Honestly the most wonderful family and accommodation. We felt really looked after and safe. Set in a beautiful spice plantation which the owner Gede showed us around. Gede is the happiest person on Earth and made sure we had everything we needed. He sorted out all our excursions and put us in touch with his friend Yeni in Padangbai who sorted out all our ferry transportation and drivers over to Gili Trawagnan. She was actually a life saver as one day all fast boats to the Gilis were cancelled but with her inside info she managed to get us onto a freight ferry so we could continue our holiday. Gede, his wife, sister and cousin were all super kind to us and when my daughter was not well they made her lemongrass tea and kept checking in on her. The rooms are so clean and the food good too. We ate there every evening (3 nights) and enjoyed bintang with a view! Exceptional hosts 🥰

This is the most fantastic and amazing place we ever stayed! It is a small property with 5 bungalows, each with a lot of privacy. The room is spacious with comfortable bed and large bathroom. You even have the chance to watch Netflix. But most important, this comes with the BEST view ever looking at the rice fields. You can walk in the rice fields and watch the local people taking care of the fields. The swimming pool is also great and the staff are so helpful (they brought us to the waterfalls on the scooter and showed us a local coffee house). Good choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner, and again with the best view ever! We recommend this place to everyone !!!!

My stay at Giriwood Hotel & Villa was magical! The hotel rooms were luxurious villas, harmoniously blending into the surrounding nature. I don't think I have enough words or time in the world to rate a place so well organized than The Lovina! Check in amazing..they remembered us from a visit three years ago and were so welcoming. They welcomed us like family and that is what I call HOSPITALITY! The room was beautiful and had our own little pool. The interior was well laid out and the staff who cleaned it everyday just did little things to make it special everyday. The pool and beach bar was lovely though I would l0ve a couple more beer choices to be honest! The dining on the beach was amazing and the service was awesome . The servers made sure to know our names and welcomed us for breakfast and dinner like they had known us for years. Shout to I think her name was Nevan or something close to that...would hire her in NYC as she knows what service is. Food tasted great with plenty of choices.To be honest it was sad to say goodbye to this gem in Lovina but I will be definitely be back. Hope they keep the fair pricing because this place is only going to get busier!!!!

He went above and beyond — always kind, knowledgeable, and eager to share everything about Balinese culture with us. The Menjangan is an amazing place to stay. Immersed in the national park - you get to the best of the jungle and beach. The staff are absolutely phenomenal and very kind. Their facilities are spotless. The wildlife is everywhere, and you take a bus between the beach and the main lobby which provides an amazing chance to see wildlife too. The monkeys are very clever so make sure to listen to the staff when they tell you to lock your doors! The resort is also near town, which is a great place to go and get local food. Highly recommend staying here.

The garden is great. The pool is nice with a pool bar. Our room was spacious and clean (the bathroom is outside so it's obviously not as clean as inside but it was good enough for us). The staff is really friendly. There are a restaurant and spa onsite that are nice too. It's a very nice place to relax.

Love Lovina, chilled and lots to see around area....

Love Lovina, chilled and lots to see around area....waterfalls spectacular. As much as I would like to promote Dolphin swimming for local employment, once I was out there I realised it was wrong decision. I'm a marine lover and I don't think the dolphins were too happy chasing them. I decided to get back in the boat and go back.

Our stay at Manduk modern plantation was amazing. The most welcoming and friendliest staff I’ve ever had. Making you feel right at home! The property is so beautiful and the views from the restaurants and the room was incredible :) Great sized rooms and very private. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a break from the coast :)

The area he’s like Bali 40 years ago. You are better off staying at a resort on the northern end of the beach, they are beautiful clean and with excellent food and staff, and away from the mosque. Eco Taste, Dimpil Beach Bar, Wrung Rama, The Sage excellent places to eat with cheap healthy fresh food. The Taman, Sari resort & Amertha Resort also have excellent food but more expensive.

Nice relaxed rural/coastal Bali, great place to just wind it back and take time to slow down. Snorkeling, temple tours both great, hot springs are truely hot and well worth the visit (anytime of day or night), but I’ll mostly remember the friendly approachable people in the neighbourhood. Lovely people (great food)

Located outside of Singaraja by about 10kms is "OMunity Bali". It is situated in the traditional highland village of Sudaji.. To get to this location you need to make your own transport arrangements to go there and especially leaving is harder as the local Grab App doesn't seem to reach to here. OMunity prepared food is delicious and creative but eating out elsewhere didn't have much choice esp if vegetarian. The ambience is relaxing, friendly and uncrowded. Walking around the neighborhood is pleasant, and there are short road trips with walks or treks to some of the most stunning scenic places in Bali.

Tejakula is a great place away from the busy tourist areas of the south beaches. There are great Warungs, bars and markets for shopping. We saw waterfalls, temples, hot springs and a family run salt farm. Quiet walks along the black sand beach and making friends with the locals are some of the reasons why we will come back to Tejakula.

It is great to stay in the north of Bali!

It is great to stay in the north of Bali! Getting around takes time and requires a private driver. Management & Staff was just Wonderful and made all our wishes come true. Very responsive via What's app - all day long. Great location on the mountain, fantastic view. Private infinity pool! The place to feel into the magic of Bali!

I first visited Lovina in 1979.

I first visited Lovina in 1979. Since then I have been back 4 or 5 times. Lovina still retains a lot of the old Bali. If you are looking for a quite peaceful town with great people this is it. I always enjoy the serenity of Lovina and the closeness of nature. Well worth a visit.

Temperature (around 18-19 degrees celcius in the evening) and beautiful countryside and vegetation - many waterfall walks available (although quite tourist heavy). Beautiful area and totally different to the various beach spots of Bali.

It was quiet and peaceful, away from the busy southern parts...

It was quiet and peaceful, away from the busy southern parts of Bali. The downside is it takes 4 hours due to traffic leaving the south and slow moving traffic heading up into the mountains due to winding, narrow roads.
