Awesome location! Very near to the shopping street, restaurants, and also the bars & Izakaya. We walked almost everywhere and could drop my shopping bags in the middle of the day to lessen the load. Nice room size and very clean room with tatami. It's a Japanese style of sleeping with a futon and I slept with 2 layers of futon which was pretty comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - Kyoto style kaiseki for all 4 days, very tasty, pretty, and full of nutrition! Definitely come here for the Japanese experience ☺️

Breakfast was fantastic! absolutely delicious and filling; especially liked the fact that it offered a full Japanese course and lots of local Kyoto delicacies. location was great, as well! easy access to trains and very close to the Imperial Palace. the neighborhood around it was full of charming shops and a fair number of restaurants; also very close to a 7/11 which was very nice. Hotel was clean, had a very enticing atmosphere, the baths were well equipped and quite lovely, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Location was great. Far enough away from the city centre that you're away from the noise and can rest peacefully at night. But, the front door to the hotel is 30 seconds away from the train station, so travelling around the city is super easy. You can get to Karasuma station in under 15 minutes. You're also on the right line to get to Nara without having to go into central Kyoto. Rooms were very big by Japan standards. Everything was clean and in good order. Staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend.

Hostels in Japan are on another level than the rest of the world and this is the top of the top. The bed and area they provide each guest almost feels like being in a private room for me. Its spacious, very clean and stylish. The common area is perfect for socializing and I made alot of friends throughout my trip. The staff is also very nice and helpful. Location is great right at the main street with everything you could want in a walking distance. I 100% recommend if you are staying in Kyoto!

Our stay at the Temple Hotel was so much more than we hoped for. Our hosts were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The experiences on offer gave us an insight into Buddhism, temple life, traditional food, and culture. Everything was of the highest quality and thoughtfully provided. It was easy to catch the train there, and Ayabe is a delightful place after the busyness of Kyoto. We would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully, we can visit again one day.

Kyoto Higashiyamaso created an excellent authentic Japanese stay. The staff were amazing and made our stay. They were so friendly and helpful.Their service was impeccable and they went above and beyond for us, flagging down taxis, giving us the best information about Kyoto etc. The room was very clean, spotless and the futon beds were very comfortable. Our room had a great view. It was in a great location and very close to the bus stop. We would definitely stay here again.

Zen Kyoto Apartment hotel was beautiful. We stayed on the top floor. Our room had a living room, two dining areas, a kitchen, two beds, and bathroom. It was spacious for a Japanese hotel. It is located about 3 minutes from the Takeda station. Every one of the staff members that we interacted with was extremely helpful, and kind. It is not close to many tourist attractions, but that is something that we enjoy as it was very quiet for our stay.

This is our second visit to Kyoto within a year, and once again, we chose to stay at Hotel Musse. When planning our trip, I asked my kids which hotel they wanted, and they immediately chose Hotel Musse. The location is excellent, offering convenient access to everything. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and there is always someone available who speaks English. The breakfast was also very good. We would definitely return if we visit Kyoto again.

Hotel is centrally located right above the Kyoto train station which made it super accessible after a long day of exploring Kyoto and its many shrines, as well as outlying areas like Nara. The room itself was super clean, had an excellent bathroom with separate shower/tub area, and a really cool toilet with an auto opening/closing toilet seat cover. The room itself was very spacious and had a super comfortable bed with great pillows.

Everything! The location was perfect for our visit and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. The hotel is beautiful, and modern and has great amenities such as a kitchenette and washer and dryer. The staff also made great recommendations for dinner. We spent almost 2 weeks in Kyoto at the Tomoya Residence Hotel and we loved every minute of our stay. When we visit Kyoto in the future, we will stay here again.

Room was big and very nice - every second day they were cleaning our room, change our sheets and we will get new pyjamas. Food in the restaurant was great and all staff was very nice helpful and efficient....and thanks for free drinks coupons. Hotel is positioned well close to all attractions and just one metro station from Kyoto station also just less than 100m from bus and metro lines. So many nice small restaurants in area....

The Hotel is well located with access to Kyoto Subway and local trains. The area straight outside the hotel is very pleasant and relaxing. It is easy walking distance to Kyoto Imperial Palace, Kyoto shopping, and an abundance of good value restaurants. We used this Hotel as a base to explore Kyoto, Nara, Otsu and Osaka. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Public Bath was wonderful after a day of touristing in the summer heat.

It was an amazing hotel with a good sized, clean and very comfortable room. The hotel is walking distance from the Kyoto station but tucked away on its own. The beautfiful breakfast buffet was deliciously wonderful with both Japanese and western dishes. The staff made my cousin and husband feel special with a happy anniversary greeting with chocolates! I highly recommend Mitsue Garden Hotel Kyoto.

Everything - amazing courteous staff, squeeky clean and spacious room with an out-of-this-world hinoki bathtub (truly heavenly to soak in one after a long walk in Kyoto Gion festival), and an absolutely superb Japanese-style breakfast. Very conveniently located, easy to reach. Plus, a tiny coffee shop nearby (Murmur) serves hands down the meanest matcha affogato with a cute view of the canal.

The property was clean, well maintained and the room quite spacious for Japan. The amenities were wonderful and the pajamas were very comfortable. The hotel was just a few minutes walk to Kyoto Station which made it very convenient to get around. There were lots of restaurants and shopping options close by. We would definitely come back to the Rihga Gran. It was our favourite hotel in Japan.

We had a great stay at Saku Kyoto! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We especially enjoyed the welcoming tea ceremony and complimentary sake. The accomodation was located in a convenient location, close to transit, laundry, restaurants, and just a short walk from nishiki market. This was our favorite accomodation out of the places we stayed in Japan. Highly recommended!

Easily the most stylish hotel I have been to. Every room features an installation of art. We have been to "My Room" containing a play of images and lights depicting Kyoto. The rooms are big for Japanese dimensions, the bathroom quite luxurious. The hotel is perfect for visiting Kyoto and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Total recommendation!

I loved the proximity to the Kyoto train station. We were able to easily walk to the hotel with our luggage. Loved all the options of things we could borrow from the front desk and on sight laundry we could utilize. We even had a fire pit in our room! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was modern, clean, unique and lovely.

Excellent location in the heart of Gion with easy train connections to Kyoto Station and buses to Arashimaya. Good amenities- can self-collect toiletries and teabags from downstairs. The room is reasonably spacious for Japan. Certain staff members were able to speak good English and helped with making restaurant reservations.

Great location, the kyoto station is just located opposite of the building. Excellent and friendly staff. They are okay to store your luggage before check in and after check out. Hotel breakfast is delicious. Room is cozy and comfortable. 10 out of 10 for rating. I will definitely come back during next visit to kyoto !!
