Located in Tateyama, LOCOMOTION COFFEE AND BED features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. We stayed at Locomotion Coffee and Bed for a couple of days while hiking in the region. From our previous experience in hostels we did not expect anything special but were wholly proven wrong. Locomotion Coffee and Bed was the nicest, most luxurious guest house we ever stayed at. Beds are spacious and comfortable and the common room is quite cozy. There are also a fridge and electric kettle. Aside from a shower the hostel also houses an onsen that can be used free of charge, perfect after a long day of hiking. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. If wished, they can also prepare (delicious!) breakfast and dinner with vegetarian options available. Locomotion Coffee and Bed is located right across from Tateyama Station and the cable car station, making it an ideal starting point to go to Murodō. The mountains around Toyama are also worth a hike. We had an all aroud pleasant time at Locomotion Coffee and Bed and wish to return here for further exploration of the region.

Offering a barbecue and ski-to-door access, Guest House Shiroikiseki is a 7-minute drive from Tateyama Station and set in Awasuno. We had the best host! She cooked a wonderful meal for us!

Location was prefect for visiting the Kurobe Alpine Route. Dinner and breakfasts are included which are traditional Japanese. We were expecting breakfast to be a buffet style as per the photos and didn't enjoy the set Japanese menu first morning. Felt wasteful as we didn't enjoy it at all. If given the option for Western breakfast at check in would have selected for both mornings, second day was lovely. Dinners were very nice, used google translate to decipher menu, only to have an idea what we were enjoying. There is also a lounge with complimentary hot and cold drinks available all day and into the evening.

Located a 7-minute shuttle ride from Tateyama Train Station, Tateyama Kokusai Hotel offers hot spring baths, a fitness centre and simply decorated accommodation with free WiFi throughout the property.... Chef and restaurant staff were super good. Had excellent Japanese Vegetarian food in 4 years. The Chef prepared it at very short notice. Large rooms and parking at site

Everyone was very friendly. The communication was awesome and the mountain hut was very cosy and clean. We really loved it here. They even prepared vegan dinner for us after asking. Really extraordinary accommodation.
