Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe loved our stay at B&B Huis 'T Schaep! The location is perfect, a short walking distance to everywhere and very quiet, room is elegant and spacious, with old time charm and modern comfort, Michael is the best host, very kind and very knowledgeable, he went out of his way to help us. My husband was sick when we arrived, his wife made ginger tea for him, he rested very well while I go out to explore the city, and recovered when we left! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, Michael gave excellent recommendations to help plan out our days, my only regret is we couldn't stay for longer!

United KingdomIf I was being really picky, the option of a safe in the room would have been nice.
The hosts were wonderful and so welcoming. Michael gave so many fantastic recommendations of things to do, places to go and fabulous restaurants that were off the tourist trail. The room was large, beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous. And the location was fantastic for getting to the sights. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay here again.

United StatesFor those with mobility problems, request the rooms on the first floor. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep and narrow. They weren’t a problem for me.
One of the nicest properties I have stayed at. My room, the Rubens, was absolutely beautiful and the largest I’ve ever stayed in. Classic 19th century furnishings and decor, yet the bathroom was large and modern. Breakfast is first rate, with different fresh fruit each day and fresh squeezed orange juice. Michael and his wife were unfailingly helpful and kind, with great recommendations for restaurants and the sites. Michael was also great to chat with about the topics of the day. This B&B is radically underpriced for what it is. I’ve been to luxury hotels that don’t compare. Excellent location.

United KingdomI honestly can't think of a single thing.
Absolutely wonderful stay. Exceeded expectations. Not only the stunning property, which is very special, but the excellent location, close to everything you would want to see in Brugge. Most of all, I have to mention the absolutely lovely hosts. We were made so very welcome, and provided with a great overview of what to do and where to go in the city upon arrival. And the breakfast.... oh the breakfast! Good lord, it was wonderful. The hosts could not have been more helpful, kind, friendly or accommodating. It's one we will remember for a long time and certainly will be advising friends/ family to stay at if they are in Brugge. I don't tend to write a lot of reviews, but on behalf of me, my partner and the friends we were travelling, we wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had staying here.

United KingdomOne of the best places we've ever stayed. Not only was our room extremely comfortable and well equipped but the hosts, Michael and his family, were wonderfully attentive and kind. The breakfast was delicious and very generous and we received plenty of local information about Bruges and nearby restaurants. The B&B is on a quiet street which is an easy walk from the train station but very close to all the other lovely sights of Bruges. I can't rate B&B Huis 'T Schaep highly enough.

IrelandAbsolutely nothing.
Location is great, for both cultural center of the city to walk in and for transportation links to get to nearby. Breakfast is fulfilling, tasty and varied with esthetical delivery. Host Michael is extremely awesome, he will show and explain you anything you'd like to know about the local places, including some history of it. We loved the welcoming and we got Ruben room with is extremely special and beautiful room. Room had everything in it, including things like tea, water and coffee. Bath was amazing! It was between 6-11 degrees Celsius per day's and nights we stayed in there, and the room was warm. The building in general is a peace of art with its own history. Check out with Michael what story does it keep! We needed to keep our bags before we left late and Michael allowed us to keep them and take back whenever we want to. Also we loved the system that opens doors, very comfy. Lounge zone is awesome with balcony for people to smoke isolated if needed. In overall, this place is the one to choose, price is totally worth it, and Michael is a hosting champion.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing - if we had to pick one thing it was that we had to leave!
We had a really great stay, if we could vote more than a 10/10 we would. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Michael who went out of his way to talk to us, and gave us a map highlighting all the things we can visit nearby and wonderful food recommendations- he really couldn’t have been any more welcoming. He kindly allowed us to store our luggage there as we arrived quite early and told us all about the history of the beautiful property, which had amazing architecture. The room was really inviting and had so much space for us to store our bags comfortably, and the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. We slept really well in the beds and it was so nice to relax whilst being away. Breakfast was phenomenal, every day we had fresh fruit, yoghurt, hot and cold drinks, hot breakfast which included scrambled eggs and salmon, all the local breads and cheeses and meats, and Michael even went out of his way to help me source the amazing Brugge D’or cheese that they served. We couldn’t have had a nicer stay and you can really feel the love that they put into this place, and the incredible hospitality from Michael. Thank you so much!

United KingdomI was amazed when the host told us the history of the property and its unique decoration. The location is perfect, as it's on the quiet side of the street but very close to the city center where you can find shops, restaurants, park, cathedral, church, canal tour and many others. The room was spacious and spotless, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we need during our stay. Every morning they serve a delicious homemade breakfast with plenty of options. And the best part is the hosts! The day before my stay, the host rang me to give direction how to get there from the train station, also checked if we have booked any restaurants. He gave his recommendations and helped us to call the restaurants to get a spot (as they were showing as full on the website), and we got the bookings! We're glad that the host informed us, because we didn't know that it was that busy in Bruges where most of the restaurants require reservation. The hosts were very knowledgeable, accommodating and caring. We had a little problem when our train to return home was cancelled, and the hosts were very kind to offer us to stay on the lounge area until midnight while we were waiting for pick up, with all the snacks and drinks available. They also keep checking on us to make sure we got all we need, and when it was a bit chilly in the room he brought us a portable heater. We felt like we're staying in a family's house! We had an amazing time in Bruges and definitely will book this property again when we come back. Thank you Michael, John and the team!

United KingdomThe hosts were so accommodating and lovely, they helped us with recommendations of things to do in the area and also where to eat. They really went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The breakfast was amazing it really surpassed my expectations and kept us full for hours. The decor of the hotel was stunning with beautiful stained glass windows and gorgeous antique furnishings. I would recommend the accommodation to any friends or family or just everyone I knew who was planning on visiting the area. We stayed in a few other hotels on our trip and this was by far the best, the attention to detail by the hosts made it feel like a home away from home and truly enriched our trip.

United KingdomWhat's there not to like!! I always look for properties with good ratings first, then start narrowing down with location, facilities and cost. I wasn't disappointed on any front with my choice.
From the warm friendly welcome, the lovely history and character of this old property, the wealth of knowledge & ideas of how to fill our time in the local area & the lovely breakfast. We will revisit for sure 👍
