renovation noise started at 7, we were warned about noise but did not expect that early so no sleep after that time

The Bathroom had terrible water pressure, when having a shower. Took ages to get warm water, in shower, ages to heat up. And runs out of hot water very quickly. Very noisy tap fittings, and old, needed to be replaced as the bathtub handle basically fell off from being old and rust. I also did not enjoy the see through screens, used throughout the bathroom and kitchen, with no curtains, for privacy, just see through screens. I didn't feel comfortable at all, in the shower that's the last thing you want whilst trying to enjoy a shower. .

I liked the look of Floriana, and the difference in style and set up.

In serious need of renovation; narrow staircase; holes in floor covering; light outside the room stayed on all night; no iron or ironing board supplied in the room; iron provided on request, but leaked water on my clothes.

There were only beds in the room, no chairs. Only basics supplied, but I chose this place as it was a good price, so it was good value for money.

It is right on the Esplanade. It was a nice size room for one person. Clean. Fans and and airconditioner. Had a nice feel to the place. Good value for the price. I like the guest house feel. When renovations are completed, it will improve even more. Good that renovation jobs were only done during the day.

During our stay renovation work was carried out. This was very well communicated upfront, so we knew what to expect. Our room was a bit old fashioned,. But after the renovation work been done it will be a lovely space.

The vibrations and sound of a motor coming on and off somewhere else in the building during the night interrupted our sleep somewhat.

Great location, self contained, easy to find and easy to access all the beautiful places around Cairns. Very nice to be able to walk across the road and see the foreshore for sunset.

Renovations and limited reception hindered access to the building (have to use back steps) . Room needs some maintenance and upgrading. Check in very cumbersome requiring Email of an ID document.

HISTORIC BUILDING with nice outlook (front rooms). Little flexibility with checking out.

The guest house is contactless for COVID safety which is fine, but our communication (eg on arrival) could have been improved, if the contactless approach is used, once we made contact, it was all seamless, with a lockbox.

The position right on the promenade & view from the front windows was superb, the 1.2 km walk into the center is pleasant along the waterfront... security is excellent with a locked gate, and room was comfy.

The common area upstairs could be made nicer. For me too far from facilities and liveliness of Cairns. Also building works not a great look. Overpriced considering the works, which i was warned about. Even then I don't think I would stay here a week because it's too far away from supermarkets etc. Also I came in a reception had closed and left before opening so maybe I missed warm helpful friendly caretakers that might make it more enticing at another time

The building is an old house with lots of character. Comfortable beds, small kitchenette and microwave very handy. Very quiet and at the quiet end of the waterfront. I arrived early evening and left early morning so didn't get to fully appreciate the location. Close to airport.

A couple of chairs in the room would have been better , I dislike sitting on the bed . The facilities are basic and could be improved with just simple things eg matching plates , rather than feeling like left over crockery. I think once they finish their renovations this will be an absolute gem. The building has charm.

Currently undergoing some renovations, but they were very clear that was happening. Pool , BBQ area not accessible currently, but you can see when done it would be lovely spot to sit. Location was great right on the Esplanade with an easy walk into town. The room was clean , tidy and had all the basics.

The pool was in the middle of renovation so couldn't be used but as it wasn't mid summer it was fine.

No bathroom privacy. Walls were not all the way to the ceiling. Maybe this is part of the renos?

We have never stayed at a guest house before so thought we'd stay at Floriana to see what it's like. Not our cup of tea. It is a beautiful old home A lot of care is being taken in restoring her to her glory.

The building works were very loud from 8am. we had a concrete truck working outside our room with no notice that would happen. Access was limited to a back staircase. I only met our host by accident on the second day and they were not very welcoming. We were contacted saying the electricity would be off on our last day - so no power, lighting or hot water on the morning we were leaving. It took several communications to obtain any refund for our tariff for that night and the host finally agreed to $15 off. They did provide fresh towels after two days but I had to request them.

The location is good and bad. Only a short walk to the boardwalk and mudflats. Its near the hospital though so parking is difficult and you get ambulances and emergency helicopter at times. It has some lovely Art Deco features and the room was spacious with lovely windows facing the sea.

No proper door nor window for the room nor the bathroom we had, just mosquito mesh on the frame. So we were cold in the bathroom and the room. We have been provided additional bed covers the 2nd day, so at least we were not cold anymore while sleeping.
