Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was very small at the top floor with the window looking at a wall. It was also very hot inside. Probably other rooms are better located, but the one we had was a bit too expensive for where it was.
The hotel was very nice as in the picture

United KingdomThe room key access cards were in very poor working condition, had to change cards 5 times during our stay and siting in front of the room not being able to access was very frustrating. The cleaning staff were incredibly loud in the adjacent rooms and corridors and was impossible to have a good morning of sleep considering they start cleaning before 8am.
The room was clean, the staff were helpful

United StatesJust the check in process, it would be great to have more info provided like particulars with the room and breakfast times/prices. The location was fine, although there was an area nearby that was a bit sketchy at night.
The breakfast was great. The room was also very comfortable and the hotel was beautiful. The check in person could have provided us with more information, however.

The location of the hotel to Brussels Centre was good, just 10-15min walk or two stops on the Metro. It was clean and the decor was very nice. Room facilities were as expected. The sweets on the bed was a nice touch.

United KingdomNothing we can think of.
The hotel is within ten minutes' walk of Brussels Mid/Zuid station, so very convenient for travellers arriving on Eurostar. Unfortunately, there was a large amount of civil engineering work connected with the Underground so one had to watch out for uneven road and pavement surfaces and diversions. However, we found the hotel easily. The premises were beautiful, spotlessly clean, and stylishly furnished. The receptionists were welcoming and could speak English, which helped. There was a smallish dining room where breakfast could be purchased but we did not make use of this facility. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and, again, spotlessly clean. The sanitary fittings in the shower room were upmarket Villeroy and Boch (stunning). The bed was roomy and exceptionally comfortable.

FinlandDistrictitself is not neat, but that is common nearby central stations. Air conditioner wasn't working properly, it had only "heating +21°C". We slept window open.
Very clean hotel and hotel room. We tried breakfast a (16€) and it was combination of cereals, bread, croissant, and also warm bacon and eggs. Good value for money in Belgium. Location is close to Brussels Midi train station.

United StatesThe front desk staff were not helpful and were surprisingly uninformed about the local area. The room was so hot! And the window faces a wall so there was no way to get air in. The area was a bit sketchy. Also, from the pictures I had the impression that the room was much bigger and that our beds would be farther apart from our kids but we were right on top of them
The hotel looked really cool. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable and it was relatively quiet

NetherlandsThe front of the hotel felt unsafe at times due to the people hanging around. Also we had a bit trouble with noice from other rooms (not intentional but walls / ceilings are thin).

GermanyThe air conditioning was super noisy and it was hard to sleep without earplugs in. The view was against a wall into the backyard. Almost no plant based options for breakfast, not even milk alternatives. The area around the hotel close to the train station did not feel very safe.
The room was small but clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Modern bathroom with a great shower.

United KingdomNothing. Circumstances beyond anyone's control.
Last minute booking due to train strike in Germany causing cancellation of our sleeper train back to Brussels. Unfortunately travel disruptions and missed connections meant we arrived at 10am rather than 10pm the previous evening. Reception staff could not have been more helpful and considerate, offering use of room beyond normal check-out. Very welcome shower and short rest before getting Eurostar back to London. Shame we couldn't properly experience the facilities - especially the garden - interior design and decor very attractive.
