What I personally loved most was that every room had a spacious balcony with stunning views of the Cerna River and the surrounding mountains. It takes about 15–20 minutes to walk to downtown, but the view more than makes up for it. Moreover the owner was so soft-spoken and kind, wishing us the best stay. The scenery was truly amazing, and we'll definitely be coming back.

Good location,in the south wests part of Romania, close to the border with Danube river and Serbia; a lot to see and visit in and out of Herculane resort; thermal spring and the river Cerna,astonishing view of the river's canyon, good climate, not extreemly hot in the sommer, and not to cold in the winter, make Baile Herculane a place worth to visit, all around the year!

Very clean city, not at all crowded.
Very clean city, not at all crowded. Basicaly, no matter the hour/day, you can cross the entire town (by car) in around 15 to 20 minutes. A lot of activities in the town and also on the surrounding areas. Museums, zoo, even the tram deserves a ride just for fun and sightseeing. Barzava is a beautiful river that crosses the entire length of Resita, and it is also very clean reminds me of Bega, in Timisoara). Not to mention that Resita is very close (50-60-70 km) to some of the best natural reservations in Romania.

Located on the outskirts of the town with its own parking area, the accommodation quiet and peaceful. We received a friendly welcome, at no time did we feel the language difference was a barrier. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
Even though the hotel was not busy the menu was sufficient to cater for my dietary needs and the food good.
They were only too happy to help with our vignette and advised on the best route for ongoing journey.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection and good coffee. We were in transit but would have liked a little longer stay, we will be back.😊

Borlova is a good location if you love hiking or just to enjoy the mountaints.
Easy to go to, good roads, nice places around.
Accomodation can be easily found at locals, or nearby hotels.
Same for eating, few restaurants around, plus food delivery option from Caransebes, the closest city.

The view of the mountains is beautiful and the history associated with this place. The Apollo bath museum, the statue of Hercules and the Casino are nice places to visit. It is worth taking a short trip to Orsova (18 km) and see the impressive sights of The boilers of the Danube and the sculpture of Decebalus -king of Dacians- carved in the mountain rock

Nice spot to just spend a couple of nights and explore the mountaineous surroundings. Oh, and eat. There are a few top rated restaurants which you should not miss. Resita has a pretty high supply of sea food, unexpectadly.

The town itself doesn't offer much, except for the decadence of a glorious past. Which is quite touching, at least for me.
But the hiking trails around the town and the valley are amazing. This is actually the main attraction of the area, that worth every effort.
