Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Huge comfortable room in what appeared to be the old kitchen at the front of the building. Great location a few minutes walk to the main square. Really comfortable bed.

United KingdomRather steep spiral staircase close to the lift until I found the other, grand staircase. Rather expensive breakfast (which we decided against at €25)
Car park opposite with handy EV charging point. Fabulous location on the canal. Beautiful classical and antique furnishings, with oil paintings etc. Exceptionally helpful staff. Large bathroom with both bath and shower and twin wash basins. Centrally located and just perfect in its unique and beautiful decoration. We parked our car in their enclosed underground car park several streets away. They cleaned our room every day and were very considerate.

United States of AmericaBecause the building is old, there are some quirks and wierdness to it. Our room had multiple issues, which did get fixed, but it required patience on our part upon our arrival. Thankfully everything was resolved promptly.
The hotel is in a very good location. It is in a quirky old building. It has a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable there. The staff is friendly and tried to make everything right for us. The room had a few issues, which they made sure were fixed quickly.

United States of AmericaAc needs to be switched when the days turn warm.
Lovely quiet area. We had 3 in a room and were not crammed together. The hotel was charming and staff so helpful with our needs. The breakfast was wonderful and we were excited to see many options. We did have some unusually warm days and hotel did not turn on ac. But we slept with the windows open and it provided cool air. We were on the garden side and was very quiet. The location was great. A few times we took a taxi to the furthest destination and spent the day walking back to save our legs. Also, it was very easy to get the train to Ghent for a day excursion. Thank you for making us welcomed and comfortable.

United KingdomOn booking the property was listed as having “Private Parking”, however it turned out it is 1/ not free and 2/ it was all booked out. We had to struggle to find a parking and organise ourselves to leave our luggage first and then walk from the public parking far away back to the hotel. We lost 1.5 hours from out holiday dealing with parking shenanigans. Please make it clear how your parking operates!!!
Spacious and well decorated rooms. We booked a Family room and were pleased that the child’s bed was in a separate room within the suite. Stylish decoration throughout. Great location.

United KingdomThere was no long term parking next to the hotel as stated it was limited to 4hrs so had to park further away approx 10min walk . We had booked a canal view room , our room was on 2nd floor with small windows so wasn't worth paying for the view even though the room itself was nice.
Location was good, only a short walk to the square. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was a lovely building, lots of history and character and nicely presented . Breakfast was good . Would stay here again .
