To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

AustraliaNo exhaust fan in the bathroom. While we didn't find it a problem, if you are a light sleeper there is noise from the train level crossing near the motel.
Nothing fancy but all you need for a quick overnight before heading to the airport early in the morning. There is a bowling club only a short walk from the motel for dinner & drinks.

Handy to the airport and a convenient place to stay if arriving late or leaving early. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant at Gallopers Sports Club just 1 min away and the food was great and really affordable.

AustraliaWE left early on the Monday 3-15 am. there are no lights over the stairwell and the stairs are inconsistent causing both my wife and myself to fall. Luckily there was very little damage done.

New ZealandAs this motel I think would be primarily used by travellers for an overnight stay I feel there needs to be more supplied for these travellers. ie cereal bowls and spoons, plates and knives and forks. I was not happy with the mismatched mugs, one very small and one large. We usually do bring our own but unfortunately had not on this occasion. The bathroom could do with a deep clean.
Motel was handy to airport, car hire firm and cruise port. Reasonably priced for travellers.

Australia1. The reception when we arrived. The notice said reception was open from 7am to 8pm. It was locked and the intercom was patchy- couldn't hear what was being said. We arrived early and just wanted to leave our bags so we could go find somewhere to wait and have lunch. But we were told to just go around the back. There was no safe place to leave our bags so we ended up sitting in the carport with a baby for 2 hours until they opened reception. 2. The television reception was very bad and I think they turn the wifi off at times - maybe it just poor wifi range.
The location was good for the airport and cruise terminal and the lawn bowls club for dinner. The rooms were clean.
