Everything. The location is great. We stayed in “The Stable” which was just stunning! It had a kitchen/living area and bedroom with a really big spa bath (which was great with the bottle of Prosecco we were able to add on). Myself and my husband both agreed it was the best sleep we have ever had. The bed was really comfortable and neither of us woke up with our usual aches and pains. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a great meal and then we enjoyed the continental breakfast the next day, that we were able to bring back to our Suite, with cheeses, meats, the most amazing bread and pastries, pancakes, waffles, yogurts… the list goes on. We didn't miss a cooked breakfast at all. A 20 minute drive from Whitby meant we had a great day out after a very peaceful night away. I would recommend St Hildas Boutique a thousand times over and can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

Our room was huge, with a very comfortable bed, stunning views, and a nice big bathroom. The grounds are exquisite, and the forest walk was lovely. We loved everything about our stay. The best part about staying at Crathorne Hall though is the magical staff. Martin and Gloria made us feel like family, and their personal attention was the difference that made the difference. THANK YOU!

Middlesbrough is a diverse town, with different cultures living side by side, there are cultural experiences to explore around the area. I frequented various eating establishments in the Town Centre, none of these disappointed. The Hotel is situated where you can get to all amenities, with Public Transport/Taxis or drive yourself.

I had only stayed one night (hottest day of the year!)

I had only stayed one night (hottest day of the year!) and out early for specific vist to the nearby Extension of the National Railway Museum at Shildon. However there is another rail connected museum next to Darlington North rail station as well. Many other attractions in area. There are buses as well as reasonable rail network although not practicable if time limited like me. Durham with Castle and Cathedral as well as Riveleaux Abbey are nearby. I was going to a specific event location, so did not plan on exploring further

If only the funicular was back in service it would have been heavenly. It's well worth the hundreds of steps down to and up from the beach, but anyone with mobility problems, or with young children and buggies may find this difficult. Beach huts can be hired if you don't want to carry stuff around all day. There are good walks to be had and safe sandy beaches with views of cliffs and boats. You can learn to surfboard thre, and hire surf boards and wet suits if youre feeling in need of a new challenge. There's a good range of accommodation, good transport links

It's OK in its way but not what you'd call a tourist resort.

It's OK in its way but not what you'd call a tourist resort. The sort of place you go to if you have to. Noisy dual carriageway right through the middle of the place does it no favours. Some interesting historic dockside/seaside areas if you seek them out, like Headland (I think it's called). Cameron's brewery tap might well be worth a visit if you're into beer but it's only open Thursday to Sunday, I believe.

Staithes is an absolutely delightful fishing village.

Staithes is an absolutely delightful fishing village. It is quite difficult to get to by car as cars are not allowed to park in the village so you have to park at the top of a very steep hill. I had my elderly mother with me so had to drop her off down at the harbour, drive up the hill to park and then walk back down to the harbour. On leaving I had to do the reverse. Walk up the very steep hill, drive to the harbour to collect my mum and then drive back up the hill. Whilst this caused some inconvenience I absolutely loved Staithes. It is unspoilt in my opinion. The only pub in the village The Cod and Lobster serves food until 8pm. It is rather pricey but the food was lovey. I would not hesitate to stay in Staithes again. It was roughly a 20 minute drive to Whitby.

Stockton is not known as a tourist destination, and there is a lot of druggy-looking people, but the barrage, the pubs, the restaurants, and the walks are all fascinating and the town rewards exploration. It doesn't seem well designed for walking, as many routes are chopped up by roads and the river, but plan carefully and that can work, too.

A nice market town with easy countryside walks. The bakery is a highlight, 70p for scones and £1.50 for a generous slice of cake. The town has a Sainsburys, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, M&S food, Iceland, and Heron Foods. It's easy to walk to Guisborough Forest and join the Cleveland Trail.
