Richar and his family definitely bring peace into their space. He walked with us to the significant pachamama and pachatata and explained the culture behind. His wife cooked amazing food, love especially their soup and trout!! His daughter taught us to make simple bracelets that was really fun and beautiful to have something handmade to bring home.
The room is very quiet, clean and comfortable. I slept very well 2 nights. Always hot water for tea and coffee. Hot shower is hot! View is spectacular.
I do recommend staying at least 2 nights to feel the tranquility and peace on the island.

I loved my stay here. The family are beautiful and looked after me very well with delicious food, cultural education and support in arriving and leaving. The room is artistically painted, bed comfortable with a ton of blankets to keep you warm and you get a little hot water bottle in a sock, which is very thoughtful. Bathroom is new and tiled with ceramic toilet and sink, but there's no running water- use buckets which is not a problem. There is electricity. The island is serene with no cars. Staying with this family is a memory I will cherish and never forget. You could not ask for more kind, friendly and generous people. They were so happy to share their everyday life and culture and their big hearts! Highly recommended!

The location is perfect. Stunning view from the upper porch. We had a remarkable time spending with the Host Adolfo and his family. The Host is truly a warm and cheerful person, he invited us to his every-day life which made our stay a genuine experience to remember. Highly recommend!

This place is incredible. The location is wonderful...an easy walk to the main plaza and the boat dock and you can hear the lake lapping the shore at night. Super cozy and super clean. The hosts Beatriz y Oswaldo are extremely kind and welcoming. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno,
But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Also, the food prepared in our home was very delicious.😊

This is the most peaceful place on earth.
This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.
