We received a warm hospitable welcome that continued throughout our stay. Good English was spoken which we appreciated! The hotel was spotless inside and out. Our room was one of the smaller ones as the hotel was full and we booked late. It was fine though and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and nicely done with an excellent shower.
I enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pool - towels provided. We both enjoyed a delicious evening meal sitting outside looking at the sweeping view. The gardens are very well cared for and there is plenty of parking. The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes off the motorway but you don’t hear the traffic. We would definitely recommend the hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Good location with free parking directly opposite the hotel. The Ibis ticked all our boxes for a one night stay. Brive is a lovely town and we'll be back to explore more fully. Found a great Indian restaurant, Chez Manija, that I highly recommend if that's what you enjoy, a 15 minute walk away.

Even after a late summer deluge, Beaulieu was still vibrant - with several shops, plenty of restaurants and cafés / bars still open.
The Medieval Town is so impressive, and well worth a visit.
& Don't miss going for a walk along the river... so peaceful, a sight for sore eyes.

The town is adorable but after visiting the Abbey, there's not a ton to do. We used the village as a base to tour in the area. Our favorite was Lascaux, about 40 minutes away, with pre-historic cave drawings.

If you stay in the village one night might be enough with the parking restrictions and the feeling of being in a resort, no bakery, almost all shops for tourists , gone round in 3 hours. Probably better to stay outside and visit part of an itinerary

Do not miss the beautiful medieval quai, walking past the quaint cottages that once upon a time would have been boat storage for the fishermen and logging barge operators.
The tourist information office have well trained staff to assist your needs. Ask them what you should see while you are in the area? Also on offer is a guided walk around the historic area of the town with information plaques dotted around a circular walk. Get your free map from the tourist office. Boat trips are also available to book in the office and information on kayaking down the river. There is a beautiful newish nature reserve around a lake to explore before having coffee at one of the numerous cafes in the town.
You will wish you had more time to stay to see all the delights of Argentat!

It is a charming village, and its narrow streets are well worth visiting. Unfortunately, when I left there was a market, which would have been a pleasant experience. Local farmers and livestock breeders go there every week to sell their products, which means good quality at a reasonable price.

The old town was lovely and the church was natural, insomuch the inside was simple, not masses of gold around or huge effigies. There is a lovely river walk. The one downside was the lack choice for cafe's or restaurants and the lack of flexibility with their staff. Tables available, yes. Can we sit there, no. We stop serving in 15 minutes and it would be too inconvenient to fit anyone in.

We loved Brive as a destination, we stayed for 7 days, arrived at Brive airport, had to get a taxi, no public transport, paid 70euro to get taxi from boulevard Jules Ferry to airport on a Sunday. Yikes... Would recommend renting a car overall .

The town is so quaint and full of history.
The town is so quaint and full of history. The Abbie is VERY atmospheric. There are so many great places to eat in Beaulieu, and some brilliant stores selling fresh local produce. And there are many many lovely places to visit nearby in the region including Rocamadour, Turenne, Collogne-La-Rouge. I would not hesitate to visit again, or to recommend to people that like history in beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful little town with a medieval heart.
Beautiful little town with a medieval heart. Stunning river walk by the old quai with a bird sanctuary created from an old quarry site which can be accessed by car or the river walk. The Tourist Information Office is very helpful with a historical walk and map. Plenty of restaurants and cafes. Make sure you visit the quai and see the beautiful cottages that once housed the boats and fishermen for the river.
