Wonderful & spotless hotel where any guest is truly invited to relax. Gorgeous rooms with panoramic views to the ocean, well equipped from the whirlpool in the rooms, to the little biscuits and chocolats available, to the options to watch Netflix directly setup. The team running the hotel is beyond fantastic - special mention to Dean who has truly made our stay special with his impeccable service, positive attitude & attention to detail (we got our own private dinner on the balcony!). Highly recommended hotel.

The accommodation is very tastefully decorated and it is just a short walk from the sea. The owner was nice and even gave us an upgrade. It is quite impressive how the owner managed to create multiple accommodations on the same property, while our accommodation still felt very private and unique. The area felt safe walking back from the restaurants in the early evening.

Super special accomodation and one of our favs from the trip! 15 min from the next town but super remote feel, beautiful little houses. It may feel simple for some people but the serene nature is just so exquisite. De Hoop NP was a drive but still more than decent day trip from there. Kitchen equipment was okay to make a decent meal with. Little downside was the shower, while I understand conserving water, so little water came out that it was just impossible to get your hair properly wet for being able to shampoo it, even for my not thick hair. Other than that great place and very much enjoyed the baboons stopping by in the morning!

The location is second to none, incredible ocean and mountain vistas almost wherever you look, but what really made this experience something special are the staff, they are attentive, engaging and friendly. What really struck me about the staff is how much they actually care about your experience, always asking “can I help you with x” or “we can do y if that’s better for you” etc without skipping a beat!

Amazing farm where we got a very warm welcome from the giraffes and the other animals. Dogs were running around and greeted us in the morning. Clean room with a bottle of water in the fridge for free. Bed was really comfortable.

We've been visiting Hermanus for 65 years, both when we lived in South Africa and since we emigrated to Australia. It's home from home for us. It's a lovely small unspoiled town - a big village, really - in one of the most beautiful places in the world, the Western Cape coast. We love swimming at Voelklip beach (though the water is extremely cold!), walking on the famous Cliff Path, hiking in the Fernkloof mountains, seeing the wonderful unique fynbos, especially in summer when all the flowers are blooming. It's really easy to find your way around Hermanus, but you do need a car. Shopping for food or anything else is a pleasure and the people are super-friendly. The Dutchies restaurant on Grotto Beach is fabulous! Hermanus is within easy driving distance of other lovely, interesting places, like Stanford and Greyton and Betty's Bay (don't miss the Harold Porter botanical garden at Betty's Bay). If you are a tourist from anywhere in the world and visiting Cape Town, do yourself a favour and spend a week in Hermanus (120 kms from Cape Town) as well.

Swellendam is great for hikers and history lovers alike. A 30 min drive out of town, the Grootvadersbos Reserve is a must to visit. Besides the museums, the town itself boasts lovely boutiques & restaurants.

Friendly people, safe and clean town. Variety of good restaurants available. Various places to visit. Great beach area with safe swimming area. Close to Agulhas and Arniston areas with places to visit. Continuous strong winds can limit your outdoor activities.

The paths and boardwalk along the coast are delightful with benches along the way. The air is unpolluted and both days and nights are silent. It is the perfect getaway from the city to recharge one's batteries. The deli and restaurant at the circle in Harbour road is a great place to eat or get a variety of frozen, homemade, takeaway meals for self-catering.

Some good walks around.

Some good walks around. The main attraction is the most southern point in Africa which is a focal.point for holiday photos for people from all.over the world. San Parks have upgraded the facilities at Aghulus and the site opens in April 2026.

Visited LAugulhas lighthouse and most southern tip of Africa continent The waenhuis krans caves Heritage site at Kassiesbaai fishing village One can park your car and visit all of these on foot. The lighthouse by car about 1 hour Bredasdorp 30 min away provides all the shopping conveniences of a big town

Hotel was good - would select the ground floor rooms next time for the smokers (easy access to get outside). Breakfast is excellent Staff very friendly Security good Black sheep restaurant was incredible - book a table its worth it. Did not go to the casino.

Gansbaai is central to alot of activity in the area. Nice beaches, small villages. You can easily do a day trip to Hermanus and Gordons bay. Worth while and also cost effective. There is enought shops to visit majoyr retailers also.

If you want a peaceful trip just walking along the beach and sunbathing it is perfect as there is not much to do in Betty's Bay as it is a very small town. We enjoyed walking along the beach and seeing the penquin reserve.
