From the moment I stepped into Wonderland Boutique Guesthouse & Spa, I knew I had found something extraordinary. This is not just a hotel — it’s the result of 25 years of dedication, vision, and love, a masterpiece crafted with patience and passion. Every corner tells a story, and every detail reflects the heart of its creators. The place is cozy and intimate, with a warm charm that instantly makes you feel at home. Surrounded by lush greenery in every direction, it feels like nature is embracing you. The bar is a perfect spot to unwind, with a relaxed atmosphere that invites great conversations. And of course, the two lovely dogs are always there to greet you with pure joy — adding a unique, homely touch you won’t find elsewhere. Meeting the owner, Safiyah, was one of the highlights of my stay. Her mindset toward constantly upgrading the place, her eye for detail, and her love of music are truly inspiring. She sees her guesthouse as a living, evolving work of art — and you can feel that energy in every space. For me, Wonderland is not just accommodation; it’s an experience, a feeling, and, as I told Safiyah, “a stolen part from paradise.”

Muizenberg is well connected to drive to Cape Town (20-30 minutes) and also to the Cape of Good Hope, or to travel both directions by train. We enjoyed the little cafés, restaurants and shops on the way to Fishhoek. It is was great to have a long beach in Muizenberg but at the time we went there we found lots of seaweed and there were some constructions going on that created unpleasant smells.

Fish Hoek is quite a busy town with several supermarkets to pick up groceries; Woolworths is excellent. And the town is nicely located on the coast for easy access to both east and west coast resorts - and Cape of Good hope, too. Excellent coast path enables you to walk to other beaches - my wife and I walked to Muizenberg, a very enjoyable stretch!

Beautiful location - great beach for walks and sun bathing. There is a security issue with walking on the beach beyond a certain point ( specified at the entrance to the breach) - but if you’re aware, don’t carry valuables and stay within the ‘’safe” areas it is a beautiful beach. Lots of restaurants and small shops around.

Very impressed with Kalk Bay. It’s been great seeing the progress in five years in terms of the upliftment of the area. Village was clean and we took the train in to CT central which was great! Loved walking to Muizenberg beach and we did an early run to Fishhoek. Never felt unsafe. Will def be back.

We had a fantastic time staying in Simon’s Town—such a charming coastal gem! The location is perfect for exploring the Cape Peninsula, with easy access to Boulders Beach and its famous penguins, as well as breathtaking drives along the coast. The town itself has a peaceful vibe, friendly locals, and some great little cafés and restaurants. Our accommodation was lovely—clean, comfortable, and with stunning ocean views that made every morning feel special. It’s the perfect base for nature lovers and those looking to unwind by the sea. Highly recommend a stay here if you're visiting the Cape!
