Room size is exceptional for the price point. The whole hotel is perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. So sorry I forgot to bring my swimming shorts because the pool looked very inviting. And they run a free shuttle into town if you can’t get a table in the restaurant.

I really loved the vibe at this hotel - from the amazing scent when you walk in, to the album covers behind the front desk and the cool cafe in the reception. When I got to my room, i was blown away. Very spacious, great view over the Art museum, a huge bed, Japanese toilets, fabulous shower, and Aesop amenities! In fact, it was hard to leave! the breakfast was great - i like the way they do it by ordering alacarte rather than a buffet as it feels like there is less food waste and the food is fresher and more hygienic. I wish I had selected the room with the record players but then I might not have gone out to enjoy Tainan's nightlife and stayed in enjoying my room all night!

The staff were very friendly upon arrival and for the duration of our stay. The room was very well equipped with all amenities you could think of. Balcony was a bonus! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the aircon was on point. Cantonese restaurant was good, although a few dishes were forgotten about, but the male waiter was very young and apologised for his mistake. Food was tasty and decent portions, although a little pricey.

Hotel was a big surprise fro me. In lobby for 24 hours there are coffee and tea service, cola,and soft drinks are for free of charge. Room was really nice and pretty big. AC was operating well. Also self laundry service is available all time for free.

The staff are mostly young girls but they really go the extra mile to help. Very cheap (but a little more expensive than six months ago). The location in from of the main station is great, with many bus lines stopping in front of the hotel.

The location is really handy, it's right next to the shopping mall, with a door directly there. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are very comfortable with a choice of pillows, if you don't like your pillow, you can just switch to another one.

We were expecting better according internet, the old city is very limited, But Dutch (Hollander) Forts, and Koxinga story interessing. 3 days were enough for us, even if we missed the confucius temple (opening aperture did not fit our possibilities). I can not precise exactly where we went.

I hired a local taxi driver, and I have the freedom to visit wherever I want at my own time. from sightseeing at the " Little Amazon "(四草），salt field to local street food like beef soup ,etc...

Tainan is set up to cater for Asian (Chinese/Taiwanese)...

Tainan is set up to cater for Asian (Chinese/Taiwanese) visitors - we saw very few westerners (about a dozen) during our 3-night stay. Limited English (if at all) is spoken in Tainan - Use Google Translate (English to Chinese Traditional (Mandarin). On-street food establishments have few (if any) English Menus. Getting to Tainan from Taipei is easy - use the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) - book on Klook up to 4 months in advance, book an actual train up to 29 days ahead on the TSHR mobile App and collect your tickets from any THSR desk in any HSR station before travel - it may seem a complex system, but it is easy and works. Non-Taiwanese passport holders can get 50% discount on the HSR through Klook. The HSR is brilliant - we reached 294 km/hr (184 mph) at one stage. It is possible to take an early morning train from Taipei to Tainan, spend the day at Tainan's major city centre tourist attractions and take a late evening train back to Taipei. There are three notable city centre tourist attractions in Tainan worth visiting - Chikan Tower, Confucious Temple and Hauaski Department Store (does not open until 11:am). Most other Tainan tourist attractions involved travelling well outside the city centre - you need a taxi or book a tour with a local operator.
