Hotel in Sayan, Ubud
Located in Ubud, 2 miles from Blanco Museum, Arya Arkananta Resort & Spa provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center and a garden. We stayed in the private one-bedroom honeymoon villa and it was absolutely lovely. The villa is beautiful and charming, and the pool was amazing especially in the heat. Everything was very clean and in good condition. The staff are definitely a highlight: Everyone was very friendly, kind, and helpful. Many speak English very well, which was much appreciated given our limited Indonesian. The room included breakfast and afternoon tea, which were delicious and very welcome given how expensive Ubud itself is. The menus for breakfast alternate every two days, and the afternoon tea snack changed each day. The variety was much appreciated. We also ate at the hotel on Nyepi, and the food is good quality and not that much more expensive than restaurants in Ubud center. The location is wonderful as well: Quiet and peaceful in the middle of rice paddies, but close to Ubud center by taxi, bike, or shuttle (or walking, but some parts of the walk are on busy roads so be cautious). We took the yoga class offered by the hotel one morning, which we very much recommend! The instructor was excellent, and the yoga pavilion with the view of the rice paddies is a beautiful touch. I also got a massage at the spa, which was very lovely (though notably more expensive than spas in Ubud center).

I loved the Seminyak area, there were plenty of restaurants and nightlife locations very close by. The only negative I can think of would be the traffic in the area but it’s understandable once you get there. Scooters are the easiest way to get around in Bali.
Seminyak wasnt awful, but it definitely wasn't the best experience we've had. 3 days into my trip, my phone was stolen; snatched right out of my hand while i was on a motorbike. The people/police weren't really helpful and we had no way of going back to our hotel at that time. Other than that, it was fine. Bali Ayu hotel was beautiful, very relaxing and private. Our travel guide was the best part of pur experience to be honest. We contacted Wayan who had peovided a pick up from the airport and the driver ended up staying with us through changing 3 hotels. He also sent us a travel guide; Bonchu who was more that wonderful. Very polite, informing, punctual and patient with us asking touristy questions all the time.
Sanur was our absolute favorite location during our 17 days in Bali. We stayed in Ubud, Seminyak & Nusa Lembongan. Sanur is the perfect location for beaches, amazing restaurants and cafes, fantastic shopping & by far, the nicest people ever! You can ride your bike all through town, it’s extremely safe. Sanur is an ideal vacation spot for everyone of all ages!
Kuta is diverse of experience, from serene, lay back, and quiet place to action pack adventures to All night partying in one place. Kuta on beach front, i recommend some lay back less crowded place. They are professional surfer around to help you with a small fee. Cheap and nice Balinese Massage are nearby (800k-1M for an hour) Shopping district branded are available on the mall (beachwalk mall) or just go at the back of the kuta 1 street away (2-5min walk) is Legian where you can bargain clothes, bags anything you can think off. this is a big flea market! there are beach clubs and party clubs nearby. For food, Kuta is on diverse international culture on food. International cuisine are everywhere - there are some locals too. Nice Villas on a fraction of a cost. Very nice long beach, powdery sand, and not so warm beach water - refreshing to take a dip or do surfing. other activities are also available, like 5D movie, Sling rides, club hopping etc.
Lots of things to see. Lovely to wander around the side streets and looking at the Balinese houses.but it is very touristy with too many shops. A beautiful town spoilt with mass tourism.
Great place. Lots to see and do. We spent 5 days in total. Could have spent longer but its always good to leave wanting more rather than run out of stuff to do. Highlights include a sunrise visit to the top of Mount batur (great views of bali and lombok), monkey forest (great fun with those pesky critters, had three of them jumping on me like a tree at one point!), tegalalang rice fields (very picturesque), Sayan terrace (great views), and white water rafting (very wet, particularly as we did it in the rain!). Plus loads of glorious temples and intriguing dances and parades. Even some bars to watch the late night 2am football!
Very busy part of Bali, lots of restaurants, hotels and stores but very entertaining and decent beach for surfing. If you want to experience real Balinese culture, maybe go elsewhere, but still nice for 2-3 days at the beginning or end of a trip.
