Where can I start, excellent Host Manolis . The best caring host I have seen so far. Always helpful, sitting outside so no one blocks the driveway. There is a Mini Market downstairs and a coffee place next door. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms and the apartment are huge. Convenient to all locations, very helpful Manolis to tell you how to get there and where to go. I highly recommend this place near the beach, you can walk there. Will stay again when I go to Chania. It also has a bathtub and a shower separately, which is very rare, and a washing machine. It's exactly what everyone needs. There is a lot of History , the people we met were very friendly, food was great and it was easy to see the city on the buses. The museums were amazing and interesting . Amazing Resort and extensive facilities on site. Staff are amazing. Also one of the best mani/pedi I ever had at the salon. Resort is about 30 minutes from airport, and would say for a 5* Europe resort, this lives up to expectation, but don't compare to a 5* Caribbean or Mexico Resort, so bear that in mind. We stayed at the Ocean view room which had spectacular views. The Rocky beach was just fantastic with the lounges and beds, and considering how busy this resort is, never noticed it and never felt overcrowded, and you never had to reserve benches or lounges by the beach or pool, there was more than enough to go round and even more spare. A la Carte restaurants that were amazing and my favourites are Umi (Sushi), Azzuro (Italian), Thalassa for breakfast & lunch, Poseidon. A real let down of the restaurants was Nami, only delicious items were the Starters. Best place to stay when in Crete if you are looking for a mix of relaxation at the beach and exploring the island. Great sandy beaches, cool beach bars, beautiful old town filled with vibrant clubs and restaurants. Agios Nikolaos is well worth a visit, this being our second time here after a day trip last year. This year we stopped here for 2 nights at the end of a tour around the island. We could probably have stayed for another night, 2 more at the most. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to visit, both during the day and night. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] .
