Located in the city centre. I'd rather say that's a luxury hotel. Very clean rooms, helpful stuff, comfortable bads. The breakfast was perfect. You have a lot of things to do in the lobby. Great pub located in the hotel. Highly recommend.

The staff could not of been more helpful, Ellen in the restaurant was so polite and lovely. the girls on reception were also so professional and polite ( I forgot to get their names) the hotel itself is very comfortable with spacious rooms and good facilities. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the food is exceptional! the breakfast spread is very versatile with every option you can think of. The hotel location is perfect for exploring kalix and is right beside the river which Is beautiful to walk on. Thank you to all the staff for your help with everything during our stay.

The check-in was friendly and fast. The room and view was awesome! Such a great view! The breakfast was so luxurious and we talked to a staff member, a young girl, she had been in Sweden a few years. Her hospitality and friendliness was to a 10✨. We will definitely recommend this hotel and we want to go back! I think we came at a day where the roof top bar was closed but then we headed out in Piteå and had a lovely evening. Definately a hotel and town we’re revisiting!

It’s definitely the best hotel in Abisko according to locals and personal experience. The twins room was very cozy and the bath was clean and warm. There is a helipad just right next to the hotel, you could meet the aurora there if you do not want to walk 15 mins to the lakeside (but not far, really). We also love the restaurant, we spent our dinner time there during our stays, staff was really helpful and cheerful.

Absolutelly amazing location. It is a lodge hotel if I have ever seen one. Easy access. Great views. Walking trails to the waterfall area. Services on site with camper parking, charging points, sauna, spa. We got an upgrade on our room cause the venti system was under maintenance so we got a room with a sauna. Very cosy. Just a 10/10

The city doesn’t have too much to offer.

The city doesn’t have too much to offer. Sure, you won’t get hungry, there are places to eat or have a coffee, but if you’re not doing one of the organised excursions, there is not much to do. The new part of town feels a bit like a larger scale shopping mall/plaza.

Clean and comfortable place.

Clean and comfortable place. Visited "Old town" now for first time and it was nice. Cafeterias were not open, but nice old houses and beautiful church really worth visiting. In Luleå shops are closing very early on Saturday and are closed on Sunday, it would be nice to do shopping longer. On Saturdays difficult to get table reservations to some restaurants, you might wan't to plan your dinner in advance and do booking before trip.

Although most popular in the winter Abisko is great in summer too. Very useful starting point for a number of walks in the nearby national park and surrounding area. Having a car would be helpful - we travelled in and out by train but still had a good time.

The Ice rooms were spectacular.

The Ice rooms were spectacular. The staff were stupendous, couldn't have asked for a better experience. Loads to do and see in the area, Seen the Aurora Borealis stepping outside our room was supper special, The Dog Sled ride was an exhilarating experience. Taking a breat to heat ourselves up at the Sámi visitors center was delightful. AND the food, YUM YUM YUM....

Gallivare is a mining town and in itself not particularly interesting for holiday takers but it provides good transport options to several of the national parks in the region. It is possible to make some nice walks in the immediate vicinity of the town but these alone are not a reason to travel there.

Jokkmokk was only a stopover for us.

Jokkmokk was only a stopover for us. We went dowtown to have dinner in the pizza shop. Quite strange shop Pizza in the north offered a rendeer pizza. The Shop is operated by nice crew, quick service. Besides the pizza shop there is a backery which I want to recommend.

I love the twin city Tornio/Haparanda.

I love the twin city Tornio/Haparanda. It is very quiet and friendly and the Torne river is just wonderful. It is a great experience to walk from one country to another and to enjoy long walks along the river. I also like the fact that the twin city is trilingual, you can communicate with most of the people in Finnish, Swedish and Meänkieli. And, of course, in English. You should absolutely visit this place! After my first visit in 2009 I came back lots of time.

We mainly used Kiruna as our hub in and out of the region.

We mainly used Kiruna as our hub in and out of the region. One night in the beginning before driving to Finland, and then a night at the end before flying home. We definitely could have spent more time here. There are a lot of activities you can book in the area. We loved visiting the Ice Hotel, as well as Abisko National Park.

It was cold around Christmas time, it’s a small city with everything you need but nothing more than that. I waited for the Aurora borealis but barely saw them these depends on the weather conditions I did expected the -25 and am happy that it didn’t got any colder than that

Abisko is a great place for northern lights, best things is joining the chasing tours. Otherwise, there are not a lot of sightseeing places. Getting around is not easy unless you have a car, but on the other hand, there isn't a lot of places you need to go.
