Le Gosier is nice but explore the island as there are many great areas and beaches. Plage de la Grands Anse is magnificent and there are great eating options there too. Place a l'autre bird is a nice beach also with great local food.Guest review byDeniseBarbados - 8.0

Saint Francois has hidden restaurant gems, including some that are not listed on any app but deserve to be recognized. Special mention to L'Autre Version, which has been totally renovated, is under new management, and has an amazing menu and wine list. On the negative side, Saint Francois needs to have its roads renovated and add more parking spots.Guest review byJean-PierreUnited States - 8.0

Very cooperative and helpful staff always ready to help and make your stay enjoyable. Only drawback is the restaurant is only open limited times and with a limited menu. Food is good but not available in the evenings. Otherwise, an excellent place to stay.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
The local charm and history of old town.
The local charm and history of old town. The down to earth manners of people and relaxed pace of life whether greeting strangers on the street or the enhanced road safety for pedestrians. Unspoiled and not tourist minded which may not suit everyone. If you like club med, stay away!Guest review byDenisAustralia - 6.0

Not too bad ok restaurants run down areas but that's like a lot of the Carribbean buses to and from ok but again the Carribbean so sometimes they just don't turn up or stop running altogether some nice beachesGuest review bysimonUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Cute town, has everything you need.
Cute town, has everything you need. It's less about history and more about inter-action with the locals. The open market near the "Hotel de Ville" was the high point of our trip. The chronic lack of parking is a SERIOUS issue.Guest review byJ.W. RiedelCanada - 6.0

Anse betrand is beautiful and there were shops and bakers to get your morning baguettes and croissants. Dining options were limited and not many bars open at night. It was quite expensive for dining and shopping though. But some Things were cheap like French wine and rum!Guest review byCharlieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The area has lots of farming activity so the air is clean and environment is quiet. It's for the easy going person looking to rest relax and enjoy good natural terrain and views. Could also be good for a landscape photographer. The slave memorial and jail is also a nice historical and educational site to visit as it is set in a park like environment near a former arrival port for slaves, now a fishing port.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Book a reliable taxi for trip back to airport.
Book a reliable taxi for trip back to airport. I booked the day before and it did not show up. We were very grateful that someone from the residence gave us a lift! Very nice people from Guadeloupe and ready to help! The bus also comes nearby and we used it to get to a grocery store and to the warf to take the ferry boat to the island. Just be patient when it comes to the time waiting for bus.Guest review byHeatherCanada - 8.0

Enjoyed the fact that it was not a big crowded resort- 8 bungalows and 3 apartments in the main building meant small amount of guests; safe, gated enviroment where privacy and laid back, leisurely passtime was possible. Only drawback, for those who are beach lovers,, the best beach was at the village of St. Anne, about 15-20 minutes drive away, but worth the drive! However, a short drive into Saint-Francois where there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Beware! if you are driving, the locals tend to drive extremely fast on the very narrow and pot hole roads !Guest review byPauletteCanada
