This hotel is a true gem! Right on the beautiful Grotto Beach it is a slice of paradise. We stayed in the beautiful Southern Right Suite, and a suite is is!! The sliding glass doors open to the beach, the breakfast is served on the terrace with views in the beautiful garden. In the evening you enter your room to a burning fire and sit with a sherry watching the fire and listening to the waves. In walking distance is a nice restaurant you can walk to on the beach. The pool is small, but heated and adds up to the perfect experience.

The parking attendant directed us to our parking spot, we switched off the engine, stepped out of the car, looked towards the ocean and.... saw whales, whales and whales. The proximity to the cliffs of these majestic mammals was just spectacular. The Marine is perfectly located and we spent a lot of time sitting on our balcony 'whale gazing'. Enough about whales. The Marine breathes quality and class. We truly enjoyed our high ceiling room with comfortable seating area and bed. The bar and restaurant offer high quality drinks and food in a very relaxing atmosphere. All members of staff were very friendly. When we return to Hermanus, we will certainly come back to The Marine.

The property was in a great location, super clean and amazing facilities. Our room was lovely and we could see the sea. Roelou made sure the hot tub was suitably warm for late night dips! Breakfast was delicious and all the people working at the property were kind and welcoming. We had an amazing BBQ with the other guests on New Year's Eve and that was certainly a highlight of our trip to SA. We will definitely be back!

The setting is stunning, with beautiful animals (including 3 giraffe) often walking up to your cabin. Each cabin has plenty of room, ours had a large double bed and there were 2 single beds in the living room, so ideal for families. The track up to the cabin is a little rough but we had no problems in our small rental car, so don't let this put you off. Finally, all of the staff there are extremely friendly 🙂

The hotel is beautifully designed. Elegant yet comfortable/cozy. The staff was attentive, friendly and so helpful. The location is perfect. I enjoyed being a bit further out of town and the immediate access to the cliff trail. Breakfast in the terrace was the perfection. My massage was also a delightful experience.

Hermanus is great, its a great holiday destination, easy to get to town depending on where you are. It has lovely restaurants, beautiful beaches, views to kill from a number of areas in Hermanus. Just find good accommodation and good area.

We had a great stay at Mountian View.

We had a great stay at Mountian View. After the warm welcome by Vera we stayed at the authentic cottage. If your with a group a perfect place. The privat garden around the cottage makes your stay feel wonderfully secluded. The garden is absolutely beautiful and teeming with birds, making it the perfect spot to unwind in total privacy. Beyond our own space, it was great to have access to the communal swimming pool and the shared lounge area, which is incredibly well-equipped with everything you might need. The location is also ideal; the center of Swellendam is just a short distance away and perfectly walkable during the day. This is definitely a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. We had a fantastic time!"

Gansbaai is 2+ hours from Cape Town and is remote.

Gansbaai is 2+ hours from Cape Town and is remote. Disappointed that the great whites have moved out of the area. People are very nice and friendly. The seafood at the Great White restaurant was excellent and very reasonable

Kleinmond is a lovely quiet little town. it has beautiful beaches and beautiful birds . I loved it and will definitely go back. I enjoyed the bric a brac shops as well.its quite dog friendly which is very important to me.

Friendly people, safe and clean town. Variety of good restaurants available. Various places to visit. Great beach area with safe swimming area. Close to Agulhas and Arniston areas with places to visit. Continuous strong winds can limit your outdoor activities.

Agulhas is a quiet beautiful little town with wonderful places to eat and visit. The people of Agulhas are friendly and the sea view is lovely, lots of walking paths and an animal friendly environment. The southernmost point of Africa where the two oceans meet and it is part of the National Parks Council.You'll discover fascinating ecological habitats, shipwrecks, national monuments and signs of ancient settlements in this nature conservation area.

The staff at the Arniston Hotel and the Manor House were...

The staff at the Arniston Hotel and the Manor House were fantastic, helping our family out with last minute accommodation on a Sunday night when the home we'd booked was locked up on arrival (in the scheduled timeframe) with no note or explanation at the time and no way of contacting the owners travelling abroad. Booking.com was unable to find alternative accommodation for us and for several hours we were stranded but we then found out from a helpful manager at the Arniston Hotel that there was availability at the newly opened Manor House. This turned out to be a real gem - luxurious, comfortable, quaint and tastefully furnished. Our stay there also included a full buffet breakfast at the Arniston Hotel which was of a very high standard. We loved our trip to the caves the next day and were just sorry we couldn't get to spend an extra day in Arniston as we'd originally planned.

It was a beautiful drive along the coast from West Somerset.

It was a beautiful drive along the coast from West Somerset. Betty’s Bay was quiet while we were here and a lot of the restaurants only open at the weekend. I would recommend bringing your own food to cook if you’re out of season. We loved our stop over here.

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is...

For visiting the hot springs it is good, however it is expensive and you are better off staying in an Air BnB near by and visiting the springs in the day time. Bedrooms lack privacy and are prone to noise from the outside and neighbouring rooms well into the evening.
