We highly recommend Maison 1896! Our stay was amazing from the first encounter at the desk with Alexia , to Mark our bellman , to the wait staff at breakfast and dinner. Our room was well appointed, the night service was a nice surprise.

A wonderful experience overall. Make sure to book a reservation in the restaurant Rotisseri. We had a memorable meal there, we highly recommend the degustation menu of ten courses and also the wine pairing of nine different wines. The service was impeccably great and professional, both at the hotel and in the restaurant. The hotel also has a wine shop with many local wines. The room is large and comfortable. Gevrey-Chambertin vineyards are just a few minutes walk or bike ride away.

The couple who own and run this place are super nice and friendly. The place is beautifully constructed and furnished, comfortable, and clean. The breakfasts were delicious and I liked that you could order what you wanted so that food wasn't wasted. I reserved a quadruple room for myself, my husband and two teens, and it was plenty roomy for the four of us, with good air conditioning, good mirrors and desks, etc. The bathroom was nice and clean and spacious, and the whole room had a modern feel. The breakfast was delicious with nice variety. There were pastries, meats and cheeses, yogurts, juice, and some hot foods as well. The location was right down in the heart of beautiful old Dijon. It was a perfect location, and only about a ten minute walk from the train station. We had rolling luggage and it was no problem getting to and from the hotel. We communicated with the hotel prior to arrival via message, and they were very helpful. This hotel was a great value and a very comfortable stay for us. We would stay here again.

The apartment is in a great location, close to city center and to a covered parking. It is clean and well equipped for a short stay; the staff was nice and very welcoming. I liked to have the bathroom and kitchen at ground floor and the bedroom in the mezzanine. Pets are welcome. Just in front of the reception there is space to take the luggage and bring it to the room, before going to the parking. Bonus: you can see the ruins of the altar of a church at the property :)

Lovely clean city can walk everywhere.

Lovely clean city can walk everywhere. Not much to see after 3 days at most unless you're filming a medieval period film or have to work or study. I say take a a late night walk through the city with the open empty pedestrian streets and no humans around. Quite impressive. But nah..not much else. Good afternoon stopover. Furthermore Dijon needs to let go of their co-dependent relationship with mustard. The seeds are no longer grown there. :) They are imported.

Beaune is the heart of France's beautiful, wine-centric Burgundy region. It's a good base for exploring the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, and has lots of restaurants, tasting rooms and wine shops. If you don't want to rent a car, you can rent bikes or walk to just about everything in town. We had an exceptional dinner at Soul Kitchen (make a reservation; there are only 12 seats) and also at La Ciboulette. The famous Hôtel Dieu - Hospices de Beaune is an exceptional historic site and the wine museum is fun and informative.

Loved that the breakfast was buffet as I had a hungry toddler with me. The fact that you can choose when to have your room cleaned was superb. Supermarket and bus stop few minutes away which was so convenient. How they have a 24hr machine to check you in even at 3am (my flight was delayed had no issues getting into my room) which was a big bonus!👍🏾

We stop in Nuits St Georges on drives from UK to South of France. Its perfectly mid way, great location from the motorway and has plenty to offer. The town center has been updated since our last trip and the mix of traditional architecture and modern stone and fountains in the center of town work well together. There are a number of bars and we sat at a really great bar with a fabulous vibe drinking great draught beer and people watching. After the long drive from Calais to Nuits St George we decided to skip a restaurant and hit the local Carrefour supermarket for wine and picnic items, but, in the past we've eaten at local restaurants and there are plenty to chose from. Great place to stop, relax and rewind for the onward journey.

I was en route between the south of France and the UK and Dijon was a convenient stop over. I found the hotel on the Booking.com website and it fitted my needs for a room and a meal after a long drive. It is a few kilometres from the centre of Dijon but on a main road to the city. The staff at reception and the restaurant made me feel welcome and the room was clean and well presented as were the public areas. I had a quiet and comfortable night's sleep in spite of it being at the time of the July heatwave. The facility was as described, it is not fancy but was more than adequate for my purposes.

A lovely little village, with bars for drinks and snacks and a restaurant. Great cave with a very knowledgeable man (and lots of stuffed animals in the cellars, which was a bit weird but interesting). There was also a very good wine shop, again with a very knowledgeable man, who knew about all the different wines he sold. The tourist information office is great, the staff were incredibly friendly and spoke very good English. They also had some lovely gifts. Lovely to wander around, very quiet and tranquil (and obviously home to some incredible wines!)

This was our third visit to Dijon as our daughter is studying there. So many places to eat and drink. Some fantastic finds and we are always finding new ones. Le Jacquemart is a great place for a drink or to eat. Steak and chips and a bottle of wine there is a must do ! The Blue Dog is in a lively square and is another place for a good drink and easy food. There are so many other gems we have discovered and the list is always growing. Dijon is also so easy to navigate if you stay in the centre, if you like to wander around and check out shops as well as bars and restaurants, its perfect.

Breakfast was good, as we're the morning staff. When I asked for a map of Beaune on arrival, I was directed to a rack of tourist leaflets, none of which were helpful!. The following morning when I asked for a map of Beaune, I was given one immediately by a very pleasant receptionist. I could not get an Internet connection in my room. There was no socket for the kettle, had to use the socket in the middle of the bed.
