Better than I expected for a lower cost motel. Even had eggs & French toast bits. Cereals, tea, coffee, juice & fruit for breakfast. Location was good, close to lots of restaurants & just a few minutes from downtown & access to the Heritage Trails.

Bayview Inn is essentially charging me over $200 because they didn't check their voicemail. I left three message cancelling my reservation but they said they were charging me for the room anyway. The employee with whom I spoke said they did not get my messages but the recording on the voicemail confirmed I had reached the Bayview Inn and said someone would call me back. No one did until they called to tell me I'd be charged for the cancelled date. I would hope I'm worth more than $215 as a customer and I hope their reputation is worth more than $215.

This place is gorgeous!!

This place is gorgeous!! I really enjoyed everything the UP had to offer except for the service. The service at restaurants is terrible!! The only places we went to that had actual good service was Texas Roadhouse and Rose's Dugout. We tried a few places downtown and when you walk in and wait to be seated, they just look at you and keep walking. No "hey welcome someone will be right with you" nothing and the places we went to weren't busy at the time. I thought it was just one restaurant but we tried 3 different places downtown and the service was the same. Outside of downtown, the restaurants service and the food is great. Gas was very cheap compared to the lower peninsula and getting around was fairly easy. The hiking and biking trails are awesome!

The Painted Rocks was well worth the trip.

The Painted Rocks was well worth the trip. Visiting other points of interest is well worth your time. A lot of beautiful . breathtaking waterfalls in the area. Except for the one that wanted to charge $12 per person. A natural wonder taken over by greed. OK, we have a gift shop and employees. No Ticky, no washy. KMA! Except, Early E Byrd restaurant. Take a sausage and cut it in half and then declare it "two pieces". And not even apologize!! And charge me for two pieces! Shame on You!!!

Our son is working at Pictured Rocks for the summer, so being able to stay close by with an affordable room was just what we were looking for. We plan to be back multiple times this summer and hope to stay in Wetmore again. Easy access to Munising, Pictured Rocks lakeshore and Grand Marais for a fun day trip!

We loved the relaxed vibe and no cars.

We loved the relaxed vibe and no cars. We brought our bikes and enjoyed exploring the entire island by bike. Food and lodging are expensive, but tons of outdoor activities that are free or low cost. We ate at Pink Pony. Overrated. Great Turtle-best service. Brook was amazing! White fish and meatloaf were great. Watercolor cafe for lunch-cool place! Smoothies were delicious and loved the painting supplies on the tables to create your own masterpiece. Ice House BBQ is worth it. Woodfire pizza is top notch and huge salads that were fantastic. Pleasantly surprised by selection and low prices at Doud's Market. The Fort was worth the tour. Enjoyed the hospital exhibit and reading some of the letters from officer's family. Loved seeing the Boy scouts volunteering there and enjoyed chatting with them. Enjoyed Arch rock, the secret garden and butterflies of Mackinaw. Very cool. Of course you have to take home some fudge. All delicious. JoAnn's was our favorite for taste and delightful staff. .

Good to see the new construction on the buildings that sadly were lost to fire. Had a fabulous meal at Mateo's in The Magnuson Poneer Inn hotel. Service and food was exceptional, and only had to walk down the hall to our room when done. We will go back.

We checked out the soo locks from the visitor center.

We checked out the soo locks from the visitor center. Enjoyed walking around downtown. There is a lot of shops for souvenirs and other gifts as well. We had dinner at a restaurant called Goetz Lockview right in the middle of downtown. Our food we had were whitefish tacos, chicken strip basket and the shrimp basket. All three dinners were amazingly delicious!! We left that restaurant full and happy!

We very much enjoyed the surrounding nature. All the restaurants we ate at were amazing. Locals were friendly. Some roads could use a little work but that is probably every city. On Saturday we drove to Copper Harbor. It was a nice drive. Many locations are very dog friendly. Which we appreciated.

Ironwood is a great place to spend a few days many hiking trails and cool waterfalls, short staffed in many restaurants made it more difficult to find places to eat but this is happening in many areas. Ironwood is definitely worth exploring. I went to the area twice this past year and each time explored something different. I do not ski but the area looked like it would be a very fun place for a winter ski trip or a snowmobiling trip.

The hotel was clean.

The hotel was clean. The desk clerks were pleasant and helpful and presented me a welcome gift that included water and snacks. The breakfast had a lot of choices. I didn’t care for the eggrolls served that morning but there were a lot off alternatives including other sources of protein.
