- From $129.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 185 reviewsThe spa was amazing, the play room for children was great with lots of toys for the little ones, and the attentiveness of the staff was awesome. We had a toddler with us and they prepared the room especially for her with a baby bathtub and a crib, and they prepared two separate beds pushed together, because we let them know in advance we would be sleeping together in the same bed, and it had a special filler in the middle so it functioned as one big bed. It was great. The breakfast had lots of options in general, but very meat-focused and oily, quite the Hungarian style. But at the end of the day, it was a super pleasant experience, we enjoyed it a lot and felt really welcome with out little one :)Guest review byAnitaHungary

We went to Miskolc to see the thermal caves and the castle.
We went to Miskolc to see the thermal caves and the castle. The castle and the caves was closed. Lillafured was nice though. Had a bad experience on the V1 train/tram though. We travelled as a family of 4 from South Africa. We purchased Hungary Travel Passes upfront to make it easy to travel. It is also affordable for a 30 day pass. We were under the impression that we could use the Hungary Pass on all urban transport within Hungary. It certainly worked well in Budapest. We arrived at about 12h30 in Miskolc and immediately boarded the V1 train/tram to Lillafured. We only spent 2 nights in Miskolc. At about 13h20 an inspector came around on the V1 tram/train and asked for our tickets. We showed him our Hungary Passes. He was very agro and intimidating and treated us like criminals. He could only say fine and police in English. We immediately had to pay 24000 ft as a fine. We would gladly have paid the correct ticket had we known. A young man stepped closed who assited as an interpreter. The inspector did not want to listen to any reason. We did not know that we had to buy another ticket and besides all notices concerning public transport in Miskolc is in Hungarian. My kids were quite traumatised by the event since they never received a fine in their life. We just feel that the situation could have been handled diferently and a bit more civilised. There should be more assistance for tourists in this regard. I will not go to Miskolc again. Bad experienceGuest review byLeonSouth Africa - 6.0

We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town.
We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town. We were grateful to find the information centre as we didn't know the area. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting the delightful wines. The whole region is very picturesque, with rolling hills and vineyards. We went for a short drive to Tarsal to see the statue of he Blessing of Christ. A little further on we saw the quaint St Therese on top of another hill. We had dinner both nights at our hotel where the food was fabulous! I particularly loved the famous local wine Tokaj Aszu! It was great to get out into the countryside away from the big city and taste the local wines and local produce. A highlight of our trip.Guest review byJenniAustralia - 10.0

There was a holiday going while I visited Miskolc sothe shops etc were mostly closed. A nice enough toinen to voisit though it seemed a bit quiet one. It was a bit difficult to find the center of the tien when I started from the train station In bus station the system was confusibg. There were Electronic displays for departing busses but they were apparently not updated. The staff there sermed not to be too service orientedGuest review byJussiFinland - 8.0

Miskolctapolca is a small town, which has a lot to offer in every weather. There is an extraordinary Cave Bath and the Ellipsum Spa and Fitness. Once you have enough of bathing, you can try bobsled, rowing a boat or just taking a ride on a bike. Definitely recommend a visit to Lillafured by the forest train and a Miskolc Zoo. Every day in a week you can do a completely different activity here!Guest review byPetraSlovakia - 10.0

Mad is the perfect destination for wine tasting at small, family wineries. It has a great appearance, having been refurbished recently, but keeping the old-world feeling. You can easily walk everywhere. The history of Mad is important, and many historical buildings have been preserved, and are open for visitors. The main road from Miskolc has been widened and repaved, so driving there is easy and much safer than before. It is quiet, safe, and inviting.Guest review byGeneHungary - 6.0

We were puzzled with the city: it has a long history, but its landscape is dominated by the industry. There is a medieval castle, but it was closed at the time of our visit due to …. reconstruction! I really don’t want to see it after it is done, a very peculiar approach to historical monuments. On the other hand, we enjoyed a visit at Avas tower offering a nice view of the city plus a good coffee and drink bar. We skipped the local museum and went to Bukki National Park, which was a wonderful experience.Guest review bySlawomir LotyszPoland
