I stayed back in July, but I waited to see the responses from booking.com before I decided to review. I recommend people, please screenshot your booking . Booking.com made false advertising for all vacation homes/hotels that agreed to pay them more commissions. I booked this hotel room which stated that I had 2twin beds and a queen bed with sea view. I screenshotted after checked in the room and showed it to Paola since my room didn’t have sea view. I had bunk bed (which I wouldn’t mind). Paola showed me her contract with booking.com, which showed a regular room. Even though it wasn’t her fault, she still treated us a dinner ($25/pp at the time I stayed). Dinner was good. Lot of food for us. I reported to booking.com when I got home about the whole situation (I also mentioned the beach was like double of 450ft from the hotel). After back and forth with email, they didn’t commit that they advertised wrong. They said “after carefully looking at” my booking, the room didn’t have the sea view , the terrace had sea view after they made changes on their website 🤣. I was like…wow…so that’s how they do business. Too bad I deleted my screenshots about my booking already after showed it to Paola. The whole hotel pictures and accommodations were very good. All staffs were super nice. Breakfast had plenty of sweets. Even my room didn’t look like any in the current pictures (I assumed they just got updated), but it was clean and very cool with the AC. The room didn’t look not have sea view, but it still was nice to sit out in the terrace, just to look at the greenery. It was peaceful and green. There is a beach close to the hotel ( about 1000ft, which it was said 450 ft on here, with quite steps down, so little tired when go up) . But I liked to walk (10-15 mins) to the one litter further out. It was bigger, easier to get to. But I had to pay $50 for the umbrella 🥶. Overall, I appreciated what Paola, her husband, and their team treated us. Warm, sweet, and polite.

Every aspect of this hotel was sublime. I expected to have a wonderful stay but the staff and quality of the space exceeded my expectations. I was remote working and was able to access internet all throughout the property which meant I could even work on my front porch without fail. The hotel managers were warm and inviting and truly made you feal at ease. They were friendly and helpful and made it seem like you were staying with friends. The amenities were unreal, endless outdoor porches and lounging space, beautiful flora, and a warm spa like pool to relax after a long day. The hotel is a short distance from a local beach and was nice to stay on a quiet street. There is a bar/restaurant on the bottom floor that you can ask to attend everyday. The food was fantastic and the value was unbelievable. I extended my stay an extra day, I only wish I could have stayed longer. Truly felt like I was at home from the moment I stepped onto the property.

Visiting Ischai with a car was challenging.

Visiting Ischai with a car was challenging. We pre booked the Ferry but still needed to exchange our reservation for a ticket. We struggled to locate the ticket office at the port and we couldn't get a ticket for both crossings and was only issued a ticket for the single journey so we needed to locate the ticket office both in our outbound and inbound journey which was a pain. Reversing the car onto the car ferry was also challenging. The Island is a little grubby, the architecture is in poor repair and the roads are challenging. Some of the people were friendly but in general we found the people a little rude and ignorant. Driving was also quite challenging with other drivers being very aggressive. The beaches were a little hit and miss. The beaches in the towns were busy and crowded with locals, if you moved out beyond towns you can find less crowded beaches but with basic facilities. The Island is very hilly and it was too difficult to walk anywhere we needed a car but you can hire scooters very easily on the Island. The food options were very good with Excellent Pizza - We recommend Bar Franco in Lacco Amenco it was one of the highlights our our trip - we went back twice in 4 days.

Depending on the time of year Procida is a little haven with unique, picture book views … very unspoilt and not overdeveloped!!! However, there are a lot of steps to climb up from the little port and to some of the beaches so go prepared!! All in all, having eaten out at most of the restaurants, we had delicious, fresh fish and no disappointing meals … staff were very friendly and the service was good. Finally, the best time to go here would be early or late summer … far more restful and relaxing 😎

    No parking.

No parking. Many steps to get to the piazza and port and not pedestrian safe. Not geared to tourists. Shops for local consumption mostly. Ok for a day or two but traffic in and out is terrible and not a good base for exploring the area. I found the restaurants good but expensive.

Almost only Italians are in Bacoli, very few international tourists, which makes it a special experience. You can just relax and enjoy the sea at several beaches, many of which are free, like Spiaggia del Poggio and Lido Schiacchetiello. There's quite a large supermarket on Via Roma with lots of nice local cheese, meat and fruits & veggies. Everything within Bacoli is walking distance. We used public transport to get there and around, EAV buses run mostly on schedule to reach for instance, Pozzuoli. Pozzuoli may be a better choice to stay if you want to discover the Roman ruins and the islands. There are some things to see and do in Bacoli as well, like visiting the Castle with amazing Roman sculptures and the Piscina Mirabilis is also interesting to see.

I used to live here for 2 years. I like how it is more peaceful than Naples. The restaurants have very good food, especially the pizza a la lenio. I love the markets you have called mercantinos. I love the beaches as well. I don’t like the massive amount of traffic around 10am on Sundays. That’s only in the summer though. All in all I love lago patria.

We loved the owners of the hotel that we stayed at but as for the town it was a dump with all due respect! It was way out of Naples and access to the beach is impossible without a car, not much affordable transport options in Italy. I would not return to Varcaturo and probably not Italy for that matter. This experience has put us off! The owners of our hotel are the only reason we would consider returning to Italy due to there warm hospitality but sadly wouldn’t stay there again solely due to the location.

Amazing island! Each town has its own vibe. Beaches are so nice, water is beautiful and the people are wonderful. So many restaurants, stores and activities to do. Some of what we enjoyed was La Mortella Gardens, Negombo Thermal Spa, Argoneae Castle (being bathing suits and swim right in front of the castle; make sure to read the sign about the secret that this swimming area offers- so cool). Book a boat day with West Coast Ischia - best day of our trip. Wish we stayed longer! Book

It's a beautiful island. Quiet. Small. Lovely views, restaurants and people. You DO need to be able to walk and climb lots of steps. There are eBikes for hire, scooters and cars, but the streets are tiny and best walked. A great place to unwind. You can also hire boats or book boat trips. Great for sailing.
