Castle Town Hotel is an attractive hotel with great free parking, a nice pub, good food, and excellent service. I am glad I stayed there. When I arrived earlier in the day, I was able to stretch my legs and walk down to the harbor. I saw all of the incredible flagstone on the seashore and looked at old buildings left from when Castletown made its fortune in exporting the flagstone.

Got great friendly welcome by Tom. Most accommodating and helpful in arranging my taxi transfer for the following day (from John O Groats back to Thurso). Excellent food (Rancher Burger) in his bar replenished energy after a long day's cycle. Breakfast the following morning in Red Pepper (with friendly helpful service) set me up lovely for my final day's cycle to John O Groats. Really enjoyed my stay in the Holborne. Thank you all. Thank you Tom.

Everything surpassed expectations.

Everything surpassed expectations. I had the most peaceful night that I can remember, the facilities were spot on, the views were spectacular and one immediately felt a peacefulness that I can only describe as sublime. The caravan itself was immaculate and I particularly liked the decking which had double doors opening out on to it. The provisions left were outstanding, the layout and size of the rooms made it easy for us of advanced age to navigate , the beds comfortable and the washing and showering facilities very clean and easy to use.

The proprietors Euan & Emma were excellent company and very attentive to guests' needs. The hotel had an excellent menu with accompanying wines, beers, spirits, if required. The hotel also had an extensive range of locally-produced spirits. The accommodation was excellent and well-equipped. The only down-side was the lack of TV reception - although being without TV was somewhat of a blessing!
