A Land Of Limestone And Turquoise
Situated in a south-east part of France, the Gorges du Verdon region offers easy access to the French Riviera, as well as some jewels of its own. Its biggest, the Verdon Gorge, is a real natural wonder and one of Europe’s most mesmerising river canyons.
There you can enjoy climbing large limestone walls, some of which reach 700 metres high allowing you to admire the stunning, turquoise-coloured waters of the River Verdon below. The area offers more than 1,500 climbing routes and hiking trails, plus some great fly fishing and canoeing opportunities.
Gorges du Verdon is just a short drive from the beaches and boulevards of Nice, Saint Tropez and Cannes, and you pass plenty of picturesque towns and villages on your way.