Loved to see Bali culture in UBUD. Very friendly people. Very religious. There are good vegan rstaurants too. Only issue is road. Too narrow roads so travelling is always take time.
Ubud is changing, as many world destinations are. Still, this remains the perfect destination to get away from the noise and clutter of southern Bali. Select your hotel based on your needs. Ubud has so many excellent and affordable choices. Call the property if you have questions. The hotels here really try to serve you,but know first the type of experience you want and you will be rewarded.
Nusa Dua is South of the airport and more secluded that other parts. It is perfect for couples or families who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotels are stunning and perfect for relaxing and sun bathing. The beaches in Nusa Dua are much cleaner than other parts of Bali. You can rent a scooter and drive to Uluwatu Temple and see more of the island. I recommend Bukit Cafe in Uluwatu for lunch. 2 nights of the week we took a taxi to Seminyak for dinner (recommend Merah Putih & Motel Mexicola) and drinks as restaurants in Nusa Dua are either inside the hotel or very basic. Overall if you're looking for quieter environment Nusa Dua is great!
For several weeks and months, the MaxOne Hotel has always offered us something that resembles home. A spectacular feature of the hotel itself is the huge pool on the roof, where you can see half of Bali. Whether you are staying for a long time or spontaneously for one night, you are always warmly welcomed. But the highlight of the Max One Hotel Bukit Jimbaran is the staff. We have grown very fond of them all. They are all super great people, helpful and kind. The price-performance ratio is great. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Ubud
I had a wonderful stay at Kailash Hotel! It's situated in a peaceful and quiet area, close to beautiful waterfalls. The staff were exceptionally nice, supportive, and responsive; their smiles made me feel right at home. The room was consistently clean and tidy, and I particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. I also appreciated how accommodating they were with my last-minute booking change, ensuring I didn't lose any money. Kailash Hotel is a fantastic place to relax and unwind in Bali. I'll definitely return on my next visit!
Rooms are big and clean staff are always friendly and helpful.Great breakfast and nice big pool is cool not like all pools in Bali. You are the bypass so pickup is easy . Quick walk to the beach and main street of Sanur. But there is a shuttle bus if you don't like to walk .The Hotel is on the bypass but you can't hear the traffic.Great hotel if you have alot of day trips. With great access for the drivers less detour for the drivers .I would recommend Grand palace hotel to stay if you're visiting Bali.
Tastefully and thoughtfully laid out, much attention to detail, beautiful decor. Comfortable bed, many subtle details that made this an exceptional hotel. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. I especially liked the restaurant and pool with a view of the beach, my waitress,Mei, made my experience even more exceptional. She is a true professional, and really loves her job. With her service I felt special and very welcomed. I will definitely stay at the Indigo Hotel on my next trip to Bali
"My leather belt was lost in the room while I was staying at the Mercure Hotel Kuta Bali. I reported it to the hotel manager, but he denied that any of his staff took it. I stayed at the hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. I placed my leather belt in a brown paper bag on the second day. When I returned to the room at night, the room had been cleaned by the hotel staff, and I noticed that the brown paper bag containing my leather belt was missing. My leather belt is worth RM150.00."
Room was amazing, management upgraded my room after my bad experience in bad accommodation while in Bali. Grandmas Hotel charged me the same amount as this place and was noisy. As for Rot Tulip changed my mind about traveling to Bali. I had great experience. Ste staff were always available. I enjoyed the traditional barbecue on my first night. The pool was awesome and clean. I enjoyed the complementary water. I enjoyed their amazing breakfast buffets. I liked their massage centre.
Hotel is really just a 15min drive from the airport, so it's a great location for the last night before a flight. Rooms are nice, staff was probably the most friendly we experienced during our stay in Bali (which means something, because people were nice everywhere), pool is good and its just a few metres to the beach where you can swim and enjoy the fish restaurants. Breakfast was freshly made and tasty. We booked last minute and it was really good value for money.
Cozy hotel, charming garden and retaurant. Room was nice, good air con, offered water in a glas recipient in the room, which is great and avoid the use of so many plastic water bottles. Staff super friendly and professional. The hotel offeres free bike. Hotel near the main street in Sanur with many beautiful shops. Sanur is a very lovely and relaxed neighbourhood, less crowded then other spots in Bali we went to. Not near to surf in the dry season, however.
