On entrance the reception the staff were very welcoming. The hotel and facilities are great. The breakfast and evening menu the food is to a exceptional standard. The room and bedding cleanliness are exceptional. Would recommend to anyone to stay

Excellent, convenient location to walk around in Lucca. Excellent, friendly, accommodating staff, made us feel welcome. Breakfast was not included. We paid for breakfast on our first (out of the two) days we stayed there. It was very good, but could be improved in terms of choice.

A hotel with a large pool and a smaller one for kids (pools are open to the public), spacious rooms, and a great breakfast. The whole place feels like a step back in time – in a charming way. Perfectly located for day trips to Lucca, Florence, Pescia, Pisa... Highly recommended!

The reception staff were exceptional, the rooms spotlessly clean and the hotel was so beautiful. Breakfast was wonderful with lots to choose from. Location was perfect.

Arrived late after a long drive and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with and a real credit to the hotel.

Lovely timeless finishes to room, comfortable and quiet. The reception from the lady on the front desk was so helpful, warm and friendly.

Where to start? The location is premium, right in the center of Lucca. Staff is beyond friendly and wonderful. And then the ambiance: walls are handpinted murals (added some pics, mind you I was in a simple room. Can't fathom a suite)

The view from this property is absolutely magnificent. The vibe of the place is peaceful, magical and serene: imagine sitting in one of the many intimate places provided in the olives orchard, enjoying the sun and pleasant breeze looking at the fantastic view, just above the infinity pool and the old and beautifully restored monastery building enjoying one glass of cooled wine made by Villa Volpi and one of the books from their beautiful library. We had the perfect holiday here. We will return for sure. Very good, typical Italian dinner (apetizers, meat, pasta and ice cream) and breakfast (eggs, prosciutto, mozzarella caprese, home made sweets, cereal, fruit)

Fabulous staff. Friendly, helpful and genuinely caring! The hotel bicycles are also a great way to see the city.

Lovely room, great breakfast, exceptionally friendly owners and staff, perfect location right outside the train station exit and a few hundred meters from the Old Town entrance. Our two year old absolutely loved the little play area on the stair landing as well as the toys at breakfast. Great place for small children. Highly recommended!

The stay has been so wonderful. We arrived only a few days after the opening of the hotel. As soon as we entered the hotel I could tell that it was an old, but newly renovated building. You are met with gorgeous marble floor and a small and welcoming reception. The hotel is located right next to Puccini’s apartment, now a museum. And close to that again is the beautiful Piazza San Michele. Around the area are authentic and charming restaurants and cafés, it truely feels like you are in the heart of lucca old town. We were met with a super friendly staff member, Ranieri, who helped us to our room. The room was beautiful, it had that old authentic charm with tall walls, a large window with wooden shutters. The colours were modern, but felt Italian and cozy. We had everything we needed in the room, and more (since neither my husband or I watch TV, but there were a lot of movies to choose from if we wanted to). The room was so clean, and everyday the cleaning staff did a wonderful job at tidying and making it comfortable for us. All the staff were so friendly. And we couldn’t have wished for anything more, it was perfect.

Very clean, modern room. The breakfast was great and staff helpful and friendly. It was about a ten minute walk to inside the walls, and about fifteen minutes down the road to the train station.

I had a very enjoyable stay at this historic hotel in Tuscany and was delighted to be among the first guests following its reopening. The hotel's greatest strength is undoubtedly its location. It is perfectly positioned for exploring Tuscany, with easy access to Lucca, Pisa, Siena and Florence, while also providing a peaceful base from which to discover the many hidden gems of the surrounding countryside. What stood out most to me was the character and history of the property. The spacious rooms, charming atmosphere and beautiful setting create a unique experience that is increasingly rare to find. While the hotel is still in the early stages of its new chapter, it is clear that there is tremendous potential for the future. The hospitality I received throughout my stay was warm and genuine. The staff were consistently helpful, attentive and welcoming, and their kindness contributed greatly to the overall enjoyment of my visit. I believe this property has all the foundations to become a truly special destination with continued care and investment. It was a pleasure to witness the beginning of that journey, and I look forward to returning in the future to see how it continues to develop and flourish.
