Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom not made up on second day. Restaurant not open one evening although we had been told it would be and so had to make alternative plans at the last minute. I gather a member of staff had not turned up for work. Limited parking, with a high charge in the hotel's small car park and nearest alternative 10 minutes walk away
Very quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed the quirky atmosphere of a floating hotel. Excellent breakfast

United KingdomCould be awkward if you forget to book your breakfast. Double bed was two singles put together, did feel a bit lumpy.
The room (cabin) was as adevertised and as I work on ships I liked it. The location was great for city centre, 15 min walk, and this was close to station, if needed, parking, if needed, and close to restaurants. You have to make sure you talk to staff about food if you want it as it is a small hotel and doesn't have a large restaurant so food is not readily available. Shower was ok the presure was a little low but it was manageable. Over all we loved the place.

United KingdomThe only issue is that the decor is dated. And the beds are very narrow (we were in single beds) and there was a classic "boat smell'. But you get over that pretty swiftly
The place was close to town and the breakfast was very good.

United KingdomMisunderstanding with staff regarding parking, was told twice by two staff free parking and was clearly shown were to park ...., then got charged €30....Beware or just leave car on station carpark as we did first night for €6 per 24hrs
Great location nice stroll into the centre, breakfast gave plenty of choice. Rooms comfortable and lovely bathroom towels.

United KingdomThe layout of the bathroom could have been better. Admittedly there isn’t much space on a barge, but the toilet was too close to the door.
Quirky and comfortable place to stay. Close to station. Very quiet. Room was cosy and we had a great view of the canal. Lovely staff. Great buffet breakfast with lots of hot and cold choices. We had an excellent evening meal on the first night too. Would be nice to go back in warmer weather and take advantage of the outdoor terrace.

United KingdomDinner menu rather expensive so we decided not to eat on board, sad as would have liked the convenience of that, had a walk to local restaurants. Is a restaurant barge next door to this hotel which is a bit cheaper. Hotel barge bar not cheap but then Bruges is not cheap, so not way off.
Lovely warm and comfortable cabin, bed very comfortable. Nice hotel barge, staff helpful and friendly. Extremely good breakfast offer. Good location, only 5 minutes walk to/from the train station. About 10 minutes walk to/from the main square, 5 minutes to closer local restaurants and where the ice rink is located.

The breakfast was fine if you wanted a continental breakfast but the bacon and eggs needed refreshing as all gone/dried up by 9, an hour before breakfast finished. Fruit salad a bit “over” on the first day - didn’t try day two as didn’t fancy it again

United KingdomThe decks are so thin you can pretty much hear people in the cabin above you blinking. However, noise from above you isn't too much of an issue aside from people coming back to their cabin late at night, or going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The cabins are small, as is the bathroom, though there is ample storage space. The rooms also weren't that clean, they could have done with a bit more of a thorough cleaning session. Also, the hotel did feel a little bit old and tired in places. If I were to stay here again (which I honestly would be happy to do), I would spend a bit more to get a superior or officer's cabin. The breakfast would start running out of certain food items about an hour before it was due to end, and it would never get replenished, so I suggest you get to breakfast early to avoid missing out.
Firstly, the location is great - it's only about a gentle 20-minute stroll to the old town centre, but you're far enough away from everything to feel like you're out in the countryside. It's very quiet and peaceful, but also very easy to get to from the train station, or by car. Speaking of which, if you're coming by car, you might be lucky enough to grab one of the free parking spaces outside the hotel, though there are only a few of these. It's not mentioned on Booking.com, but the hotel does have a few spaces that you can reserve for €15/night, so I would recommend requesting to reserve a parking space if possible when booking your cabin. I parked in the very cheap multi-storey car park that's a 2-minute drive/5-10-minute walk away, and it was excellent. The breakfast spread was very good and everything was tasty. We had a canal-view cabin on the lower deck, and opening the windows in the morning to see coots and ducks swimming up to our cabin was honestly magical. We also loved watching the massive barges cruise by at eye level, that was very cool. Overall, we really liked our stay, and I would happily come back here.
