Nice rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff, very central

The rooms are so nice and cozy. We chose an ocean view at it was just magical. The staff is also very nice. Breakfasts was delicious !

I reserved a room with a view of the port and it was fabulous! So homey, so clean, so comfy. Little things like places to hang your bathroom bag, hangers for clothes, shelvess for other clothes, bedside tables with places to charge your devices, the list goes on. The bed was yummy and just the overall layout of the room was well thought out. Breakfast comes with a view, the apero comes with a view. If you weren’t staying here, you would wand to come and hang out here. Great hotel! Fun fact: Claude Monet stayed here when he first came to the island.

It was centrally located and only a short walk to the dock. The owner was friendly. The breakfast had more variety of foods than I’ve usually seen in France.

We arrived at Hôtel Le Cardinal almost by chance, after having to change our accommodation for the very last day of our stay on Belle-Île, and without really knowing what to expect. What a wonderful surprise. From the moment we arrived, everything felt incredibly well cared for. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need, and we were especially grateful for the kindness and flexibility of the team, who were able to offer us an early check-in. What impressed us most, however, was the overall atmosphere and the quality of the service. The staff are genuinely attentive, warm and professional, and there is a real sense that a great deal of thought and effort has gone into every detail. The restaurant was another lovely surprise. The cuisine is quite original and sometimes unusual, but several dishes were absolutely delicious, and everything was beautifully presented. The setting itself is exceptional: the open terrace, the magnificent view over the sea, and in the evening the moonlight reflecting on the water created an unforgettable atmosphere. Honestly, throughout our stay we kept saying that the experience felt well above what we would normally expect from a three-star hotel — easily closer to a four-star level in terms of care, cleanliness, presentation and service. Our only regret is that we discovered Hôtel Le Cardinal on our final day and could stay for just one night. If we return to Belle-Île, this is absolutely where we would choose to stay. Thank you to the entire team for such a beautiful end to our trip. It is wonderful to find a hotel where the level of service truly lives up to high standards, and where you genuinely feel welcomed and cared for.
