It was truly an unique experience to stay overnight in the ex-convent. It is only several minutes from city center, yet It is so quiet and peaceful. There was even soft smell of incense in the corridors. Davide kindly took us to the basement wine cellar.

Podere Castel Merlo Resort is located in Villongo Sant’Alessandro, a 40-minute drive from Bergamo. Free private parking and free WiFi are available. The hotel was exceptional in every way, fabulous room, comfortable and very well presented. The staff were all top notch and went out of their way to ensure we had a great 2 night stay. The breakfast and evening meal were very good. However, we were disappointed with the local town of Sarnico. It was a good half hour walk away and in our opinion not worth the walk.

It was perfect for our trip in Domaso. Close to the lake as well as a small supermarket and the wine tasting we wanted to do.

The location is perfect, very beautiful view over the lake from the hotel. The hotel is run by a very nice family, very helpful and cooperative. very clean; all facilities are available. it is a shame that it is rated 3 stars; it should be 4 or 4.5 stars..i was upgraded to a better rome ; spacious without me asking. very thanks to them. The breakfast was great; the hosts arranged for taking us to the bus station with their car. very kind of them. i will sure come back again.
