and a family dog), many playgrounds, quiet and safe. Must visit different beaches, Ilon's Wonderland, train Peetrike, library, museums and cafes around town.Guest review byPilleEstonia - 10.0

A charming, historical spa resort much favoured by the late 19th/early 20th Century Russian aristocracy, Haapsalu is faded now but still has an elegant charm. The old railway station (sadly disused since 1995), now a museum, was even specially constructed with an imperial pavilion so that the Tsar and his family could arrive and depart without having to wait with the commoners. The Promenaadi on the seafront is beautiful and the ruined castle in the town centre is well worth visiting. The Wiigi and Kuursaal restaurants are particularly good.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I visit yearly for the brilliant Old Music Festival and rarely other times, so I mainly have experience with Haapsalu in summer - a relevant aspect for a seaside spa town. It is a nice quiet place which at least in the summer has a varied and interesting cultural life amidst equally varied and interesting nature and historical arhictecture. My favourites are the galleries which usually feature themes and artists not seen in the big museums: local 19th c. furniture, fantasy photography, small stage scenery with dolls, all kinds of handicraft, you name it. It pays to look into the city library and cultural centre, the art school (three galleries!), Ilon's Wonderland, city museum in the old town hall... Also, if you take a bit of interest in the local history for context, a walk in the old town and the cemetery becomes quite informative. For drink and food, my personal favs so far are café Küünik and Talumehe kõrts in the old market, the restaurants Meraki and Micio nearby, a small Italian café Trühvlid&Sidrunid on Posti street, and the not too fancy but nicely realiable Mandarin restaurant on Lihula street. Usually, Haapsalu is just walkable but if needed, there's a bit of bus transport and decent taxi service.Guest review byRaulEstonia
