Relaxed and chilled atmosphere, pleasant design and rooms, beautiful onsen very obliging staff and a sensational Japanese breakfast. The room was perfect in terms of facilities and size, the bed was large and very comfortable. I also enjoyed the beautiful onsen. If that wasn't enough, I will definitely come back for the incredible Japanese breakfast alone. (If you like Japanese breakfast, be sure to book the night before).

everything was really good, the rooms are spacious and very clean, there's everything you need. the beds are really nice and you don't hear the traffic from outside. you get a breakfast buffet which from my point of view was really good and you have a big selection of food. you get free coffee/tee/matcha all day over the machine in the entrance area. Onichi market is 2 minutes away and you get to all other sights you should visit in Kanazawa within walking distance. couldn't ask for more.

Like any other excellent ryokans, Yamanaka Onsen Kissho Yamanaka is not close to Kaga station. But the lovely thing is that it provides shuttle bus services. So it was very convenient for me to visit various places around the area. The ryokan has a very spacious lounge where free drinks were offered, I had spent some time there during my stay, a very good place to read and write. The staff were great, everyone, warm and caring, that was the kind of courtesy and hospitality I expected. My room was perfect, clean, spacious and had an open view of the valley and the mountain. The hot baths, both the indoor and the outdoor ones, were excellent. I had been using the hot baths for several times and surprisingly met only few people. So I was really had the time to completely relaxing my mind and body. Finally, I was highly satisfied with the meals. The breakfast, Japanese set, was in good size and delicious. The dinners were excellent, far from my expectation and worth the value. The seafood was fresh with a good variety, from salmon, yellow tail, eel to some which I did not know their names. I fully recommended to try the teppanyaki because both the chef and the ingredients were excellent. Beef, seafood and the rice were delicious. Definitely Kissho Yamanaka would definitely be my first choice when I visit Kaga again.

We had a suite with the private onsen which was fantastic. So peaceful, relaxing and romantic. It was expensive at nearly 70,000 yen (approx $700 AUD) per night and we stayed two nights, but the experience was totally worth it. If you can, definitely get this room. The little town of Yamanakaonsen is only about a 15 minute walk and has a convenience store and other gift shops. We found a lovely spot down by the river. The staff were all excellent, as I have found in all Japanese hotels, but I want to make a special mention about a young Indonesian lady (Sushi) who waited on our table. She explained the extensive menu in Japanese to my Japanese wife and again in English to me. Her bubbly personality was a delight. The food was outstanding, top quality and plentiful. Overall one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The onsen in your room overlooking the river and forest was just perfect.

The staff spoke good english and were extemely helpful. The food included in the half board price served in private dining areas was amazingly well presented traditional Japanese food. That looked and tasted out of this world. Some of the best food we had on our trip to Japan and we stayed in several expensive Ryokan. Lovely private or public outdoor onsen or in a subterranean cave. The Noto peninsular is still recovering from the earthquake of Jan 2024 and the terrible flooding in Sept 2024 but a trip there is well worthwhile to see the scenery and see how well the repairs are progressing

Nice japanese style room. Room was spacios, well prepared and aquiped. Great and interesting experience. Hotel provides public baths as well as provate bath for 3300 💴. We took a nice private bath. Recomend. As well you can order a massage or use a massage machine. Foot bath are as well very nice. Breakfast was japanese style, quite a good choice. At 21:00 there was a drums performance. There are a free hotel shuttle to take you from station. All in all great experiance.

Kanazawa is a delightful city and my wife and I both regret not being able to stay longer. We will definitely be back. I loved the castle gardens in the snow and wandering through the old samurai district. The place had a magic about it.

Nanta-dera is only a 15 minute drive away which was beautiful with the autumn leaves. The walk along the river in Yamanaka is stunning all year round. Yamanake is famous for wood turning so there is plenty of crafts to see. Nearby and also huge ancient cedar trees and it is an area of plentiful hot springs.

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised. The host was helpful and a delight. She made sure we had a lovely 2 nights there. Rooms were well presented and large with amenities that were first rate. The glass manufacture workshop and the glass museum were well woth the trip. The glass gallery is world class and the architecture special and suited to its location. The aquarium was disappointing. Show was good but the maintenance of the facility needs work.

One of the best city in whole Japan!. Food is amazing. This was my second time in Kanazawa. First time when i was single and second one was with family. Family too liked the place. Hope to visit one more time :) I am in love with this city!

The onsen was totally Japanese in style and attention to detail, very relaxing and with a staff dedicated to providing the best service. They were attentive and helpful. The forest near the onsen was beautiful for hiking and contemplating nature. Loved it. I will definitely return and to the same onsen.

Kanazawa is a gem. Uncrowded and unhurried, it’s the place to stroll stunning gardens and explore geisha, samurai and ninja districts. The city has made it easy for tourists with the loop buses and low ticket fees. I am glad I came and spent 4 nights.
