Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe external appearance of the hotel/car park is awful, seriously needs some work to make it more inviting/appealing, we nearly turned away. Menu choice for dinner is limited and expensive
The hotel itself & rooms were clean & comfortable Good facilities in the room but would suggest milk sachets/cartons for tea rather than coffee creamer Always good to see an electric socket near to the mirror :)

BelgiumRoom was rather warm at night and we had to use the airco (it was begin of April), there was a constant humming noise, even without the airco, but it did not disturb sleeping. The double bed we had did dip in the middle but again, it was not too bad.
Room was ok, breakfast bar was very good and there was a lot of parking spaces available. The staff was very helpfull when I had problems with my parking ticket and late check out was not a problem.

NetherlandsOverpriced stay and inconveniently located far from the city center with limited connectivity. Not recommended for those seeking value for money and convenience of public transport.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The quiet ambiance made it a peaceful retreat, and the car charging facility was a convenient plus for my electric vehicle. The buffet options were diverse and delicious, exceeding. Recommend for a comfortable and eco-friendly stay!

PortugalBeyond the lobby, the hotel doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel, to be quite frank. We joked multiple times that we were expecting a couple of twins to stare us down the corridor whenever we turned a corner (a reference to The Shining). The rooms were comfortable, but, again, they didn't feel 4 stars. Our door didn't close all the way through when you let go of it, which meant you had to go back and close it properly. This is, of course, a safety concern, especially if you're more forgetful / are used to this not being an issue. Midway through our stay, we noticed the body wash and hand soap bottles were switched. The hotel fixes the bottles to the wall so you can only move them with a specific key. We asked the staff to switch them back, as well as leave some night-time tea (the only one we had was black tea). We were told "No worries, we'll get on that during the day", but we got back to the hotel to find it all the same. This was somewhat of a recurring issue: the staff was always very nice, but they were also young and seemed inexperienced at times. I'm sure they'll improve and you won't feel the difference by the time you visit them. Finally, if you wish to travel around Ghent, you'll find this hotel is somewhat stranded. You're always a tram or car trip away from restaurants and sightseeing spots, which can be annoying when you want to have dinner at 9 PM and most stuff around the hotel is closing down. Keep that in mind when planning your trip!
Communication with the hotel was great, they sent me loads of information before our stay and attended to our questions even before we arrived. The lobby and restaurant areas are quite comfortable, and the food was great. The staff was always very friendly. You get complimentary tea and coffee in your room, which I greatly appreciate. We stayed there because we needed to attend an event at Flanders Expo, which is literally next door. If you have any business there, this is the hotel for you. It is also quite close to the tram station, which is the last one in its line. You can't go wrong! :)

ItalyThe pipe under the sink in the bathroom collapsed during the night, there was no water in the minifridge. Also complimentary items like slippers or bathroom essentials were missing, and it’s something you’d like to see in a 4 star hotel like holiday inn. The room as I said was big and comfortable but the hairdryer outside the bathroom was unhandy and it would have been nice having a little bit more light in the room.
Common areas were really nice. The elevator, the hall and restaurant area are amazing. The staff was nice too. The food was good but a little too expensive. The room was big and comfortable.

GreeceI think that a renovation is needed in the interior of the room. For instance, I believe that a hotel room equipped with a bathtub nowadays, is considered obolete.

United KingdomThe route in and out of 'The Loop' was very confusing as was the direction from the car park when exiting. Also there were no signs indicating the direction to find the tram into the city. On returning there were no lights on the steps to the hotel - this was extremely dangerous.
