Lamia is just the capital of the perfecture of Mainland Greece! So there is not much to do in the city if you are there on vacation except the castle and hot springs around Lamia as also trekking routes around Lamia

This is a place for those who like to walk, like nature and fresh air. It is not hot. We found a tavern nearby with very fresh and tasty food for lunch. In a small supermarket we bought some food for breakfast. They also proposed a variety of honeys of excellent quality.

We were very happy with the staff.

We were very happy with the staff. They were super polite, helpful and cheerful. The lobby was very nice, yet the rooms were a bit outdated but still what more important - clean and comfy! Recommended for one night stay when break-downing a trip (Note: due to the speed limitations in Greece these 13 km detour from highway of Lamia to the hotel takes around 40 mins! But the view of the mountain - as per my uploaded pic - from the lobby and the song of the cicadas is amazing!)

If you're looking for sandy beaches, this place isn’t it, but the small rocks are easy to walk on and perfect for swimming. It can get windy, as it’s a popular spot for kitesurfing, but the mornings offer very calm waters until around 1 PM. As a runner, it was amazing to wake up in the morning and go for a run along the water. The route is about 5 km from one end to the other, offering stunning views the entire way. We didn’t get a chance to eat outside of NISI because the food was so good that we wanted to try more dishes. Every meal was a delight, making it hard to resist staying in to enjoy the excellent cuisine.

A small village that gets very crowded on winter holidays, I wouldn't stay there for more than 2 nights as there aren't that many options for food or drink in Pavliani. 2-3 days are ideal to familiarize yourself with the place and explore the nearby walks and villages which are very interesting and beautiful.

I would like to make a correction of my original review. Because we checked out one night earlier of a three night booking, our hosts graciously and generously reimbursed 300 euros of the 527 euros total that we paid for our stay.

I think Kamena Vourla is fine for a long weekend or three days. You can have a traditional family holiday relaxing by the pool, walking around, and eating together, if you like. If you want to ride a bike or drive to nearby landmarks, that is possible, too. If you are taking the waters, your doctor may suggest longer. 3 days twice a day is a good start.
