IrelandOur stay at Gáldu was truly magical, from the moment we arrived we were met with such a warm welcome. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, they taught us about Finish and Sami culture which was brilliant. Our room was spotless and had the most amazing views of the forest. The Gáldu team organised excursions for us to do which were fantastic (snowmobiling, ice fishing, husky sledding) and gave us other suggestions about what to do on the days we didn’t have anything booked. The food was exceptional and we went for full board, we were truly spoiled by each person we met. Our beds were so comfortable and we had the most amazing sleep each night. We spent every afternoon enjoying the spa which was extremely luxurious. They really made our trip so special. The hotel is the perfect viewing spot for the northern lights, we saw them so clearly from our bedroom on the last night.

Perfect place for a trip in Lapland! The location of the camping is great for seeing the Northern Lights since it is a place far from the city lights. We enjoyed the comfortable, clean and quiet cabin. The stuff is very welcoming and keep to help you with everything! You can easily access Ivalo centre by bus for food groceries and then cook in the camping’s shared kitchen.

Our host Mike, is a wonderful person. He was polite and friendly. The night we reached he took us on a spontaneous Aurora hunt, since the next two days were cloudy and sunny. We didnt manage to see the northern lights but we had good company and he put in real efforts to drive us for 5 hours straight to find one.

The location was excellent, the reception, skiing tracks, ski bus stop, restaurants, and the grocery store considered. The accommodation had the breakfast included, and the restaurant was very near. The breakfast was brilliant! The bed of the room was very comfortable, and the sauna was on the same floor.

We had long sunny days but lots of snow (if mushy).
We had long sunny days but lots of snow (if mushy). The scenery is spectacular and the town is functional - not touristy or tacky. Lots of local skiers. We stayed for 6 days and did almost every activity but wished we could stay longer and enjoy more hikes

Ivalo was absolutely beautiful , it is a small town but the experiences you may want to do are on the doorstep . This is a quieter peaceful Lapland resort which is ideal for adults wanting a peaceful retreat.If you have young children you may prefer Rovaniemi.

I stayed 5 nights in Saariselka and it was a magical experience, true winter wonderland. There is so much to do from husky / reindeer safaris, to skiing, to snow mobiles, to cross-country skiing, Northern Lights etc. I am from South of Finland so for me, visiting my home country, is always a joy. I love the culture, the people and the food. Saariselka was a wonderful experience and a fantastic way to explore Lapland!

Ivalo itself was cute.
Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Great resort place, west village right next to husky farm and horse farm. Decent planetarium also, but they need to learn a bit about running these shows :).
Do install the Aurora app if you are there for this. The Aurora alarm in rooms don't work, or atleast didn't work for me.

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between...
Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.
