We absolutely loved it here and didn’t want to leave. We are family travelling and my children loved it. The bungalows are clean and private, located in a family homestead with beautiful gardens and a lovely cat. I slept best here out of all the stays in Thailand. The rooms have everything you’d need. The location is perfect. Part way between Charlie beach and the village and restaurant beach, each a 10 minute walk. Opposite is ‘The Home’ restaurant where we ate a delicious breakfast each day, which was super convenient and easy. Our host and his wife were extra helpful and welcoming. The island itself is lovely offering beautiful beaches one of which is reached by Kayak. Plus the usual boat trip ect. There is a buzz about the island and it has a good mix of fun and relaxation.

Maison De Cheer We stayed here from the 9/03/24 through to the 11/03/24. A two night stay as we travelled back from Pak Meng Beach & then were travelling onto Patong on the 11/03/24. Check in was smooth & efficient & only Credit card or the Thai QR code system was accepted as payment. I used credit card as I don’t have access to the Thai QR code system. Our room was ready & we were able to check in at 12.30PM. Our room was 421 facing the rear of the property & I would suggest that if you have the opportunity, You should book a rear room as the road past the hotel is quite busy. In reception area there is tea/coffee facilities for free & ample seating if you must wait for anyone. There are toilets there as well. The breakfast area is behind a glass partition & hours for breakfast are 7-10am. Breakfast is a set menu & is 75THB=$AUD3.18. elevator in operation at the hotel & there is 5 floors. Concierge brought our bags to the room, set up the A/C & made sure everything was good. As we have found with most SE Asian beds, they were a little hard, so I went back down to the reception & requested pillow toppers for the beds & that was no problem for them to do so. A/C kept the room cool as the temperature whist in Trung was 38,39 Deg C for the two days. Our room configuration was two single beds, but they were quite spacious. Fridge kept the drinks cold & there were multiple power points available to charge devices. Bathroom area was quite good & the shower as reported before in my reviews was a wall heater for the hot water & it also had a separate cold-water shower. Amenities (shampoo, toilet paper, hand wash supplied & room serviced daily.  There is a courtyard on the 4th floor that is a great place to just sit & relax as well. Location is a key point with Maison as it is just across the railway lines from the Train station.

It was pretty much PERFECT. The warm welcome; the location; the food; the setting of the hotel (it is like you are within a lovely garden). The stand out though is the service from the staff - it was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are queuing up for the happiness they display in wanting to be helpful to guests. For a small island, the bungalows are surprisingly comfortable and clean and the breakfast is also impressive considering that you are on a small island. The resort is in a prime location on a wonderful beach. The German hotel manager is always available to answer any questions you may have about Koh Mook. The resort is definitely the best choice if you are in Koh Mook.

The staff are fantastic! Very attentive, food in the resort was delicious. The hotel also facilitated a boat trip with a local company where we were picked up and dropped off at the resort. The resort is comfortable enough to dine and swim there. The pool is great. The resort is also 1km away from Pak Mengs main strip of restaurants.

The staff were kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant was hands down the best on the island. The thai omelete, the massaman curry (really all the curries), the french toast, the roti, the mango sticky rice, the pad thai, morning glory, drunken noodles, agh everything was incredible. Besides the food, the views were incredible. The sunrise was spiritual. The ambiance is so peaceful and gorgeous. If you need a taxi(tuktuk), they'll call one for you. They also coordniated a private longboat tour around the island for us. We did incredible snorkeling with our local guide and was the emerald cave at a time when it wasn't packed with tourists. Short walk into town using the walking path along the water. It's also an easy tuktuk ride to the pier and to Charlie Beach for sunset. It was the most magical and peacful stay. I want to go back right now!

Ko Mook is a quiet island with not that much to do. Book a trip to the Emerald Cave with snorkelling stops, including a couple of hours on Ko Kradan, spend a few hours on Charlie Beach (Sunset Beach), and lounge around in the various restaurants and bars, but 3 or 4 nights should be enough...

Island is completely pointless to visit unless the weather is good. With gray skies the price of the island is not worth going to. It's too expensive compared to other parts of the country. Sadly I stayed 4 days and didn't see the sun once

Koh Libong is a sleepy little island that you can explore in a day. Motorbike is the best way to get around (200 baht) from local village store. it has a relaxed vibe and the locals are lovely and friendly. there are no crowds, no hustle, no bustle… just a laid back island which is like going back in time. Take the bike and visit the Dugong viewpoint, Leekpai bridge and the tower.. head to the main village and enjoy an iced coffee with the locals.. go to the stone bridge and the beach beyond to see the true beauty of the island… with the sun on your skin and the wind in your hair, a motorbike ride around the island is a must…

Fantastic again!!! The best we have done in Thailand. It’s small, can walk everywhere. No proper roads, they are block paved streets. Beaches are wow!!!! Food on the island is excellent. It’s very authentic, a real island with real family, there are 1200 Thais who live on the island so it’s very close knit. I wish we stayed longer.

Koh Mook is a beautiful island.

Koh Mook is a beautiful island. There are no cars, just mopeds and motorcycle taxis. The beaches are quiet with beautiful white sand, great bars and views. The island is quiet with not too many tourist. The small town is near the pier as you arrive and has numerous restaurants and bars. We used City Centre restaurant on more than one occasion, but everyone we used was first rate. My wife and I travelled with three friends and we all felt safe and everywhere and the people so friendly, by the end of our 10 night stay we felt like we knew everyone on Koh Mook! A motorcycle taxi is 50 barts per person and the drivers are friendly. The Emerald Cave trip is a must do, but go early (8ish) to miss the tourists from the other nearby islands. We used Mr Jes (thing it was JP Travel) near the pier to book our boat trips. No hard sell and good value for money.

I know Trang from my early days, some 34 years ago when I...

I know Trang from my early days, some 34 years ago when I lived here... There are just a few parts of Thailand that can match the diversity and lush green surroundings - one would be Khao Lak. Trang has many limestone caves, temples and an abundance of waterfalls and islands to explore. I still love this place very much today, after such a long time and keep coming back with my family. If you want to explore Thailand unspoilt and like in the good old days, away from the crowds, Trang is the perfect choice for you!

We visited Koh Kradan for the first time and spent there just 2 nights. Wonderful sea full of fish. Small island. You can rent a kayak. We were charged 500bth (2 adults, 1 kid) at the arrival at the pier as entry to the national park. That may make sense, maybe is better to know about it before. Just about only 7 resorts next each other. Wonderful beach with natural shades from trees. It was worth it to stay there 2 nights rather than to come just for a quick trip by longboat.

It's not walkable from pier to resorts or attractions, but motor-taxis are readily available and inexpensive (or you can rent your own motor bike), and the locals are friendly, quiet and respectful. Great 'diamond in the rough' island!!
