Soki Kanazawa is located close by the market and 15 min walking distance from the Kanazawa castle and Kanazawa station. There are a lot of good restaurants close. The decoration of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are super comfortable. The Japanese onsen is a plus and the staff is super friendly. Love everything.

The vibe is very cozy. Exterior and interior are very relaxing. Room layout and sizing fits best with a solo traveler. Warm welcome Dungo and hot tea makes the visit even more relaxing. The rooms are simple and clean. The hotel is very well located close to many of the important sites and areas of Kanazawa. The staff very helpful and friendly. There is free coffee and tea for guests in the lobby. The washing machine in the room was a BIG plus (if I had known before coming I would have packed much lighter). Very central area close to Omichi market. The best market. Quite a few restaurants around and easy to get around. We visited the Samurai house and the Kenroku-en garden. We bought a one day pass to get around. The city was very quiet and not as stressful as Tokyo. We were recommended a nice sushi restaurant by one person in the reception. The restaurant, Cho-hachi, was on the way to the station from the hotel.

 The great Kindness of the reception  staff member.  they helped me out to find a solution to book a car and another hotel after my stay. they really insisted to help me out and I greatly appreciated. Great Thanks to them !  They refused any tips for this help. As well, the hotel bar has a very nice atmosphere with its vinyle LP music during the evening, perfect with an  excellent, Japanese whiskey… I highly recommend this place and by the way, they are very well located as well ! Thanks !

The staff spoke good english and were extemely helpful. The food included in the half board price served in private dining areas was amazingly well presented traditional Japanese food. That looked and tasted out of this world. Some of the best food we had on our trip to Japan and we stayed in several expensive Ryokan. Lovely private or public outdoor onsen or in a subterranean cave. The Noto peninsular is still recovering from the earthquake of Jan 2024 and the terrible flooding in Sept 2024 but a trip there is well worthwhile to see the scenery and see how well the repairs are progressing

This was my second time staying here because of its excellent onsen and excellent Japanese cuisine. To us, it was very convenient because the reserved shuttle bus took us directly from Tomatsu airport to the ryokan. Our room with river view was big, clean and tidy. We stayed here for 3 nights and it provided us 3 different excellent dinner menu. We appreciated all the staff who served us with hospitality.

My room is extremely big and new renovated. The food is very fresh , delicous and with huge proportion. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Onsen is super . Loved the historical areas which were so easy to get to via...

Loved the historical areas which were so easy to get to via the loop buses as well as local buses or on foot. The castle and gardens and surrounding area could be a day in themselves. The samurai district was fabulous and so easy to navigate. The Chaya district was my favourite. There were so many surprises around every corner and very walkable. I also took a trip out to Kurobe Gorge - bullet train to Kurobe Unazukionsen then local train to Unazuki then mining train to Nekomata - stunning views.

The main attraction at Kaga are the Onsen towns.

The main attraction at Kaga are the Onsen towns. Best to visit with a car. The towns are charming with lots of coffee and cake cafes and lacquerware shops. Not many places to get proper meals. Forest walk along the river is very pretty. This place is very quiet with very few people around.

Komatsu is a nice place. Great view of the mountains. Kind of a sleepy town. Other than the 'snack - men's bar' places near the station the town really does go to sleep early. Did not really eat anywhere interesting, super markets and conbini. Was there once for the child kabuki frestival. That cannot be beat!

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised.

The seaside accomodation was just as advertised. The host was helpful and a delight. She made sure we had a lovely 2 nights there. Rooms were well presented and large with amenities that were first rate. The glass manufacture workshop and the glass museum were well woth the trip. The glass gallery is world class and the architecture special and suited to its location. The aquarium was disappointing. Show was good but the maintenance of the facility needs work.

If you love the seafood, you should come to Kanazawa and...

If you love the seafood, you should come to Kanazawa and visiting the Omicho Market to have their speciality - Kaisendon (The rice bowls are generously topped with ultra-fresh seafoods) . And must try the gold leaf ice cream of Kanazawa. If you love historic Japanese culture, you need to visit the castle park ,the old town and the samurai district. Lovely small spa town.

Lovely small spa town. Delightful to walk on the path near the gorge - moss everywhere. The town has shops of wood products and lacquerware - a refreshing change from cookies and trinkets. Monday is when many restaurants are closed - so plan ahead if you are there that day.

The hotel was fantastic, evening and more than my team expected! We loved the traditional clothing and meals, especially dinner. The breakfast for most Americans is a little rough. The hot springs were EPIC and the swimming was just right. Thank you

A lively city with plenty of interesting historical sights and cultural activities. Excellent food and good coffee shops. It's easy to walk to and around the major sights. Bus system easy to use and the two loop buses are very convenient.

This stay was absolutely lovely!

This stay was absolutely lovely! We were looking for a more traditional Japanese home in a smaller town - and this was it! I believe the owner said it was 130 years old but they've made great, modern renovations in the kitchen, bathrooms, and more. The beds were so comfortable (and heated). As for the owners, we've never stayed at a home with more hospitable and helpful hosts. We were interested in the history of everything in the the area. They gave us a tour of the home itself, took us on a walk to the beautiful stream across the street and the shrine a block up the road. Everything was picturesque. He even taught my son how to cook a Japanese treat from the garden. My children also thoroughly enjoyed playing with their children and the many Montessori-style toys in the home. It is also about a 10-15 minute drive to various stores. Very convenient. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and if we're ever back in the area, we would love to stay again!
