- From $199.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 777 reviewsEverything about this place was excellent. It is in a great location, easy walking to everything in town. Be sure to check out the Whaling Museum (Slottsfjellsmuseet), just a few blocks away, with its many enormous whale skeletons and other exhibits on the history of the region. The hotel room was good size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was terrific with a large variety of offerings. The hotel has an on-site underground garage for self parking. While the parking fee was expensive ( NOK 420 per night), it was extremely convenient. (It also looked like there were some other public lots across the street and in the neighborhood that may be less pricey, especially for longer stays) Overall we had a great stay and recommend the Hotel Klubben as an excellent choice in Tønsberg.Guest review byEdwardUnited States
- From $170.15 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,429 reviewsIf you are a person of nostalgia as I am, you will definitely love this hotel! All the decorations reflect the old time but at the same time you can enjoy modern comfortableness. The room was beautiful with big windows, and the breakfast was superb. The small town is surprisingly beautiful with a lot of interesting shops. Had we known that earlier, we might have stayed in the hotel for one more days. Very reasonably priced for both the room and dinner.Guest review byYuUnited States

The people of Norway are friendly and warm. Their respect for each other shines through. It is a family-friendly place. You can walk to venues in the centre. The James Clark pub was the best bar we visited.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose from especially along the harbour (still busy at weekends in late August) and a pretty promenade along the fjord to Nordbyen. We managed to take the bus to Verdens Ende, and the beautiful car-free island of Veierland as well as the train to Oslo, during our 4 day stay, using the wonderful public transport system and VKT and VY appsGuest review byTonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I don't think we saw Larvik at its' best - on a cold, dark and windy December night - the restaurants mainly all shut around 9pm which left us with a slightly dodgy Chinese takeaway in which we found a hair, so not great. However, what we did see was quaint and pretty with a beautiful harbour.Guest review byHalfordUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beautiful little town, excellent shops for some browsing.
Beautiful little town, excellent shops for some browsing. Food shops are good too with lots of variety. There’s E-Scooters everywhere which makes travelling a breeze. If your into nature, this is a great place to go. There’s lots of different hikes and trails, we spent a long time getting lost in the cliffs on sunny days. Very easy train station, with access to Oslo main in less than 2 hours. Food prices are good and there’s lots of places to eat if you want. Locals speak English and are very accommodating. Definitely would love to go back!Guest review byPhilippaUnited Kingdom - 2.0

Disappointing stay in Tønsberg – poor hospitality and zero accountability My experience in Tønsberg was ruined by an unacceptable apartment booking situation. The host canceled on arrival due to “double-booking,” gave no assistance, and the alternative accommodation was dirty and poorly managed. It’s shocking that in a busy summer town like Tønsberg, some hosts feel entitled to treat visitors this way – with no responsibility or professionalism. This left me with no trust in local hosts and no desire to return. Tønsberg may be charming, but this level of service is not.Guest review byErikNorway - 10.0

On a road trip through Norway, knowing what I know now, I would have stayed here longer. My ferry is on Wednesday, so I have a day and a half to get to Kristiansand. I would have preferred to stay here longer, lovely hotel, great staff and lovely facilities. Put this on your radar for a stop over.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Sandefjord is very much a working, functional port town with good marina facilities for leisure boaters. There are plenty of options to dine out and have a stroll around the harbour/port area, but it is not really big on tourism as such, which is probably not a bad thing. If you are driving, the links to the major routes are easy to follow, and of course you have the ferry port for travelling over to Sweden.Guest review byacer1United Kingdom - 10.0

Having grown up in Tonsberg, I am biased but this town is the oldest town in Norway and full of history. It is particularly a summer paradise, but also a great base for exploring other parts of Norway with excellent rail links.Guest review byAtleUnited Kingdom
