I travel a lot and this place is outstanding - the best resort I've stayed in. Beautiful villa, beautiful resort, wonderful white-sand beach and turquise water. Very pampering, everything thought of down to the smallest detail. The villa is very spacious, very well designed, the shower was a real treat. Great complimentary drinks at sunset upon arrivsl, daily afternoon tea. Nice breakfast buffet. Dinner on the beach was a great experience.

Very good price, lots of choice at breakfast and an amazing big gym with many classes, sauna and steam room. (All in the price).
Classes were very professional. Towels, water etc. so yes very happy here!
Downstairs is the night market. Not a lot of tourism.
Staff very friendly, they all are lovely and they know in one day your room number etc. felt very good to be here.

Everything. The staff was amazing, and they made our stay memorable. The room was big, and the place was spotless. We loved the beach, garden, and pool. We stayed only three nights, but I wish we could stay longer.

Rayong is a hidden gem.
The night market is fantastic, it is located nearby the star 3 hotel
There is a part of the city, which is in a conservation area, it is beautiful. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the road, but it is well worth a walk down it.
Also not far from the conservation area, is a sports circuit, which has a full sized football pitch and 5 aside pitches, basketball courts and many other sporting facilities.
A large running circuit encircles the football pitch, and it comes alive early in the evening, before sunset, as many locals jog, run and walk around the circuit.
It's wonderful to see.
There's also a wooden walkway alongside the main river, where you can walk under the shade of the mangroves and enjoy the calm of the river, it is very relaxing.
I'd recommend a stay here.

This resort has it all, perfect accommodations, price, restaurants. When things get back to normal again, they will have a coffee, cake shop, souvenier shop, multiple swimming pools and very clean beach. Mostly very hospitable staff. I have returned there many, many times and it has never been a disappointment ever. Almost feel like family when we go there now, everyone who has stayed remembers us. This is perfect for anyone, single, couple, families too. Once you find it, you return over and over again, I do.

The area is perfect for a peacefull holiday. We did not have enough time to explore everything in the area. I avoid the heavily tourist areas on purpose so can't comment. I went for a quiet family holiday and that was fulfilled.

Simply the best hotel we have ever stay at. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast great. Had a Cobb salad for the first time in the restaurant. Woukd highly recommend it. Happy hour cocktails at the pool are two for one so you are paying 125 baht per cocktail. Great price!

To be honest Koh Samet is not for us.
To be honest Koh Samet is not for us. I understand the attraction being 2.5hrs from Bangkok and has some beautiful beaches but the size of the island and transportation means you feel completely condensed.
We went low season (flooding and National emergency in Bangkok). Was quiet but still felt condensed. The beaches on the south east and north wes are indeed beautiful. Less so the north. We stayed at Ao Cho Hideaway and although i would no recommend the beach the resort Low season was one of the best.
High season Koh Samet would be a highly condensed stressful experience. Lack of decent roads and transportation. Small amount of space. Lack of quality resturants and high costs i would avoid unless resort resturants ith high occupancy, fireshows and people fightlng for space and beach loungers is you thing.
High season go to Koh Chang. Low season on a short break and easy access from Bangkok then Koh Samet but be mindful what i have said.
Another consideration is that if like us you enjoy relaxing on our balcony with the qut and nature with a few cold beers from 7-eleven and your own snacks the you have a logistial issue. If you like easting authentic thai food at normal prices than you have a logistical issue. if your hotel is in the south. Local mini markets will be 100thb for cold big Singha. .
For people who say Koh Samet is one of the most beautiful islands i can assure you it is not. It s a convenient island that has some beautiful beaches but not the best.

Its a nice place for some people but I couldn't find anything to see. Ko Samet was ok. It was expensive and on top you had to pay the conservation fee to go to the island. I would go somewhere else next time.

Mae Pin is a weekend gathering spot for local Thai families, and this is possibly one of the things we liked most. There are plenty of small canteens and bar/restaurants, from the most humble BBQ barrow to the more international choice. You need to bear in mind that the beach stretches for a few miles, and that it is a great experience to just be there, walk along the shore, feel the wind and hear the waves. Yes, it can be quite windy in the rainy season at least, but we never found it a problem. It added to the charm.
