Relatively new hotel. Clean spacious room. I like that they have room slippers (new in a plastic). Very comfortable bed! Elevator is available. Location is close to kim yong market and lee garden market. Quiet place to stay. Parking lot is limited, but enough for my sedan car. It was not full when I arrived, so I could park my car in their basement parking lot.

    We like the room, it's cozy and clean. However there are insects in the bed, we don't know what insect that bit us while sleeping because it turns out to leave you a red mark on your skin. Maybe it's a bed bug or something. The place is also good, as it is calm and perfect for relaxation if you want to rest without hearing noises, this is absolutely the best place for you to stay. The swimming pool is small, but it's totally fine. However, in the morning the water is no longer clean as it is already being used the previous days of different guests. But you can choose not to swim in the pool, it's up to you. There's not so much attraction as it is not well maintained unlike if you'll look at the photos being posted online that it has flowers, but in reality the flowers and some attractions are gone. The staff is friendly and nice, very accommodating.

    Friendly staff, room is neat and clean, bed is comfy, security is good (you have to have a room key to tap on the glass door before you reach the lift), reception is on 24 hours basic, you could check in and check out in odd hours. There is a wet market nearby, selling fruits and other necessities... The room price is reasonable.

    I am considering retirement in HY and this first stay was a real help to decide. I really like HY. There is so much I haven't seen on this trip but I will return in a couple of months. BOLT is a great way to get around, average journey price 55 baht (april 2025) BOLT drivers are amazing, you can have a car turn up in 2 minutes and be on your way. The selection of food in HY is off the scale. I have not met one person who was unkind or rude. I have had a couple of bad experiences in cafes with cold food or slow service but nothing to put me off returning to this city.

    We were not here for sightseeing as were only doing a border run. It is a great location to stay if you need to re-enter Thailand. We will definately return in the near future and enjoy exploring the town.

    Not much things to do except crossing the border from...

    Not much things to do except crossing the border from malaysia to thailand. Howver, there are many Halal food stalls, restaurants in the Night Market. There is Asian Cultural Village (but close early on Sunday?). Personally, I find that it's more of a drop-by place for me cos the reason I was there was to attend a cultural ceremony in Kodiang, Kedah abt 30 mins driving Danok-kodiang. Also head to hat yai (1 hour drive danok-hat yai). Places to chill out at nite include the clubs nearby M Village (beside M hotel), snooker club at the night market, the night market, etc.

    Lots of places to visit and reasonable rates. Great choices for food with delicious, fresh street food to great restaurants - choices to fit different budgets. Great for family vacation as it is more than just a place to shop. With the hot and humid weather, best to dress with light clothing. You can negotiate for day rates with various drivers and this will make it easier for your going to different places around Hatyai.

    Great place to stay.

    Great place to stay. We stayed on the island Ko Yoh, and it was perfect - really quiet and pretty. Lots of nice restaurants. There is a lot to see and do. We used it as a bit of a time to see things and relax in our accomodation.

    Padang Besar is a border bazaar/market town that's been around for a long time. It has the Malaysian-Thailand border running right through it now so there's a Malaysian side and a Thai side. Whichever side you're on, you can easily go through immigration (the Malaysian and Thai counters are literally next to each other). Just make sure you have your passport and check visa requirements beforehand, of course. I went to the Malaysian side. Locals from both sides of the border come here by the bus-loads to shop for housewares, food items, clothes, toys etc. My father is from Kedah, the state below Perlis, and back when he was a kid you would literally walk across the train tracks to the bazaar proper. His mother used to get all her kitchen and houseware needs here. As a traveller, you probably don't need any more clothes or pots and pans, but if you do, I love the kitchenware selections (I love cooking)! I just walked around and listened to the mix of languages being spoken, people-watched, sat down and ate at one of the many busy food establishments, then shopped for snacks (nuts, crackers, dried fruits, cookies etc.). Worth it, and cheap. I bought both to snack on and as "buah tangan" (literally "fruit from the hands" or travel gifts) for my family in KL.

    Good place to visit.

    Good place to visit. Many good places to visit in Hat Yai and Songkhla. Gooden Statue Mermaid, Stainless Steel Temple, 4-Face Buddha, Floating Market etc. Foods are good and very cheap. Grab for transport is cheap too. People here are very nice. My only wish for them is to learn more English and so, they can earn more !!
