We stayed here for our honeymoon and had an unforgettable experience. Because of our bus schedule, we arrived before the check-in time, but one of the staff members kindly let us in as soon as they arrived for work and even made us coffee. It was such a warm welcome. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. They gave us great advice about sightseeing and directions around the city. Even before we arrived, they contacted a restaurant we wanted to visit and also helped us reserve another restaurant they recommended. When our return bus was canceled due to a strike, we had already booked a train on a different route. The staff kindly explained that taking a taxi to that station would be expensive and suggested a better option. They even checked the prices and schedules for taxis and buses for us. Their kindness was so touching that it almost brought me to tears. Everyone at the hotel was full of hospitality and made our stay truly special. The room was very clean, and staying in a cave hotel was something we had always dreamed of, so it made us very happy. The view of Matera from the hotel terrace was absolutely breathtaking, and we went there many times just to enjoy the scenery.

The best stay of our trip! Such a special place in the heart of the beautiful Matera. We were warmly welcomed after our taxi ride booked by the hotel. Anne explained us everything about Matera with great recommendations! She showed us to our beautiful room in an old matera house. The hotel has an amazing aesthetic that resonates well with the city. The breakfast is also very much appreciated with nice music.

Bungalows are nice and spacious, proper size and room organization for families with kids. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Animation team is very enthusiastic and energetic. On site, there is a restaurant, a bar, a mini market, small shop with toys and equipment for the pool and the beach. Beach is sandy, well organized and each room has its own sun-beds. In general, a very very nice stay. Proximity to Matera (1h) and Alberobello (1h30) is an advantage.

Matera is beautiful, but for someone with mobility problems could be difficult to explore.Ofcourse there are the "tuk-tuk" vehicles to take people to certain points.Another thing is to start early your wandering in the sassis cause it can be crowded as the time passes. For young athletic people an activity couldn't be missed would be to cross the "gravina" by the path and go up to the cliffs with the caves to see Matera from the opposite site

I liked the old city center area, all the restaurants and shops just a short walk on mostly level ground. It seemed very safe! I would have liked to see the museum but it was a little too far and down a steep hill for a troublesome knee. A little knowledge of Italian and a translation app was helpful. The people would work with you and overall we’re very kind.

The town can be quiet out of season but the people and views are lovely and fantastic. If you’re a nature lover and a hiker, don’t miss out on this spectacular village. There are a few activities to do and I’d highly recommend going down to the river plus up near the ‘Slittovia’ to see the views on the other side of the Dolomites.

Marinagri offers very unique vibe.

Marinagri offers very unique vibe. It is peaceful and very tranquil, you will feel welcome and safe. Policoro is a small city. However it is very cute and people are kind, the weather is great in September. The reason I decided to travel to Marinaagri is sailing in the Ionian Sea. My sailing experience was sensational and I am happy I discovered new destination for my new sailing journeys. The food is amazing I did visited Nemo restaurant, this is very unique place with amazing food choices an first you may think it is a fast food place but I’d you go to Policoro you must try it it is amazing. Seafood is fresh and local and very tasty.

We spent 36 hours in Pietrapertossa and certainly could’ve stayed another day. We explored much of this charming village, but certainly didn’t see all there was to see. We walked to Castelmezzano and had a wonderful lunch there, but could’ve spent more time there as well. The Lucan Dolomites really are a gem there in the middle of southern Italy. I’m so glad we went.

We had the most amazing meal at La Torre restaurant, Giuseppe is an amazing chef. His wife is an amazing host. Our food was of a very high standard and very well presented. An interesting city for a short visit.

An interesting city for a short visit. A nice Archeological museum (general tours are in Italian exclusively). The city is rich in its theatre but unfortunately, we came out of a season. The historic city centre is situated on the top of a high natural hill; verticals in the city are striking. Therefore, free public elevators are quite ordinary means of transportation.
