- From $187.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 684 reviewsSo close to the station, very convenient. My room looked exactly like in the picture w/ a beautiful sea view of Amanohashidate & the bay. I stayed there in July, during summer, and the AC was super cold, which I really appreciated. In the bathroom they have make up cleanser, toner, lotion by Pola very convenient. They also provide some product for men, shaving cream, aftershave & lotion. I also enjoyed the foot onsen at the back of the hotel, really relaxing. The garden at the back also offers a gorgeous sea view, perfect for unwinding. There’s a nice restaurant just a one-minute walk away, located on the second floor above a shop that sells food, sweets & knickknacks. It’s also easy to access the temple, ferry tour station and some charming little shops nearby. Don’t forget to stop by a lovely cafe right by the water, it's overlooking the rotating red bridge, they serve lovely desserts.Guest review byNindiyaIndonesia
- From $102.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,818 reviewsANTEROOM Kyoto doesn't bury the lede: it's a former high school turned into a true art gallery with a boutique hotel. It's beautiful both inside and out: art installations greet you when you arrive, as well as a stylish bar, a make your own bath salts station, arcades and claw games. And that's even before getting to the rooms: they're HUGE for Japan standards. Even though I wanted a room with a queen bed, I got a spacious one with double twin beds but it wasn't that much or a problem. Common japanese amenities are provided, and the hotel is located in a comfy and quiet neighborhood. I would stay here time and time again. Staff were so kind when we had a couple of issues, and spoke fluent English. I even bought a couple of souvenirs from the art store!Guest review byCarlosMexico
- From $137.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 1,002 reviewsThe hotel is about 5 minutes away from the station so getting there was a breeze. Check-in and check-out were painlessly simple. The staff were so extremely friendly, even though I spoke almost 0 Japanese. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked and satisfying. I've read complaints about the room size and honestly as a solo traveller of 180cm, it was not an issue. The room was super comfortable and the washroom was adequate. Honestly the perfect place if you're planning to stay in and explore Kobe.Guest review byNicholas MohammedTrinidad and Tobago

If you want to experience a little bit of traditional Japan, Osaka would be a go-to place. You can just take a train and go to Kyoto for a day or two. What's not to like about Osaka. There's Dotonbori, Universal studios, Legoland, sights and sounds like Umeda sky for the views.. not to mention the castles aaaand.. Donki's everywhere. Don't take my word for it. Go and experience for yourself!Guest review byLee - 10.0

We loved walking the Philosophers Path and having lunch in that area. We went to the 400 year old Ozu Washi paper shop which was great. The bamboo walk was interesting and the Golden Pavion was beautiful. Kenninji Temple with its zen garden was so peaceful.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 10.0

Kobe is a great city to visit. A vibrant, buzzing and cosmopolitan city with memorable features such as the ropeway to the herb garden at the JR Shin Kobe Station at Sannomiya (an absolute must for visitors), the Maya cable car and ropeway and the Akashi bridge to Awaji Island.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
Nara is beautiful.
Nara is beautiful. There are two UNESCO world heritage sites and lots of deer. If you are afraid of animals, I don't recommend it. The deer will follow you if you have food and they may try to take it from you if you hesitate or don't gently push them away. They are not, as a general rule, aggressive. A lot of tourists freak out and just throw their crackers. Don't do that. Stay calm. The deer don't want to hurt you, they just want a snack. They don't care for being pet either. Just snap your crackers (200 yen sold at different stands) into 3-4 pieces, hold out your hand flat and let them take it from you. Be aware of how many are around you. They will surround and nibble your clothing. I found this hilarious. I grew up with cows and they will pretty much do the same thing. Use your voice and be gentle. The one day bus pass is really useful. I wish I had more time in Nara.Guest review bySarahUnited States - 10.0

We only stayed one night when we arrived as we needed a place to recharge and freshen up before we head to Kyoto. The hotel is very nice with complete amenities in the room. The room we occupied has the view of the airport runway but we never heard any noise coming from the airplanes arriving and taking off. A bit expensive but it was worth it. Breakfast buffet was very good too.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Himeji is obviously very famous for its castle, but other than that lacks many things to do. I found my time there to be rather boring, and we often struggled to find activities to fill our nights with. We used Himeji as a central location to take day trips from - since we booked during Golden Week, hotel prices in more ideal areas, such as Kobe, were heavily inflated and unreasonable.Guest review byJacob - 10.0

We are Americans so we had really little knowledge of Shirahama as a resort city. It was at the tail end of a 3 week tour of Japan and was very restful. Fortunately, we were there after Golden Week and before the main tourist season, so it was quiet and relaxing. We had fun over two nights at a local Turkish restaurant, Blue Bar. We'd recommend it. Also, the beach seemed quite nice although we had one day or rain so we didn't hang out there. While this wouldn't be a regular stop for Americans, I think it is worthwhile and an easy train ride to the airport in Osaka.Guest review byAndrew - 10.0

The scenic mountains near the city offers stunning sunset views. The Sakura were in full bloom. There are several parks around the city, and the impressive Wakayama castle. The hotel (Candeo Hotels Nankai) is great value - fantastic river views, rooftop onsen that you can enjoy the sunset. And right at the Wakayama Station. Good dining options around the hotel too.Guest review byKwokSingapore - 10.0
One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns.
One of Japan's six ancient kiln towns. If you are into ceramics it's a brilliant place to visit. If you're not, it's a lovely, relaxed town with nice walks and good places to eat. Very close to Nagoya airport. There is a free shuttle bus into Tokoname or use the station. Home of the lucky waving cat - Maneki Neko!Guest review byCerysUnited Kingdom - 10.0
RELAXING QUIET GIFU!
RELAXING QUIET GIFU! We just wanted to visit other places in Japan. We have been to Japan a few times already. We like going to these kind of relaxing places. We went hiking, we walked everywhere since everything was walkable. We had so much local food and sake of course! ONSEN! Nature everywhere! We also met some of my aunt's family and friends. It felt like a home. We love everything in here. We could have stayed longer but will be back and will see the other sights. Thank you GIFU! :)Guest review byisi paniniPhilippines