EVERYTHING was so amazing. Hotel is in the center ubud but once you enter the hotel, it feels like youre in a big forest. Everything was amazing, all staff were so smiley and nice!! The pool kitchen is super delicious and cheap, I gained weight.. Special thanks to Subagia for his help at everything and for taking care of our room everyday :) If we ever go to Bali again, I will definitely stay at here again and again. Thank you for the amazing vacation!!
Gorgeous clean room . Service was impeccable. Food was some of the best we had in Bali. They had a take away breakfast ready for us when we left the hotel at 2:30 am! for our hike to Mt Batur There was a person up and graciously handed us out breakfast. Hotel is walkable to shops and to the monkey sanctuary. We did not go in but saw monkeys along the roadside which was enough for us as they are aggressive animals! Perfect stay...highly recommend!!
Our stay at Bali Beach Hotel was simply fantastic! Although we were only there for one day, we immediately felt like long-time guests. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms and the entire property were extremely clean and well-maintained. The food was also excellent – a true delight for the palate! We can highly recommend this hotel and are already looking forward to our next visit!
Besakih Beach Hotel is an institution with the same people coming back year after year over a period of 30 years. It's owned by a local Balinese family and after a while I felt like I was a part of a big family - that was the vibe. My sister and I were comfortable, loved the attentiveness of the reception staff, the beach-front location. It was good value and friendly. Our sheets and towels were changed everyday and the room cleaned.
The worst Hotel I ever stayed in life lifetime. I don't see the option to upload a cockroach picture found in the room. Bali is such a high-temperature place, there unfortunately, No Air conditioning in the hallway, elevators, or Breakfast Area. Waited for a long time to get the elevator as they just had one and it's an old one. Funny still they have old-fashioned Electric plug points where we can't charge your phone.
Good breakfast. Our last night in Bali so we wanted a peaceful night sleep and a nice pool to enjoy a relaxing morning before heading to the airport. I’m glad we chose Sanur as its very beautiful still and the taxi ride took an hour, I’m sure it would have been as long or longer if we had stayed closer to the airport due to traffic. We had our last massage at the Hotel by Martini, it was the BEST of the whole holiday!
Sanur
We loved staying at the Bali Emerald Apartments. Great price. The rooms are huge. Very comfortable lounge and dining rooms. Loved having a good size fridge and microwave. The television was a good size. The bed was comfortable also. Plenty of cupboard space for clothes etc. Everyday our housekeeper did a fantastic job. All staff were very friendly. We loved the handy location. Close to beach and shops.
Beds were comforable, The staff were awesome. When we got bali belly they helped us out alot. Air con could turn the room into a freezer. Water pressure was good. Daily room tidy. Room service 24hr and the food is good too. Hotel give complementary towels to go to the pool. Scooter rental place jusg down the road also the hotel has a huge parking lot. This place is good. Definitely would stay again.
We’ve stayed in many same category hotels in Bali, and we can easily say that it’s the best so far. Hotel is new, so rooms are bright and clean, towels-linens are new without stains, breakfast in restaurant is tasty, no insects inside of rooms, room service is good and staff are very helpfull. 10 mins walk to the beach where you can surf and the same to the restaurants/bars
Hotel location is really in the heart of Pererenan. Walking distance to good cafes/restaurants. They have limited car park but they help you to park safely. What I love the most is; they helped me to split my period of stay as I have an emergency work outside Bali. Very friendly and kind staff! Will definitely return here whenever I am in Pererenan.
The best bed experience ever!!!! Such a beautiful room. We were shocked, especially coming from other hotels in the area. This one so far was the best. Cant wait to be back there again. Very welcoming staff, super friendly and truly this was the best experience in our 1 month stay in bali. Hotel is in the european standard in terms of the interior.
Sanur
Hotel Jati is an old style Bali hotel with rooms surrounded by gardens, an affordable oasis in an overpriced Sanur. The breakfast is delicious and delivered to your private patio. Staff is very friendly and will hold your bags for you if you want to wander around the local shops after check out time. perfect stay for a ferry boat stopover.
