The ramp to our second-floor room was a surprise, but so much better than stairs! We were also surprised to be directed from the main lobby to another building, but it was quiet and farther from the road, so actually a very good location.

The location was exceptional! Being right on the water you can watch the sun rise over the lake every morning. In the evening, a large firepit was available for anyone to join and only steps from the beach. The grounds were very well maintained and decorated for the fall season. The rooms were super clean as was the indoor pool and all other amenities. Their breakfast was the best with choices of eggs, sausage, different omelets waffles, cold cereal and freshly baked cinnamon buns. Free shuttle to and from the ferry dock to Mackinac Island also.

This iconic location offers the best views of Lake Superior one could hope for! Our room was large, comfortable and all very high quality. John who checked us in was incredible; friendly, professional and very helpful and recommended the Trivia Quiz to us which was turned out to be fantastic fun and a great way to spend the night! Everyone we met from the restaurant staff to the bar made us very welcome and matched the grandeur and quality of the Landmark Inn. Plenty of parking and coffee in the lobby in the morning as well!

This was a perfect motel. The owners were so helpful and friendly. We messaged we were stuck in traffic on the other side of the bridge and our arrival was late. They replied right away. The room was exactly like the pictures, very clean and great little amenities. Very happy with our stay.

We have no complaints.

We have no complaints. When we booked our stay, we had no idea that the bridge would come before St Ignace and what a pleasant surprise it was when you see the bridge over the treetops as you're driving toward the Breakers! The town itself is small which was very welcome! Easy to walk around. The only thing that could have been better would have been more of a selection of restaurants.

I built a house and lived in Marquette for eight years in the 70's and 80's. The retail growth has made a great place to live even greater. The creation of parks and additional bike trails have made the city even more attractive. The change from industrial buildings and facilities along the lakeshore to new housing and green space are a plus.

The bike ride around the island was so enjoyable. We stopped for lunch at the roadside cafe - the owners were friendly and a genuine example of the hospitality you would hope to encounter on vacation. The Pink Pony was a great experience - it's an icon. The pink drink was one of my favorites.

Go on the company named Original Locks boat tour.

Go on the company named Original Locks boat tour. Captain was amazing and ride was fantastic. The main street was filled with cute little shops and plenty of restaurants. Food was overpriced. Head over to Canada or explore the beaches along Lake Superior.

Beautiful views of the lake. Lots of shopping and tourist stops. Several pasty shops with all being pretty good. Bring a cooler to take frozen ones home. Some of the hotels are tired and worn so be careful when making reservations. Fall colors were great.

Charming city in a spectacular part of America.

Charming city in a spectacular part of America. Just a few miles outside of Marquette and about equal distance in between Munising or Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Keweenaw Peninsula. Great place to stay for any work being done in the area, as well as a good base of operations to seeing or travelling the UP.

Didn't spend much time there, as was on the way home from Iowa and needed to be home later in the day. They are about an hour away from the Mackinaw Bridge. The restaurant the owner recommended was good Three Seasons Cafe.

Newberry needs more properties like The Heist.

Newberry needs more properties like The Heist. I think the high school is another historical building that should be restored. I hope that is something they do soon. What an absolutely GORGEOUS building. The Tahquamenon Falls is around 30 minutes away and that is a must see for any travelers. We ate dinner one night at Timber Charlies and our experience was very good. Good food and fun little environment. Coffee shop at the old Falls Hotel serves gorgeous lattes. Mugg's in Curtis, Michigan has fabulous burgers and drinks. Great customer service. Newberry needs more people, more students, more families to move there. I hope it becomes the place it was back 40 years ago.
