I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was brilliant. From the staff to the location and the room I cannot fault anything. The restaurant was exceptional and was probably one of the best meals of our entire two and a half week UK tour. The staff are so friendly. Rooms large and clean. Beds very comfortable. You also get access to an indoor pool area with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. I perfect hotel for the stunning city of Durham.

We loved absolutely everything! The staff welcomed us with warmth, and they really couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The hotel is beautiful and set in wonderful surroundings. We managed walks around the area, which was great. The food was excellent, and the breakfast, in particular, was fabulous. Should we be in the area again, we will be sure to pay another visit. Thank you all for making our stay a perfect one.

Proximity to Durham and local cafe, pub and restaurant. Spacious room and free parking. Reception staff were wonderful.

The one-person room I was in was cute and cozy. It had everything needed for my one-night stay, and some friendly little welcome treats. The bed was also good quality and I slept well. There wasn't any breakfast, but there are lovely cafés quite near, as it is at a very central location.

The hotel was exceptional. Staff was great. The menu and food were great. The grounds are beautiful. There's a pub in the hotel and it was great. All round beautiful experience. This is an exceptional gem .

Right in the middle of town. Easy to walk to everything

An absolute luxury it was to stay here. My room was beautiful and so clean (and i dont say that lightly). The food here is so nice. I ate breakfast here for the 2 days. It was so fresh and cooked to order including a continental syle buffet too. My friends came to meet me and we all had dinner here too, which we all commented on how nice it was. The restaurant is beautiful. The following day I attended a wedding that was being held here. What a venue! North East England is so underrated. Be sure to book here if you ever pass through. You'll love it!

Great breakfast & room was as expected

Family feeling, welcome, quite and comfortable rooms, coffee and team available on rooms, great English breakfast. Great countryside for an early morning jog!

Beautiful both inside and out set in the rolling hills of Northumberland. The interior fittings and furniture are both tasteful and occasionally quirky.

Beautiful guesthouse and staff genuinely friendly, room very clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very generous and location excellent . Highly recommended.

The room was tastefully decorated and was top quality. The beds was very comfortable. I was in a twin room with my sister and we both agreed it was the best night's sleep we'd had in ages. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening meal and breakfast and the food was very tasty with large portions.
