The staff is incredible! super clean and magical. The breakfast was delicious and very well portioned. This is a historical place and you can feel how well it’s taken care of. It’s conveniently located to the plaza and you can purchase private tours for the Edward James garden directly through them.

Hotel Casa Tequis is one of the most comfortable places to stay in San Luis. It certainly is one of of the most unusual, in a very positive sense. All rooms have an individual touch and are very well kept and clean. The staff, at the reception and housekeeping, is excellent. With a perfect location, between Carranza and Cuauhtémoc there are plenty of opportunities for breakfast around. Street parking is easy to find, especially at night and on weekends.

The junior suite was larger than expected and allowed us to spread out. and relax in style after a busy week. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even providing us with food at 4am, and resolving all our issues very quickly. The welcome platter was unexpected and was a superb touch by the hotel. The bathroom in general was spacious, clean and very sleek. The bath robes were comfortable. Location was really good and our view of the city was exquisite.

    The posada is a big house with several rooms and a super cute little internal garden in the middle. The host is the nicest lady ever, showing off the local culture with a lot of cultural and historical info to contextualise what you see and eat and live around. Her suggestions, helpfulness made our stay much more confortable and enjoyable. On top, we had their tematic breakfast with tamales and huevos enhojados which was superb!

    Beautiful gardens filled with interesting plants located on a historic mill site. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Loved the boutique fabrics used on bed and drapes. Very pleasant informative staff. We also enjoyed breakfasts and one late dinner at the restaurant.

    San Luis is a great city.

    San Luis is a great city. This was my fourth visit and one could easily stay for a month here. So much to see and do. Easily walkable. Great food. There always seems to be a festival on! Make sure to visit the Leonora Carrington museum.

    Ciudad Valles is a good home base if you want to travel to the surrounding waterfall of Tamul. There is everything you would expect to find in a bigger city such as restaurants, bars, hospitals, etc. Many people stay here when traveling around to see the different waterfalls in the Huasteca region. I would recommend staying closer to whichever place you will be in, since it can be about 1-3 hour drive from Ciudad Valles to each different area; however.. some of these other areas are smaller towns and don’t have the things I mentioned previously. My favorite spot to stay in is Hostel Casa Huasteca, favorite place to eat is El Wacal, which is right around the corner from the hostel. Locals advise against going out at night.

    Because I was in Real de Catorce over 20 years ago, I was in awe about how much the town had changed and the changes they have made to attack tourists. Although my preference is less people, I do like prosperity and if this helps the town itself, then it is okay. You can still enjoy the simplicity, the rustic ambiance of the town and the view of the mountains. Walking around the entire town can be difficult, if you are not used to physical activity, as you go up and down streets, since this is a mountainous town. The meals are simple. These is not a place where you can find great steaks, but you have a choice of lots of typical Mexican food. The sweet bread is good.

    Hotel Molino - absolutely outstanding in every way.

    Hotel Molino - absolutely outstanding in every way. It's like an oasis / country estate. Hotel Molino has its own restaurant on the grounds, and it is excellent. Close by is Media Luna, a beautiful natural water park with crystal clear waters and easy access.

    Aquismon is a small town, not much to do there. It was sort of dirty and not many places to eat. We had a bad experience and walked out of a restaurant across from the plaza. The tables were so dirty and the waiter had very dirty hands. But i HIGHLY recommend the pizza place by the plaza absolutely delicious, the fries, burgers and pizza so fresh and delicious. Obviously there's great outings like the waterfalls and rivers around and near the town to enjoy. Hotel Santa Lucia was a great experience in Aquismon

    Cascada El Salto is spectacular and unspoiled. Least commercial that we visited. Loved it! Plan ahead when ravelling to El Naranjo, there are very few accomodations (hotels, restaurants, gaz stations, etc) once you leave San Luis Potosí. Bring snacks & water with you.

    The front desk staff ripped me off.

    The front desk staff ripped me off. They charged a $100 US pet deposit and said it was refundable. When I went to check out they said that it was a fee and not refundable. There were also several surcharges to my card that were not authorized by me. I am pursuing legal action with PROFECO Consumer Protection and consulting an attorney.

    Good location, for those on a long trip may visit on the way this city which has amazing San Luis Potosi coffee at Jacalito Café, may purchase good quality organic products at Raices, or find vegetarian mexican food and vegan smoothies at Kubos Jugos.
