Anne explained us everything about Matera with great recommendations! She showed us to our beautiful room in an old matera house. The hotel has an amazing aesthetic that resonates well with the city. The breakfast is also very much appreciated with nice music.

Authentic (yet comfortable) rooms built in old caves (sassi). Delicate and high-level period interior design. Ancient Greek breakfast. Most wonderful of all for our tired and a bit frost-bitten travel group – a beautiful cave-spa to relax in. In additon we enjoyed the insightful conversations with the staff - young and enthusiastic archeologists. The promotional materials promised different ceremonies and historical costumes. First we were a bit worried as these things tend to be rather cheesy, done for commercial purposes. No need to be scared! Everything is very sendible, genuine and in good taste. The visitors can participate without pressure and be truly carried away to the distant past. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel near the coast. It was perfect for our one night stopover on our way to Calabria. We were upgraded to a suite which was huge with a bedroom and separate living area. This would be perfect for a family break. As we were late arriving (we had just gotten off a flight) it was great to be able to book a table in the hotel restaurant for dinner. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. The hotel is a little dated but room and communal areas were clean and the staff were very pleasant.

Bungalows are nice and spacious, proper size and room organization for families with kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Animation team is very enthusiastic and energetic. On site, there is a restaurant, a bar, a mini market, small shop with toys and equipment for the pool and the beach. Beach is sandy, well organized and each room has its own sun-beds. In general, a very very nice stay. Proximity to Matera (1h) and Alberobello (1h30) is an advantage.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and very well kept. We especially enjoyed the meals, which offered plenty of fresh and high-quality options. This is a vacation spot particularly suited to those who look for a quiet and restful familiar environment. The staff is very nice and trully healpful to every request.

A simple but nice wigwam house decreasing considerably the sounds of crickets and entertaining events, swimming pool on the territory, helpful staff, children animation programs, good cafeteria on the territory with a smiling and friendly woman serving meals.

We are both gluten free and the staff were amazing, they went out of their way to help with this. They offered us lots of options and even produced gluten free options specifically for us.

You need at least 2 nights to enjoy wandering around and enjoying the restaurants and bars that are tucked away in the rocks and caves. There are still some great artisans and shops to explore as well. Would love to go back and spend more time.

Friendly people, we went in September for two nights on our road trip at the end of the season so was relaxing. The old town is nice to walk around, restaurants are also good we enjoyed two really good dinners. We walked down to the port and back which is good for seasoned walkers/hikers but not for everyone as it's about 80 flights back up.

The town nestles in the hills and I'm sure there was a lot to see in and around the place but we were tired and relaxed by the large pool.

The town can be quiet out of season but the people and views...
The town can be quiet out of season but the people and views are lovely and fantastic. If you’re a nature lover and a hiker, don’t miss out on this spectacular village. There are a few activities to do and I’d highly recommend going down to the river plus up near the ‘Slittovia’ to see the views on the other side of the Dolomites.

We found Metaponto a peculiar town, but do not regret having visit it. The reason for our visit was that said town is the town in which Pythagoras died. Presumably everyone's travels are individually motivated. In our case the hotel we picked suited best our visit to Metaponto. We definitely recommend the hotel, and the visit to Metaponto, we leave everyone to decide for oneself.

Marinagri offers very unique vibe.
Marinagri offers very unique vibe. It is peaceful and very tranquil, you will feel welcome and safe.
Policoro is a small city. However it is very cute and people are kind, the weather is great in September. The reason I decided to travel to Marinaagri is sailing in the Ionian Sea. My sailing experience was sensational and I am happy I discovered new destination for my new sailing journeys.
The food is amazing I did visited Nemo restaurant, this is very unique place with amazing food choices an first you may think it is a fast food place but I’d you go to Policoro you must try it it is amazing.
Seafood is fresh and local and very tasty.

Fascinating historic town with a long a chequered history.
Fascinating historic town with a long a chequered history. We felt that 2-3 days was the ideal time to cover all the culture, churches, sassi houses, as well as a trip across the gorge to the original Neanderthal settlements.
The little lanes that weave their way around the two sides of the hill reminded me a bit of Santorini - lot of nooks and crannies, and plenty of delightful surprises around every corner (tiny bars, restaurants, churches etc). Be prepared to walk up and down many steps! But well worth it - especially in the evening when the hillside lights up under the sunset and all the little homes put on their lanterns. Magical place!

Maratea is a beautiful region and it must get quite crowded in summer. We were trying to miss the crowds and we did. In fact, it was very quiet in the last week of October with almost no tourists and just the small population of residents.

It is a good size town to stay a few days and explore.
It is a good size town to stay a few days and explore. There is a great festival at the end of May. It’s a good base if you want to explore Basilicata as its quite central. People friendly as we found in all of Basilicata and Puglia. It’s very reasonably priced to eat out. Food is amazing in the region. Probably best in Italy. Great wines around Venosa, Barille, Ripacandida and Rioter region of Basilicata and it’s only about 40 mins away for Potenza. I will come back again.

It was a little hard to find even with GPS.
It was a little hard to find even with GPS. The town was breath taking like you were transformed to a mystical place. Wish we had more time to stay and hike and check everything out. And the mirutt b&b was wonderful.
