Washington State

Washington is famed for its Pacific Northwest scenery – temperate rainforests, glaciated volcanoes and rugged coastline. Known for Seattle’s skyline, coffee and tech, it mixes big-city buzz with wild outdoor escape. Families get hands-on nature and easy museums. Single travellers find hiking, nightlife and ferry adventures.

Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park are top highlights, with glaciers, meadows and rainforest trails. Don’t miss whale-watching in the San Juan Islands. Stay in Seattle for culture and transport, Port Angeles for Olympic access, and Anacortes for ferries – they keep you near city comforts.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lucky Eagle Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet, which made for a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. We didn’t visit the casino, but the hotel itself felt relaxing and well-maintained. The location was convenient, and everything we needed was right there. I’d definitely stay again!

This is a great city to visit.
Seattle

This is a great city to visit. Traffic can be a nightmare though- as is often typical for cities. Visit the Chuhullie glass exhibit, the market place, the space needle and parks. We were there for a sick relative at the U of W medical center which is great but not why most people want to go to Seattle. The food is ethnically diverse with many great restaurants.

SeaTac

It was a great airport in general, but the signage was confusing and sometimes non-existent, which is a big deal for people coming off overnight flights. Also, some escalators weren't working and neither were the elevators when trying to get to the shuttle waiting area, which meant everyone had to haul their suitcases down the non-working escalator, really bad. Other than that, it was great, with helpful and friendly staff.

The river front park was the main attraction in the city.
Spokane

The river front park was the main attraction in the city. The people were friendly and nice and the City area was great to see. I would not stay longer than 3-4days as in this time you will see everything and run out of things to do in Spokane. As a stop over to the nearby lakes or other activities in the nearby area it was good to see the city.

Port Angeles has a little of everything.
Port Angeles

Port Angeles has a little of everything. It's closish to Lake Crescent which is an ultimate place to hike, bike and paddle board. The town itself has a couple good restaurants, a million coffee shops. The park walkway says it's scenic. The park is full of homeless drug addicts doing drugs in public view of children. Their mobile camps are a mess. No one is there trying to help them and remove them. This soured the whole stay for me. I left a city that has homeless addicts but this place is 4x as small as my city and has more addicts on the street and in the parks. This is a major failure. And there were political radicals waving signs at another park in downtown while drug addicts were wandering the streets right next to them. On Sunday when they could be in church or spending their time helping the homeless drug addicts. Not enable them. They were so focused on idiology while the world around them was so ugly. Don't make this a political post. It's what I saw and I'm being honest on what is negative about my stay. Worried about my bikes and stuff getting stollen in downtown Port Angeles. Not a good feeling.

Forks

Some reviewers are critical of the eating opportunities in Forks; it's not gourmet heaven, by any means, but there are several decent choices: The In Place and the Longhouse are two perfectly fine spots. The town has some charm (Chinook Pharmacy is a kick, and the Timber Museum is fun). Thriftway grocery is a well-stocked store, and the Ace Hardware a rich resource for outdoors stuff. And spectacular Ruby Beach, and wonderful Marymere Falls trail are nearby.

It's a beautiful location. Photographers dream. Nice little surrounding towns and farms and beautiful Birch Bay, and the Peace Arch in Blaine. Semiahmoo is gorgeous golf course. Do as much or as little as you like. Very relaxing and lots of good restaurant options. Last visit we had Mexican. This time delicious dumplings. Great Farmers Market and cool downtown. Lots of pretty parks. Swim in the bay or ski at Mt. Baker in winter. Something fo r everyone.
