Bizzare shopping centre as name suggests gave a quirky experience for traveller for food and beer supplies. Lawson's were familiar and welcome for the same reason. Taxi drivers very pleasant little English spoken by locals but all friendly did not venture outside accommodation and train station as we were visiting Kyoto for two days . Overall a pleasant experience at sun hotel

The rooms are standard size for Japan (so economy size) but we found it to be comfortable and clean. The hotel can be hard to find as it was the entrance was tucked away in an alley. But the location is unbeatable! Walking distance to central Kyoto and shopping. Also walking distance (about 1-2 miles) to the Kiyomizu temple and lots of different other sites! Great restaurants near the restaurants and very helpful in helping us make a reservation at a nearby 5 star tempura restaurant. One of the best hotels we stayed in during our stay in Japan!

The location of the hotel was perfect for my stay in Kyoto, bus station almost right by the front door. Easy to get to from train station. The rooms are spacious enough, considering you're in Japan. Definitely a good size for one person, might be a little more tight for a couple and 2 suitcases. Servicing of the room was excellent, fresh towels every day (despite not asking for it). Swipe cards for rooms as well as for elevator provide some additional security. Would definitely stay again.

The studio apartment was perfectly spacious and extremely comfortable and clean. It was definitely the best value I saw in the area. The Inari train station is just a close walk from the hotel as well as the Fushimi Inari shrine (a beautiful and popular tourist spot). Two stops from the train to Gion. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We needed help with the washer/dryer a couple times! If I ever came back to this area of Kyoto I would 100% stay at Gentle Fox Hotel again.

The outside of the hotel was quaint and very authentically what you would expect a Japanese hotel to look like. The staff when we were checking in were very helpful. There was a kettle in the room. Location is passable. It was easy to get to Nishiki Market but took some time. It was also not difficult to get back to Kyoto Station. There are plenty of shrines around just dotted in the surrounding streets. The bathroom in our room was small but functional.

I stayed 3 nights in UNIZO Inn Kyoto. Very modern hotel in the heart of Kyoto. Perfect location for sites seeing and shopping. A few minutes to Gion and Nishiki Market and many bus lines stop close by. I liked the mini room, Japanese style, which was well equipped. The room was very quiet all day long. The staff were very professional and nice, trying to help in any question I had. A very nice stay in beautiful Kyoto.

Beautiful rooms and easy to get there from any part of the city. It was close to two major public transportation stations. The beds were really comfortable and there are plenty of good places to eat around here. Kyoto is generally more expensive than most places in Japan. I highly rec starting early here to explore as places get crowded quickly...then come back to this hotel and relax!

I loved the large apartment style rooms. Compared to most hotels in Japan, and especially hotels in Tokyo, my room was spacious. The location is ideal for people just arriving in Kyoto; it is one stop away from Kyoto station on the subway. There is also a 7-11 next door and a grocery store one block away. The staff are very friendly and fluently speak English, Japanese, and Chinese.

The small Japanese bath on the third floor. The Japanese Garden on the ground floor. The hotel is mainly frequented by elderly Japanese who don't go online so much, so internet speed is good. It is quiet, quite small (3 floors of guest rooms), and feels private. Its location next to the imperial garden is hard to beat for its 'traditional Kyoto'-feel.

The rooms are nice, clean and with a good size. Perfect location in Kyoto, many sights, restaurants and activities at walking distance. The night bath at the roof top was an amazing way to enjoy the city. I recommend to order the traditional Japanese breakky at the hotel as it is just amazing. Good value

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is conveniently located across the street from the Kyoto station which makes getting around easy. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English. This was my first time in Japan and they were able to give me tips about places to see and how to get there.

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Directly across from the train station, but on the side opposite Kyoto tower. I was expecting a typical Japanese business hotel, but found that the hotel was a bit more upscale than that. Staff was very helpful, and spoke excellent English, which was nice.

Really very nice and clean accommodation. The room was bigger than usual accommodations in Japan. Discovering a washing machine in the apartment was a great positive surprise. Location just few minutes walking distance from the Kyoto main trains station - very convenient for tourism and day trips.

Conveniently located in one of Kyoto's best shopping districts and a ten-minute walk from two metro lines. Excellent breakfast buffet. Obliging staff. Lots of nearby dining choices. Slightly bigger rooms than are typical for this grade of Japanese hotel.

This hotel is great. Biggest hotel room we have seen in Japan. New or newly remodeled, spotless clean. Big bathroom, comfortable beds, friendly staff. Reasonable price. Close to bus lines. If we were in Kyoto again we definitely would use this hotel.

Conveniently located in Gojo, right next to the subway station. One subway stop away from Shijo, which is the commercial/central area of Kyoto. The room is quite big for Japanese standards. You can walk to a few restaurants from the hotel as well.

-Great localisation. The hostel is close to the Kyoto station. Also it is localized in the center of Kyoto so it is a good starting point for sightseeing in every part of the city. -Friendly, helpful staff. -The atmosphere of an old Japanese house.

The hotel is located not far from many attractions in Kyoto. The room was spacious as for Japanese standards and included kitchenette and washing machine. Beds were very comfortable. The price was very attractive and I was positively surprised.

Standard western style hotel, that offered a nice change up from our traditional Japanese hotel we were staying at in Tokyo. The rooms were big, beds were comfy, and we had a great view of Kyoto's Imperial Gardens from our room.
