FranceOur stay was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A big thank you specifically to Chris, Vaso and Evi for their warm welcome, their generosity and their help in planning our visit of the island.
The breakfast was delicious and the portions were very generous. We very much appreciated enjoying our breakfast in our room or next to our private pool with a wonderful view of the port and the old town.
Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.
We were also touched by the champagne bottle and the massage session that were offered to us by the hotel as a honeymoon gift.
We also wanted to thank Maria Manaroli for the wonderful massage and for her professionalism.
In a nutshell, our stay couldn't have been any better and we would surely come back on our next visit of Chania.

GreeceThe staff were very polite and helpful, the location di great, you can just walk 5 mins and reach the old port which is great. The rooms were comfy, big, very clean and surprisingly quiet considering how close to the center the hotel is.
The breakfast was good, the hotel also has underground parking with 7 spots (so it's first come first served) but it's a bit tricky to park there as it's not very large.

She made calls to the port authority, numerous times, and helped us figure out alternatives. The strike did not happen but we would have been prepared without her.

The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had and timings were great, no need to get up early and rush, full breakfast available until 11am. Our duplex room amply met our needs and on the last two we were offered a free upgrade to an even better room with terrace and larger shower rooms with separate toilets. overall a fabulous stay in an ideal location. We were also offered a free bottle of wine on day seven, taxi ordered for our drive to airport on the last day and unprompted supplied a takeaway breakfast.

From the moment I arrived, I was treated like family by the hosts, who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and happiness throughout my stay. The apartment/suite itself was nice and clean and located in a serene area, just a short walk from the beach. peaceful atmosphere
One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible hospitality. The hosts were not only attentive but also incredibly kind. They even helped me clean my car for the rental place wouldnt charge me from the dirty drive to Balso Beach, which was such a thoughtful gesture that I truly appreciated.
If you're looking for a beautiful place to unwind, with hosts that treat you like their own, I can't recommend this apartment enough. It was an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to return! Five stars all the way!

The hotel staff is incredibly kind and always ready to help. The facilities are fantastic — clean, well maintained, and very family-oriented. They even cooked fresh food for our baby every day and delivered it right on time with a smile!
The food is excellent, and there’s a great variety of activities for both kids and adults. Having a supermarket inside the hotel is super convenient for last-minute needs like sunscreen or diapers. There’s also a car rental service and several tour operators on-site offering nice excursion packages.
We loved the thoughtful touches, like the welcome basket with wine and fruits and the olive oil farewell gift. The bus to Chania stops right in front of the hotel, and the little train excursion to the lake is a perfect morning activity.
The hotel app is also very useful — it has all the information you need for your stay.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and took great care of us. The resort is super clean, and our suite was just beautiful and spacious with 2 full baths and great a/c. The food was wonderful in both the main dining area and the resort restaurants. I am an American fluent in Greek so I connected with the staff. They are really nice people. We were there in late July so I don't know if the resort was at full capacity or not, but there were plenty of chairs available on the beach, plenty of room on the pool decks and in the pools. The water park at the back of the resort was so much fun, too. If you don't want to walk to the beach (which seems far, but it's really not) you can go via golf cart. The staff is there to ensure you have and enjoyable stay, and we certainly did. Τα περασαμε πολη καλα, Happy!!

Avra Imperial Hotel provided us with an exceptional service ranging from reception to housekeeping service, I received a fabulous treatment by the hotel staff they provided me with a meal at midnight due to arriving late. Adding to that they perfectly communicated via email, fast and useful responses that provided all of the necessary information regarding the shuttle service that was provided. The restaurants at the hotel were superb offering international and local cuisines that were so tasty, moreover the pool restaurant provided delicious drinks and spirits that just set the mood for the overall atmosphere of the pool, and during the week there were several activities varying from zumba classes and relaxing piano and jazz performances. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and unique !!!

Perfect location. Walking distance to the old town and beach. Hotel valet parking was also available.
Hotel had a serene calm feel. Very clean and rooms were quality.
Breakfast was excellent, great restaurant quality food where the variety changed daily. The restaurant even presented me with a complimentary birthday cake which was a lovely surprise and made the day even better!
Staff were brilliant, from reception to the concierge to everyone in the restaurant, facilities and even the Pianist that gave light evening entertainment.

Aphrodite, the owner, is really nice and very efficient and helpful. Breakfast is great, with a large variety of dishes, fruits, vegetables, and desserts. The rooms are nice and spacious with great shower. The location for beach lovers couldn't be better - right on the beach. It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the village center, but there are tavernas, mini market , supermarket etc, just next door

We had an issue with our air conditioner and they helped us switch to a similiar room the same day also, helped us book taxies.
The food was excelent, there were 3 restaurants in the facility so no croudness was felt in the restaurants at any point during our stay.
The view was stunning and the room was spacious and clean

The view from our room was fantastic, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the hotel's restaurant is perfect. One of the best things is a free shuttle to the Chania center where it is very problematic and expensive to find a parking, so we've used this service almost every evening!

The staff were really lovely. The room was great, and we had a massive terrace on the 6th floor. They kindly accepted a special request from us too. This is a perfect place to stay if moving around Crete by bus especially.

Really wonderful - beautiful promenade surrounded by restaurants and shops ; lovely old town with scores of winding lanes full of places to eat and shop. Also historical sites worth a visit. Very busy in June, would probably go in September next time.

For those who want a quiet get-away and yet close shopping, Kissamos is hard to beat. Close to the port for Balos-Gramvousa excursions and secluded for a wonderful relaxed time with your loved one. Gramvousa Restaurant is a must, a short drive to a memorable dining experience. Loved snorkeling and fish sightings around rocky areas. Pictures cannot capture the panoramic breath-taking setting.

I love Agia Marina—it has beautiful beaches, great restaurants, plenty of shops, and stunning views. You can easily walk to Platanias or Stalos. It’s also easy to reach Falasarna Beach and further on to Elafonissi Beach and the Samaria Gorge.
Agia Marina also has excellent tourist infrastructure—you’ll easily find car rentals, bus stops with frequent connections to Chania, as well as many beachfront bars and cafés. It’s a great place both for a quiet and relaxing holiday and for a more active stay (water sports, excursions). Another highlight is the island of Agioi Theodoroi visible from the shore, which adds to the charm of the landscape.

The main road through Platanias looks very touristy, noisy and unauthentic but the many delightful beach front restaurants are well away from the road, and a beautiful place to dine and watch the sunset.

Kato Daratso is a popular place where many Greeks go for holliday. It is always a good sign if there just as many locals as tourists. The vibe is tranquile and everyone was friendly. There is much untouched beatifull nature.

The relaxed atmosphere and the lovely apartment at Falassarna beach studio apartments. Excellent breakfast served in the courtyard overlooking the beach.
The apartment was spotlessly clean with stunning views from the balcony. Plenty of tavernas nearby serving great food. A lovely beach within walking distance and Big beach a few mins drive away. We recommend having a car. Also walk up to Ancient Falassarna historical site. It is a 20 min walk and well worth it

Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite .
The beach is clean and easily accessible .

A great place for a different experience of Crete.
A great place for a different experience of Crete.
When you are in Chania, its nice to experience something new, especially when you have been before.
1 hour direct bus from Chania.
Small town
Very nice views, river and harbour.
Plenty of hiking trails.
Lots of resturants to choose from.
Several artisan shops.
River water was cold, making sea water extremly refreshing.
Sun rises can be watched.

Excellent hotel!
Excellent hotel! I had a very pleasant stay at Porto Alegre Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the service was professional and friendly, and the location was very convenient. Everything was well organized and the staff were helpful throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel!
