The room needed several bits of maintenance - light bulbs not working, no plugs on the sink or bath and no shower curtain, though the last really didn't matter as the bath and bathroom were remarkably large. The room's curtains were too far from the (double-glazed) windows to properly seal them against light seepage. Fairly steep steps up from the street, though I didn't find them a problem.

Large comfortable room in a recently refurbished property above the old town in a primarily residential area. No TV in the room (and none advertised on Booking.com), so be aware. The area is quiet, with few facilities close at hand, but also safe. The staff I met were all exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was continental style (nothing cooked), but with a very good variety and more than adequate. The bed was particularly comfortable.

Even though we arrived after out check in time, our room was not ready and we had to wait. We also chose double bed but there were two separate bed in the room. Not to sleep separately with my husband, we put the beds together by the help of staff. We could not sleep well and our backs so hurted because the bed was so uncomfortable.

I hope breakfast returns. It would have been a great option...though there's a great cafe just down the road and a very relaxed and popular shisha lounge a few blocks away.

The Hotel Michele is highly recommended for guests looking for a personable and non-corporate experience. The staff was fabulous and friendly, and I really enjoyed staying in what felt like a "real" residential neighborhood above the tourist madness. My room and the hotel itself were quirky and no-nonsense. While not an especially glamorous stay, I highly appreciated the peace and quiet as well as the sincere staff who didn't faun on guests with saccharine sweetness, instead showing old-school hospitality. We extended our stay because of this beautiful place and the very friendly owner. He gave us an upgrade with a large room and was very helpful - especially in organizing a new part for our car which was broken. The area is very good both in terms of location and atmosphere. All the best and hopefully one day we will come back to Sarajevo and Hotel Michele.

Nice, friendly and very helpful owner and staff. The location is good, in a peaceful area but still very close to the city centre and old town. The interior of the hotel is really beautiful. The hotel appears to still be in a starting-up phase (August 2023) after having been closed for some time, but things are well-functioning.

We stayed at Royal Gold for two nights during our honeymoon and had a very good experience overall. We had originally booked a double room and mentioned that it was a special occasion. To our surprise, the owner, Tanja, had prepared something thoughtful for us. She waited until we arrived to personally welcome us and let us know that she had upgraded us to a full apartment, which was much bigger than expected. She was genuinely kind and helpful, gave us some useful tips about the city, and clearly made an effort to make our stay more special. We appreciated the gesture and her friendly attitude. The hotel itself is located in a quiet area, about a 5-minute walk from the old town, which made it easy to get around without being in the middle of the crowds. The apartment was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed our time in Sarajevo and were happy with our choice to stay here.

The stone construction of the house was a blessing during the heatwave. My room remained a wonderfully cool and comfortable despite the 34 degrees outside! The breakfast was good! Our short stay in Sarajevo was truly wonderful thanks to Royal Gold Hotel. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The location is also quite central — perfect for exploring the city. What impressed us most was the kindness and helpfulness of Ms. Tatjana. She contacted us in advance, welcomed us warmly, and generously gave us one of the largest rooms. She even arranged a taxi for us early in the morning. Hot water didn’t work properly. It turned cold after 5 mins, and even in another room the same issue happened. Staff said “wait for electrician” but nothing was fixed. Room wasn’t clean at check-in — no towels changed, dirty bathroom, no bin bag. Nice people, but poor experience overall.
